Why has he been allowed to stay on this site for so long?

Because controversy generates site traffic, which means moolah...

Cuz the mods see some redeeming quality in the people they allow to stay.

.it's not about the money, but grace and love.

Nice thought, but no.. This forum generates the most traffic, so if they banned everyone who deserves to be, there'd be virtually no BDF left to fight in..lol

I am not so sure they even know half of what goes on. Apparently there is only one or two mods here, which means there is no way they can read every post in every thread. I am not much of one to report offenses, but JIMBO's constant lies have really gone too far. He mocks and scoffs and slanders and then cries like a baby about being hounded as if he were innocent, which is just more of his dishonesty. I see no redeeming quality there :(

Roughsoul, I would think you would know my position...don't have time to type it all so here is an article instead...

https://www.google.com/amp/s/jamespedlar.wordpress.com/2012/02/16/john-wesley-on-predestination/amp/

.
Total depravity is affirmed by Wesley, meaning that the fallen human being is completely helpless and in bondage to sin. This means, contrary to popular misconception, Wesley does not believe that fallen human beings have an inherent freedom of the will.

The atonement is universal in scope. Christ’s death was sufficient to atone for the sins of the whole world, not only an elect few, as proposed by five-point Calvinism.

Prevenient grace is universally available to all, restoring a measure of freedom so that the human being can respond to God’s grace. This is how Wesley could affirm that all human persons were free to respond to God’s grace – but note that the freedom which humans possess is a measure of freedom (not libertarian freedom) and is by grace, not an inherent endowment that is retained in fallen humanity.

Grace is resistible and can be rejected, to our own destruction. God is actively drawing all people to himself, but his grace is not coercive.

Predestination is therefore based on God’s foreknowledge, not his will. That is, God corporately predestines all those who respond in faith to salvation, and by foreknowledge he knows who will respond. His foreknowledge does not cause their response.

Assurance of salvation is given by the Holy Spirit, who witnesses directly to our adoption as children of God through Christ, and is also confirmed indirectly by the fruit of the Spirit.

Isn't it funny how plain Scripture is? Not all men have faith (2 Thessalonians 3:2) becomes twisted into "it means they haven't exercised it" or to quote the foolishness "because they chose not to use the faith they have."

Um...LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's awfully difficult to exercise something one does not possess, right?

But it is ANYTHING GOES instead of the Biblical belief in God's Sovereign Election. They'll LET (imagine how gracious they are for doing this - God must be grateful ;)) God be Sovereign in creation, Sovereign in power, in authority, in some decrees, over angels and demons, but over salvation? That's a no-no.
2 Thessalonians 3New International Version (NIV)

Request for Prayer
3*As for other matters, brothers and sisters, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you. 2*And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people, for not everyone has faith. 3*But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. 4*We have confidence in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we command. 5*May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.

Please show me anywhere in context does this verse speak to anything about pre election?

More as i read this as please pray for us that men may honor the message of truth and also pray because men have denied the truth and are putting paul under great trials.

But nice try taking it out of context to push pre election. When pre election is not even spoke of in this area.

See and taste that the Lord is good.

I believe that should be our church's Wonderful Wednesday meal slogan.

Lol, picture of various dessert choices: mine, my husband's and my son got an extra slice of bannana pudding cake to share.

False. Steee---riiiikeee 1.

and have not twisted anything to fit pre election?
False, I've twisted nothing. Steee---riiiikeee 2.

I already proven that to be wrong by just looking through scripture and seeing does God condemn children.
False. Steee---riiiikeee 3, and you're out!

You've proven nothing other than the fact you fight against revealed truth my friend. Lot's of chaps do this, and lasses too. ;)

Keep studying my brother! :)

We are saved in the sense that there was a point in time when we committed to God and called upon Jesus to be our Savior and we were saved at that time entirely by God, not by any righteous act of our own. However after having been made clean by God we are required to follow the Lord, and that is up to us. Also, not all those who have been made clean by God chose to continue to follow Him. This is very sad but true. I know of people who came to God and were forgiven and made clean and followed the Lord for a while but at some point decided not to continue. To say that such people were never really saved does not agree with the evidence of a changed life or the warnings in the bible about turning back from following the Lord.

Have the workers for done enough today to keep salvation.....? I will rest in the completed work of Jesus on my behalf.

He promises to finish what he started and complete the work he began in me by faith.!

Many people claim to be saved who are not. Only the Holy Spirit declaring them children of God is evidence of salvation.

Changed life and attitude is not.

Many other religions have those "proofs"

The main question is upon whom do you rest your faith and hope of salvation?

Yourself and what you do FOR GOD?

or Jesus Christ and what He did FOR YOU?
