Ive been in hundreds of churches and denominations and I can tell you thats not the case in many, many churches in Canada and the US. And the few men I did see attending were older men.
Okay so is the first answer to go out and seek women and open the pastorship to women?
Yes but the problem with that is it doesn't minister to the youth and the little ones.Church is, or should be where the family is fed. Home meetings are fine but not the same as church and reaching the lost. Though it seems churches are very ineffective at even that now days.I do not believe God would have us close church doors because many men are not being faithful to church.
How would it not minister to youth and young ones? The early church met in homes. Are you saying they were ineffective?
I have actually been in a home church. It did quite well in meeting the needs of the young. In some ways it does it better because it doesn’t have to deal with committees, voting, etc.
All across Europe, churches are closing down and businesses are purchasing the buildings. Actually Muslims are purchasing some of them as well.
But the point is, we are the church, the building is not the church. If buildings are lost due to the lack of attendance, homes serve perfectly to gather to worship our Lord.
And the Lord did say that they way was narrow and few would find the pate to eternal life because wide is the way that leads to destruction.
If we really want to be true to scripture, we don’t come up with our own ideas such as female pastors. We pray and ask God how we can be loyal to His word and His will.
And such is the case now days.If God can use a donkey to preach, surely he can use a woman.
He can if He has to, but does He want to? Have we done everything we can to insure that we are abiding by God’s word. Are we even praying that God will raise up Godly men instead of women?
Or are we happy that the opportunity has arisen for women to rise up and take their place in the pulpit?
Or are we defaulting to our own ideas even though it is in opposition to His word. Are we even asking Him or are we adding what we want to the word of God.
I have female pastors in my family and I dont have an issue with it. Ive posted before on why I feel this way. But irregardless of that when we look at the stats women are running the church because men are not attending. To say "well they can run everything but not be in the pulpit" is ridiculous to me. JMO
So you don’t see in the word of God that He chose men for the pastorship/leadership? I realize that there are denominations that teach differently. That just means to me that all denominations are not following all of the word of God, the full counsel of God.
I guess it just seems pretty clear that the very 1st qualification is men. And when Paul wrote to Timothy, he told him to entrust what he has learned from him to faithful men. So it’s a continuation of men in the leadership role. I realize we don’t agree, but I just can’t see it any differently. There is no passage in scripture that shows a women is qualified or even chosen to lead a congregation.
