I'm not sure all Cals see it this way..... but it is interesting to me. The reason is that on the way to our old CoC church, there is a big Baptist church. As CoC, of course we did it the RIGHT way, and went to church on BOTH Sunday and Wednesday nights. (Yes, SIR! FINE and Holy Christians)
Anyhoo.... those nights we would drive by that Baptist church, they always had a giant spotlight shining off up into the heavens like the Batman signal light. (Even if they were NOT being Holy like us, and having services that night.)
One thought that always seemed to strike me was that they were trying to get God's attention, and in effect, saying.... "Here we are, God... just follow the beam of light."
It's weird the different shades of religious sickness we can let run rampant through our minds if we don't guard out thoughts. LOL

Ohhhh no! The last time I had a discussion about Jews I was called the worst names and had my butt kicked all over the forum.Those were the ALL TIME nastiest threads I was ever involved in!! I talk in secular sites sometimes and they called me less names than the "Christians" in that thread did. {shudder} Thats one thing I cannot discuss,the Jews.

Is this saying that they must do something in order to be saved? Yes, sort of. They are not finished wallowing in the pig pen. They have not noticed, yet, that the servants in their Fathers House eat better and are clothed better and have better living conditions than those who have chosen their own path with their own free will...
Its not saying that they will contribute to the Works of Salvation. Its saying that the Holy Spirit has not brought it to their attention, yet. Because it is all in Gods Timing.

That's why I wear the shield of faith that can quench ALL the fiery darts of the wicked... it's the Holy Ghost fire protection suit enabling one to not give a fat rats's back side what they call ya
And yet the Lord says faith without works is dead as in faith the Lord does not accept.
If one is walking in true faith, good works (baring fruit) is ALWAYS the result. If no fruit is being produced, that shows they are not walking in the kind of faith God accepts.
James 2:14-17
What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
And yet God said in His Word... if you live after the flesh you shall DIE...
Romans 8:13
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
Those that are actually saved will automatically walk in good works that we are ordained to walk in as this is fruit into righteousness and evidence that we are saved.
Ephesians 2:10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Christians should grow and mature to the point that they are continually being led by the Spirit and no longer struggle with the sin that used to throw them off track which everyone has had in their lives.
This does not mean you are perfect literally as their are always things we do that are not absolute perfection... but that does not mean we cannot overcome and live above the sin that we used stumble over.
The Lord desires for His people to mature and quit practicing sin. Those that practice sin (it's a part of their lifestyle) shall not inherit the Kingdom of God according to Romans 8 among others.
