I never get on a plane for same fears you have.
Ironic really as I could go anywhere in the world and it wouldn't cost me a penny, But will not fly, much to my wife's dismay
If you don't get on a plane, HOW will we ever meet?
I was hoping to one day.

This makes me think of how fear is irrational.
I went climbing on a climbing wall with an automatic belay. If I fall it will cut in
a lower me safely to the ground.

Now I was fine climbing up to the top, 30ft up, but to get back down I had to
jump and let it lower me. Funny thing was I climbed down instead.

Now intellectually I could trust the mechanism when I fell it would save me, but
physically to actually jump, I froze. So making that choice was too much, though
I actually did trust it. It shows how emotions and behaviour are not rational but
dominate things we sometimes are not prepared to face.

One lady in our church could not go in lifts because of the space below the lift.
She now has controlled this fear, and can do this.

It is ironic we talk easily about life and death, heaven and hell yet somethings which
are safe we are terrified of them, lol. What will we do when we know the nutcase
infront of us will kill us? By Gods grace, praise the Lord we are going home.

You're assuming that Dcon didn't trust God to get him safely to Australia.. Stop doing that! Since when is it wrong of us to ask for prayers for safe travel?

It is an acceptable example if you remember that he defended Jesus, saying that He had done nothing wrong to deserve being crucified..

Hey BJ
I copied straight from your post.
This way there's no misunderstanding.
I never assume... You could go back and read your post.
You said the devil is deceiving people.
Who?
The ones who are working.
Like that's not a good thing to do and is inspired by Satan.

JESUS said we're to do good works.
I won't repost Mathew again . I'm sure you know it well.

Those who are doing good are being led by the Holy Spirit, not by the devil!

PS
I agree with all you've said except your comment about the thief.
Pretty difficult to do good works when you're hanging on a cross.
Not an acceptable example. Do you have another one?

Furthermore Peter, show me an instance where it happened, where God changed His mind toward a person that was saved by His Grace.
SAUL (as in King Saul)

After Samuel met Saul:

1 Samuel 10
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Then the Spirit of the Lord will come upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man. [SUP]7 [/SUP]And let it be, when these signs come to you, that you do as the occasion demands; for God is with you. [SUP]8 [/SUP]You shall go down before me to Gilgal; and surely I will come down to you to offer burnt offerings and make sacrifices of peace offerings. Seven days you shall wait, till I come to you and show you what you should do.” [SUP]9 [/SUP]So it was, when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, that God gave him another heart; and all those signs came to pass that day. [SUP]10 [/SUP]When they came there to the hill, there was a group of prophets to meet him; then the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them. [SUP]11 [/SUP]And it happened, when all who knew him formerly saw that he indeed prophesied among the prophets, that the people said to one another, “What is this that has come upon the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?” [SUP]12 [/SUP]Then a man from there answered and said, “But who is their father?” Therefore it became a proverb: “Is Saul also among the prophets?” [SUP]13 [/SUP]And when he had finished prophesying, he went to the high place.

[SUP]24 [/SUP]And Samuel said to all the people, “Do you see him whom the Lord has chosen, that there is no one like him among all the people?”So all the people shouted and said, “Long live the king!”

Now the Lord's view towards sin and disobedience:

1 Samuel 12
[SUP]14 [/SUP]If you fear the Lord and serve Him and obey His voice, and do not rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then both you and the king who reigns over you will continue following the Lord your God. [SUP]15 [/SUP]However, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord, but rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then the hand of the Lord will be against you, as it was against your fathers.

[SUP]25 [/SUP]But if you still do wickedly, you shall be swept away, both you and your king.

And so Saul did wickedly. He didn't Obey the Word of the Lord

1 Samuel 15

[SUP]
[SUP]10 [/SUP]Now the word of the Lord came to Samuel, saying, [SUP]11 [/SUP]“I greatly regret that I have set up Saul as king, for he has turned back from following Me, and has not performed My commandments.” And it grieved Samuel, and he cried out to the Lord all night.
26 [/SUP]But Samuel said to Saul, “I will not return with you, for you have rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord has rejected you from being king over Israel.”

[SUP]35 [/SUP]And Samuel went no more to see Saul until the day of his death. Nevertheless Samuel mourned for Saul, and the Lord regretted that He had made Saul king over Israel.

Then Saul went to a medium who called up the spirit of Saul:

1 Samuel 28
[SUP]14 [/SUP]So he said to her, “What is his form?”

And she said, “An old man is coming up, and he is covered with a mantle.” And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground and bowed down.

[SUP]15 [/SUP]Now Samuel said to Saul, “Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?”

And Saul answered, “I am deeply distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God has departed from me and does not answer me anymore, neither by prophets nor by dreams. Therefore I have called you, that you may reveal to me what I should do.”

[SUP]16 [/SUP]Then Samuel said: “So why do you ask me, seeing the Lord has departed from you and has become your enemy? [SUP]17 [/SUP]And the Lord has done for Himself[SUP][b][/SUP] as He spoke by me. For the Lord has torn the kingdom out of your hand and given it to your neighbor, David. [SUP]18 [/SUP]Because you did not obey the voice of the Lord nor execute His fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore the Lord has done this thing to you this day. [SUP]19 [/SUP]Moreover the Lord will also deliver Israel with you into the hand of the Philistines. And tomorrow you and your sons will be with me. The Lord will also deliver the army of Israel into the hand of the Philistines.”

[SUP]20 [/SUP]Immediately Saul fell full length on the ground, and was dreadfully afraid because of the words of Samuel. And there was no strength in him, for he had eaten no food all day or all night.

Good works are NOT a necessity to KEEP salvation. We are to do them, yes. :) But we're commanded to do them to show God's love to others, NOT for the benefit of keeping our salvation.
As ambassadors, Lights in the dark world. to draw people to christ. Amen sis.

Saul was in the Old Covenant which was based on man's "doing" which is why the Lord brought in the New Covenant which is based on "Christ's work".

The mixing of the 2 covenants leads to a works-based righteousness belief system which denies the grace of God in Christ from operating in our lives like it was meant to do. A little leaven ruins the whole lump.

Saul in the Old Covenant was not regenerated and born of the Spirit of God - joined as one spirit with the Lord - sealed with the Holy Spirit. His redemption was not based on the blood of Jesus which speaks of better things then the blood of Abel.

And the Lord Jesus Christ said " I will never leave you nor forsake you." and nothing can pluck you out of My hands nor the Father's hands. - Nothing!

Jesus said "The Holy Spirit will be in you forever" John 14:16 Is Jesus a liar? I believe His words.

Paul says after hearing the message of Christ and believed - we are sealed with the Holy Spirit. Is Paul lying now?

I can understand now why the Lord said to one guy ' "I am sending you out as a missionary - the guy replied - Where Lord? To right where you are. I'm sending you to the unbelieving Christians in your midst so that they would believe in what I have already done for them."

It's time to start believing in Christ and to walk in the New Covenant.

Sorry blue I was not assuming anything I was making an observation on how we put great
trust in man, and often take things for granted.

A couple in a church I was going to were in a terrible car accident and survived. They thought
God had a special plan for them which is why they survived. It made me realise how brilliant it
is when people design cars so that the occupants are safe even in terrible situations.

Sometimes we put survival and how things go while not fully understanding the blessing and
how people have worked.

My son on his bike was hit by a car from behind at about 40 miles an hour, thrown 60 ft, 15 ft in
the air and survived. Part of this was because the top of the windscreen is designed to bend
and deform rather than cut you in half. He landed horizontal that spread the blow, with a few
broken teeth and hurt knee. I praise God for His provision and angels helping, and also to the
safety car designers who softened windscreen joins. Unfortunately many people have died
before this was done, which is testimony to how much arrogance goes before a fall, rather
than care in a lot of what man as a whole does. God bless you.

Nobody is saved without grace. Even the OT believers were saved by Grace. Through Faith. For there is no other way by which man can be saved.

You can embolden what you want. Saul was not saved by grace through faith in Jesus.

You posted about Saul in answer to a question and quite frankly you have got it wrong.

Maybe you didn't read the question correctly before answering it.

When was the old covenant based on doing? See below:

Galatians 3
[SUP]15 [/SUP]Brethren, I speak in the manner of men: Though it is only a man’s covenant, yet if it is confirmed, no one annuls or adds to it. [SUP]16 [/SUP]Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,”[SUP][i][/SUP] who is Christ. [SUP]17 [/SUP]And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ,[SUP][j][/SUP] that it should make the promise of no effect. [SUP]18 [/SUP]For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

You are confusing the Old Covenant of the law of Moses with the Abrahamic Covenant from which Christ came into being from. Saul lived under the Law of Moses and he was not born-again, sealed with the Holy Spirit whom Jesus said would be in us forever.

The scripture you quoted is saying that the law of Moses cannot annul the covenant put in place by God through Abraham which was bringing us the promise of Christ.

The point is Saul is not indicative of the promises and realities of the believer who is sealed with Christ because of "His work on the cross and resurrection".

Works-based belief systems use Saul to bring fear and condemnation to believers and thus are really nullifying the grace of God from operation in their lives like it was meant to. It does not come from God.

It is actually a work of the flesh called "witchcraft" in Gal. 5:19-20 - which means "the mixing of things together to get a desired result." We get the word "pharmaceuticals" and pharmacy from this Greek word.
