And believe Jesus died for our sins....

Just came back to this thread was learning about Calvinism.

Wonder why folks are all tense?
Too bad you've been away Ariel.
But you did good to study up on Calvinism.
You have to know a lot to hang around with this crowd.
They know everything there is to know.
AND if you don't agree with them, well, you're going straight to hell.

I've been told by several here that I'm lost because my doctrine is wrong.

Well, I SURE HOPE their doctrine is right, because if it's DOCTRINE that saves, us --- well, we BETTER HAVE IT RIGHT.

And all this time I thought Jesus saved us. Silly me.

Another poster who does not discuss scripture but decides who is saved and who is not.
Many gods around here...

I refer you also to Mathew 7:1.5
Wow, did you just accuse people of playing as false gods and say they don't discuss scriptures?

Maybe the first person to follow your advice, will be YOU?

.
So, I'll stick to Jesus, and also the letters when they come up.
Maybe people around here will start acting like real Christians and just discuss things and stop attacking.
Maybe those who slander will stop saying they are being slandered.
Maybe name-calling will cease since we are all brothers in the Lord..
Is this an example of sticking to Jesus?

GRACE. FAITH. BELIEF. JESUS.

These are the things that save us. :)

Doctrine does not save us. And works do not save us.

Oh, I dunno, he constantly calls me names when he does not even know what I believe, he does it because he is a liar, and a deceiver, and teaches a false gospel, that is what I know.
BUMP.
Read what you wrote...

Getting saved seems simple because you refuse to read Jesus' words and follow them.

He said to pick up our cross daily if we are to follow Him.
He said to put Him first.

In fact, He made the Law MORE difficult.
If you hate someone (as some here do) you have already murdered that person.
Mathew 5:22

If you just look with lust upon a woman, you have already committed adultery.
Yes. He did make it pretty difficult to be Christian.

So, it's easier to teach cheap grace. Jesus hung on that cross, tortured and bloody and carrying everyone's sin and sins, but let's just keep on talking about how all we have to do is believe. As if we have no part in holding on to our salvation.

I dont think he made it harder to become a follower of him.

He revealed what the true intention of the law was, and what it meant and how it should apply to us as believers.

It only becomes difficult when we follow the letter of the law rather than the spirit of the law.

???

Only doctrine that is important is the Gospel: saved by grace through faith in Jesus, that he was crucified for the remission of our sins, died and rose again. Ascended to heaven and sent the Holy Spirit to allow us to be born again Children of God.

Did I miss something?

Before posting stuff such as the above,
why don't you go back and read everything so what you say makes some sense.
Because what you've posted above MAKES NO SENSE.

Thanks for your consideration.

You accused PennEd based upon this post:

.
I realize that there are some who have yet to fully embrace the one true Gospel unto Salvation. That God wrapped Himself in human flesh, in the form of Jesus Christ. He was born of a virgin woman, conceived by the Holy Spirit, suffered, was crucified, died, and God raised Him from the grave on the 3rd day, according to the Scriptures.

Confess Jesus as Lord, believe in your heart He rose from the dead and you WILL be saved. We CANNOT ADD ANYTHING to that Gospel for our Salvation. To do so is an insult to god.

Now there is PLENTY we should do after we are saved and filled by the Holy Spirit, but none of that has anything to do with our Salvation.

So some who have yet to have the Holy Spirit reveal the beauty and simplicity of this Gospel need for us to have patience and love with them even when they use tactics such as saying disagreement equates to hatred..
What don't you agree with in his statement?

Why do I need to go back and read a fight folks won't let drop?

What are y'all even fighting about?

It's a New day.

Forgive, move forward.

"Do not let the sun set on your anger" God says this for a reason.

You are not lost precious sister neither am I.

Doctrine does not save even though we all here have a difference in doctrine the truth is Jesus saves us.

As for me I think when we place genuine faith in Jesus the God works in us to conforms us to be the image of Christ.

What is more difficult?
To follow a bunch of rules someody gives you...
Or to know in your heart what to do?

The Law followers are those who want to be given a bunch of rules to follow. It's easy.
Go to Church.
Be nice to everyone.
Don't steal.
Don't kill, etc.

But the Spirit followers are required to know within their own heart what is the right thing to do.
This is much more difficult.
Just look at what goes on around here.

If we had LAWS to follow, we'd be a lot calmer, knowing that anger is not liked by Jesus.
But we're following our spirit, and to some it means they could do what they want and will still be safe.

Is it easier to be told you have to give 10% to your Church.
Or is it easier to be told "give what your heart tells you"?

What do you think, Bill?

Of course I agree.

Let me ask you something.
Have you ever known me to post as I do here?
Then why am I doing it?

Because I see here the work of satan. He delights in seeing us attack one another and put each other down.
The hatred I feel here for Catholics is unbearable to me. THOSE WHO LOVE JESUS ARE OUR BROTHERS, no matter what denomination they belong to.

So, are we conforming to the image of Christ here?
A poster just scolded me for something I didn't even do.

Are we here to discuss the things of God or to get angry at each other?

I won't accept satan's work.

for me it's a no brainer

Hebrews 10:15-18

But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before,
“This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.

No, no. This is not what I'm talking about.

What I'm asking is:
Is it easier to be told to give a 10% tithe to your Church
OR
Is it easier to be told to give what your heart tells you to give.

This is an example only. I don't want to talk about tithing.

My heart tells me that it all belonged to God anyway, so I am just giving back into someone else's care what God blessed me with.

God teaches us slowly each of His laws are written on our hearts. He empowers us daily to walk in His light.
