You could start peeing in the bed..... get her to move.
Unfortunately, she's not old enough to have a place of her own ;). And as she's bigger than I am, the couch isn't an option for her. But like I said, the couch really has worked for me so far.

Aww c'mon, "Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?" ;). Honestly I try not to even let her know when it happens (I think she thinks it is a rare occurrence :p) because she feels so horrible about it if she knows I lost sleep because of her, and is ready ot move into the garage at a moments notice.

You started a thread about it, I'm just giving suggestions.

All of those sound good...I might have to look into something like that! Permanent furniture doesn't work, but something you can fold up and put away might be an option.
sleep on the couch in the living room. i used to sleep in bed like that with my sister at my grandmas i would steal all the blankets finally we got smart and did seperate blankets lol. maybe tuck your sister in tight to seperate sheets and blankets and then you have your own maybe that will keep her more contained.

Thank you! I have been trying this with great success :)

I've thought of that! It sounds like it might work and is something I might try. I'm discovering that how much she moves seems related to the weather changes. We don't have AC (don't need it most times of the year) and I think she's the most restless when she's adjusting from a 65 degree room in the winter, to suddenly a 75-85 degree room as it gets warmer. She'll start to wiggle more again as it gets colder.

Is she actually seeping, or is she trying to sleep and maybe has jumpy legs? If she has trouble sleeping sometimes, for adults, 400 to 600 mg of magnesium before bed will allow a person to sleep and if it is restless legs she might try potassium caplets. I don't know the mg. but the amount of the mdr is 3% each. I take two if i need them at night, if after stretching my back muscles doesn't work. If this isn't her problem, in the old days the parents would put a board between the two sleepers, usually a boy and a girl. I suspect that it didn't always work to keep an amorous couple apart.

No, she is really and truly, absolutely, completely, asleep :D We've discussed the board thing, but since the bed is up against the wall it would have to be only partial so she could get out of bed if she needed to. And to be honest I'm not sure a partial board would work, since she's perfectly capable of climbing over it/going around it in her sleep!

Does she have to sleep on that side of the bed? If so is it the wall she likes next to her? If she doesn't need the wall, maybe just put the pillows on the other end so she can sleep on the outside and then she may not need to climb over you. If she still does then maybe the board idea could work, otherwise you might have to build a wall in the middle of your bed with a door for access. :D

I just had another thought. Have you tried to determine what makes her move on certain nights and not others? I am wondering if some daytime incident is making her mind try to get away from it at night. If it might be that a Christian solution may help in that case. I mean other than prayer, which I am sure you are employing already. I am very sorry for your situation and really hope you find a remedy. Love to your family.

Sorry, I guess I missed post # 27 about the temp. changes. It sounds like she is reacting to temp. changes and it doesn't matter if it is cold to hot or hot to cold. It sounds like the easiest thing would be number of blankets, but I am sure you have tried that. There is such a thing as a "Cold Cap" for sleepers who need cooler temps to sleep in. I haven't checked them out online yet, but it may be something to try. I read about them in one of my alternative meds. ezines. It may work to use it in the summer and ditch it in the winter to keep her whole body more even in temp., cap on the head and blankets on the body.

I've tried dictating what PJs she wears :D. That's kind of funny but it does seem to work. She's not bothered by her restless sleeping at all, so she doesn't care what temperature she is but she's usually quite understanding when I ask her to put on a t-shirt instead of her fleece top, or visa versa.

As long as she's awake, her climbing over me isn't a problem. She's quite careful to move softly and not squish me when she's awake :)

Great idea! One problem: I have so many boxes under my bed, I practically need a floor-plan to figure out where everything is :D. But maybe after my brother moves out at the end of the month I'll have more storage space...ha, I'll have to look into that!

The other sister...the one who can't stand to be kicked in the middle of the night :D.
Is other sister fairly still in her sleep? And are you? Because it strikes me put the wiggle wart in the top part and the two sound sleepers together.

Either that or... rope?

Oh, serious? Can wiggle wart be zipped up in a sleeping bag? I'm thinking rope might be illegal.

The only time we tried her on the top, she fell off  Sleeping bag might work, or it might make her more wiggly because she's too hot

They make railings so people don't fall out of their beds. lol

(I'm laughing because I'm imagining the poor sister in the bed underneath suddenly being visited by her sister in the middle of the night. lol)
