Alas not discussion and only imposition.

Im right your wrong.

i am always willing to walk and talk, regardless of differences.
Sadly there is to much of that. And if you say something about it. You are the bad person. Unwilling to talk.

This blame shift attitude is bordering on satanic in my view.

Mind you you if you believe a lie it's not lie until the Holy Spirit reveals the truth.

.21 I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.Galatians 2

sadly without context to scripture , your just a echoing gong. without the correct foundation , your already in want to the new covenant . when did it say forgiveness of sin for the new covenant.
15 Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.Hebrews 9

you would need to be jewish, not christian for your transgressions to be for given. under an old covenant.

.2 For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.Matthew 7

4 You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.Galatians 5

Repentance is a one time act of which has continual benefits, that being that once you are His, He is faithful to complete the work He started. If He started the work, it means its genuine, do you think that He will fail? God doesn't make mistakes, He is the Author and Finisher of our faith. You say Jesus doesn't intercede unless one is repentant, but the mere fact that you have faith in Him is the reason for His intercession. He stands in the gap, He is the mediator. This being done by the Father because HE loves us. He sent the Son. For us.

The gospel you are presenting is far too reliant on self instead of Christ. I must repent, I must be holy, I must be contrite, I must walk in the light, and I must do this and that all to what end? Surely not salvation, for God's righteousness is one that is imputed, a righteousness of faith. Not works, lest God be a debtor to man.

I understand your plea for righteousness and holiness in daily living, but don't mistaken where God is taking you as the foundation of your faith (or salvation). This credit, this glory, rightly belongs to the Son. We are saved by and through Him. It is His finished work that has saved us all. WE have no boast, but Christ and Him crucified. When you stand before God there is not one thing that makes your case stronger or viable in exclusion to Jesus. If it was not the Son, you're done. lol :p

so is context a one time understanding, what law did you repent from ,

.14 For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law.Romans 2

if they do not have a law ,who told you to repent.

Repentance is a one time act of which has continual benefits, that being that once you are His, He is faithful to complete the work He started.

Well let's test this statement against to Word of God:

Luke 17v3
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you,[SUP][a][/SUP] rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. [SUP]4 [/SUP]And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you,[SUP][b][/SUP] saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.”
- repentance, as you can see, is not just a single one time event. Here above is an example of repentance multiple times a day.

Acts 8v13,20-23
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Then Simon (the sorcerer) himself also believed; and when he was baptized he continued with Philip, and was amazed, seeing the miracles and signs which were done.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]But Peter said to him, “Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money! [SUP]21 [/SUP]You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God. [SUP]22 [/SUP]Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you. [SUP]23 [/SUP]For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity.”

- Simon the sorcerer had to repent after he believed and was baptised. He had to repent of iniquity.

2 Corinthians 7
[SUP]8 [/SUP]For even if I made you sorry with my letter,
<the first letter to the Corinthian church> I do not regret it; though I did regret it. For I perceive that the same epistle made you sorry, though only for a while. [SUP]9 [/SUP]Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing. [SUP]10 [/SUP]For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.
- here is a clear cut example of repentance (of iniquity, which you can read about in the first Corinthian letter)
- written to the church of Corinth (believers)
- who are required to repent (so not a one time event, like you allude to)
- and this repentance from iniquity leads to salvation

Revelation 2
[SUP]5 [/SUP]Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.
- From Jesus to the church in Ephesus
- Repentance, as you can see from the above, is not a once and forever point in time. He calls them once again to repent.

Revelation 3
[SUP]2 [/SUP]Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God.[SUP][a][/SUP] [SUP]3 [/SUP]Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent.
- See the above. You are to be a Doer of the Word. God judges works. Here He tells them to Repent.

Revelation 3
[SUP]15 [/SUP]“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. [SUP]16 [/SUP]So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot,[SUP][g][/SUP] I will vomit you out of My mouth. [SUP]17 [/SUP]Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— [SUP]18 [/SUP]I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. [SUP]19 [/SUP]As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.
- To the Laodicean Church. Once again, judging their WORKS.
- They are called to Repent. Once again, it wasn't the one time act at the beginning of their conversion.

Now, will you repent of this false premise you are peddling? Or is your opinion higher than that of God's Word?

If He started the work, it means its genuine, do you think that He will fail? God doesn't make mistakes, He is the Author and Finisher of our faith.

God started the work of the Israelites deliverance from Egypt. It was genuine. He showed them great signs and wonders by bringing plagues upon Egypt. He parted the Red Sea. Slayed their pursuers. He remembered His promise to Abraham. He brought them out into the desert to worship Him (yes, that was God's reason for bringing them out). The people asked for a mediator and would not draw near to God. Moses became this mediator. God went into covenant with this people, and the people with God. God gave them the law written on stone tablets. Yet at the first opportunity, the people played the harlot. They went back into their idolatry and forsook God. God slay thousands for this idolatry. The faith of this people was tested when spying out the promised land. Only two came back with a positive report. Of all those who were delivered from Egypt (anything from around 1.5m to 3.5m people), only Two people entered the promised land.
- God fulfilled His promise to Abraham - but only a remnant was saved.
- However, by far and large the greater number of people fell in the desert because of their unbelief. They fell in the desert because of their iniquity. They would not repent.
- Now, will you test God in the same way?

You say Jesus doesn't intercede unless one is repentant, but the mere fact that you have faith in Him is the reason for His intercession. He stands in the gap, He is the mediator. This being done by the Father because HE loves us. He sent the Son. For us.
- you have a part to play in this.
- if you say you have faith, then you will have no problem with the doctrine of repentance.

The gospel you are presenting is far too reliant on self instead of Christ. I must repent, <because Jesus says so: Matthew 4v17> I must be holy, <because Peter says so: 1 Peter 1v16> I must be contrite, <because David says so: Psalm 51v17> I must walk in the light <because John says so: 1 John 1v17>, and I must do this and that all to what end? <salvation> Surely not salvation, for God's righteousness is one that is imputed, a righteousness of faith. Not works, lest God be a debtor to man.
Philippians 2v12-13[SUP] 12 [/SUP]Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; [SUP]13 [/SUP]for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
James 1v22 [SUP]22 [/SUP]But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
James 2v17 [SUP]17 [/SUP]Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

I understand your plea for righteousness and holiness in daily living, but don't mistaken where God is taking you as the foundation of your faith (or salvation). This credit, this glory, rightly belongs to the Son. <agreed> We are saved by and through Him. It is His finished work that has saved us all. WE have no boast, but Christ and Him crucified. When you stand before God there is not one thing that makes your case stronger or viable in exclusion to Jesus. If it was not the Son, you're done. <Now that you have said this, Heed the words of the Son. Luke 6v46 [SUP]46 [/SUP]“But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say? You say you have Jesus as saviour? Ok. Now do you have Him as Lord? For if you don't have Him as Lord, you neither have Him as saviour.> lol :p

[h=1]Hebrews 12v4

[SUP]4 [/SUP]You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin.

Hebrews 12New King James Version (NKJV)[/h] [h=3]The Race of Faith[/h]Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
- Lay aside every weight (not some, but every). Who does the laying aside? You !!
- Lay aside all sin (because sin ensnares you. It separates you from God. Written to the Church. You lay aside all sin)
- Run the race (there is work to be done. You are to continue to believe. You are to continue to obey. You are to continue in good works which God has prepared for you, to walk in)
- With Endurance (you will need to complete this marathon. You will need to overcome)

[SUP]2 [/SUP]looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith,
- Thank you Jesus for this gift of Faith
- If you dare to believe. If You dare to continue to believe, you will be secure.
- There is a beginning (conversion) and an ending (overcoming). God is faithful to complete that which he has begun. Will you remain in covenant with Him? Will you walk with Him?

who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross,
- to redeem unto Himself His Bride, Elect, Without Spot or Wrinkle, Washed in the Blood of the Lamb, Clothed in white garments.
- a bride who has prepared herself. Who has been looking for the bridegroom.
- 5 wise virgins, as opposed to 5 foolish ones.

despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

[h=3]The Discipline of God[/h][SUP]3 [/SUP]For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. [SUP]4 [/SUP]You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin.
- You have not yet resisted to bloodshed in striving against sin.
- You have not yet resisted to bloodshed in striving against sin.
- You have not yet resisted to bloodshed in striving against sin.
- You have not yet resisted to bloodshed in striving against sin.
- You have not yet resisted to bloodshed in striving against sin.
- Where is your scope for continuing in sin? Church? Have you resisted? Have you resisted to the point of death?

[SUP]5 [/SUP]And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons:

“My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord,
Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him;
[SUP]6 [/SUP]For whom the Lord loves He chastens,
And scourges every son whom He receives.”[SUP][a]
[/SUP][SUP]7 [/SUP]If[SUP][b][/SUP] you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? [SUP]8 [/SUP]But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.
- All partake in this chastening process (verse 8)
- We are all chastened because of sin (verse 4)
- it is not a pleasant experience (verse 11 ahead)
- those who accept the Lord's chastening (verse 7) he deals with as sons. This is REPENTANCE from these sins.
- those who reject this chastening (verse 8), are treated as illegitimate by the Lord. There is NO REPENTANCE from these sins.
- Those who repent are sons. Those who don't repent are illegitimate. You who think you can retain your sins and retain Christ, you will lose Christ.

[SUP]9 [/SUP]Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? [SUP]10 [/SUP]For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. [SUP]11 [/SUP]Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

- human fathers corrected us for our errors, and we respected them. How much more are we to respect God, who corrects us for our errors (sins)?
- this is received in submission to the Lord (humility). Pride will not yield submission to the Lord. Pride says (like the serpent said in the garden) - "You shall not surely die".
- humility will result in submission which will result in holiness as we turn from every weight and sin (verse 1)
- after you have been chastened - after you have submitted and yielded to this chastening - it has a fruit of righteousness. Holiness. That is what the word of God says.

Is it perhaps time for you to reassess your opinions toward ongoing sin? Will you receive this word in humility? Or will you in pride defend your sins?

The Standard of Sinless Perfection

We have read a myriad of to-and-fro answers from both camps in CC over this particular topic.
Let’s see some of the scriptures which grieve those who are against sinless perfection:

Romans 6v1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? [SUP]2 [/SUP]Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
This is sin as opposed to sins. Shall we continue under sin's dominion. Paul says NO.

Romans 6v15 [SUP]15 [/SUP]What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!
This is deliberate sin

Romans 6v22-23 [SUP]22 [/SUP]But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. [SUP]23 [/SUP]For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
This is the SIN that had dominion over us, but no longer. We have eternal life but we still sin. We are not however enslaved to sin. We are enslaved to God.

Romans 8v12-14 [SUP]12 [/SUP]Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. [SUP]13 [/SUP]For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. [SUP]14 [/SUP]For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
We are not to live 'according to the flesh'. But we are to put to death the deeds of our body day by day. For we still sin.

1 John 3v4-9 [SUP]4 [/SUP]Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. [SUP]5 [/SUP]And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. [SUP]6 [/SUP]Whoever abides in Him does not sin.
Present tense, does not continue in sin, that is, known sin which is lawlessness.

Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.[SUP]7 [/SUP]
This can only be known sin, deliberate sin.

Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. [SUP]8 [/SUP]He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. [SUP]9 [/SUP]Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
Note that he CANNOT sin because he is born of God. That is he aims to practice righteousness. Once again known sins are in mind. But John would NEVER have argued that he loved God continually with heart, soul, mind and strength and thus was sinless. Indeed he has made provision for when we sin (2.1-3).

ALL OF THIS IS WRITTEN TO THE CHURCH. Not to outsiders.
well?

So the jackpot questions are these:

  1. Is the above possible?
    1. If you say “yes” – then you agree with the Word of God. For that (above) is what it says.
    2. If you say “no” – then you are is denial about the Word of God. For the scriptures are plain to see.
  1. Yes it is possible to have victory over known sin, but not over all sin. It is not possible to be sinlessly perfect.

  1. [*]If God has a Holy Standard, would it be sinless perfection, or something less?
God calls many things holy which are not perfect, because they are separated to Him, So the question is not relevant.

We can say His Holy Standard is perfection. We can never say He expects it of us. He knows what we are,
    1. If you say “sinless perfection” you agree that the Lord is Holy.
But that is not the holiness he requires of us.
    1. [*]Without Holiness Nobody will see the Lord. 1 Peter 1v15-16 [SUP]15 [/SUP]but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, [SUP]16 [/SUP]because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”[SUP][c][/SUP]
By holy He means separated unto God. That is the holiness that God requires.

Elsewhere it is written: Hebrews 12 [SUP]14 [/SUP]Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: [SUP]15 [/SUP]looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God;
We are to live lives separated unto Him, that is, holy lives.

and elsewhere it is written: Matthew 5v48 [SUP]48 [/SUP]Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
This is exhorting us to follow His example of love. It does not mean perfect over all.

If you say something short of sinless perfection; you deny the Lord, for He is the essence of Holiness. He can never make the standard lower than perfection.
God nowhere requires sinless perfection. Have YOU reached the essence of holiness? I have never met anyone remotely as holy as God in His absolute holiness (apart for Jesus Christ).

The Apostles Paul and John wrote the above scriptures under inspiration of the Holy Spirit. They are truth.
Yes but not as you misinterpret them and by it condemn yourself.

So you would prefer we dispense with scripture, and instead use human reasoning to come to a conclusion on spiritual matters?

I would prefer we take the scriptures, for that is truth.
you are both sinfully imperfect and a coward. He did not ask for human reasoning. He asked you a straight question which anyone could answer, but you could not because it condemned your whole argument..

The Standard of Sinless Perfection

You need to get off this road, if this is what you believe. Before it’s too late.
i agree with much of what you have said, just want to drop this thought with you

the standard is perfection in order to cause us to press on toward the goal. it keeps us moving forward as we believe. its meant to not let us think were already perfect, the only perfection we really can be is perfect in mercy towards others, because we all need the mercy of God, and were all setting our own standard in that regard

matthew 5:43-48 "Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. 46For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? 47And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48Be ye THEREFORE perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."

Luke 6:But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, 28Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. 29And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thycoat also. 30Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask themnot again. 31And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. 32For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. 33And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.34And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. 35But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. 36Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
37Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: 38Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again."

its a consistant principle of the gospel, and im convinced that when im 90, god willing, ill still see things in he Gospel i need to press forward into. I sincerely hope i never see myself perfect
