Ephesians 2:8-9 (NASB)
[SUP]8 [/SUP] For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

[SUP]9 [/SUP] not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

You have been saved is in the perfect passive - which means it is something that happened in the past that is always in the present state in a complete state. It is true continuously in the present.

Passive means - it was done to you - you didn't do it yourself.
Amen....yet the workers for and cake takers will reject this and default to James out of context to try and prove salvation is by works....even though James does not teach that and is speaking of our faith that saves being seen by MEN based upon our works or fruit!

its impossible to lose something that hasnt been given yet... however you can gain salvation after being saved and im not denying that.. but you think you can lose your salvation for denying God in a certain way..

The problem with this is everyone does that befor being saved..

This is your logic not mine this is you preaching you can lose your salvation.. not us... what i say is its only your salvation to be lost not mine..
You can gain salvation AFTER BEING SAVED you say.....wow......another cake taking statement.....

They got it from the Catholic church, and the catholic church came from pagan Babylon.

I believe the Roman church has infiltrated the protestant churches with various teachings, to destroy the opposition from within, but also in an attempt to unite all under the roof of Rome. If you think about it, the only thing stopping Rome from getting their way is the true gospel of grace through faith alone in the work of Jesus, which is taught in the protestant churches. Since the protestants are the opposition, all Rome can do is infiltrate the churches to destroy the true gospel message and therefore successfully bring about unity with Rome, where the Pope is leader of all.

The "come out of her MY people" suggests that there are true believers being warned to come out of it all.

The protestant prosperity gospel is a renewal of the catholic doctrine of indulgences. Conditional salvation is a catholic teaching, and the protestant churches are now also teaching that salvation is conditional, that it can be lost, that there is no assurance, that works are necessary. Also another teaching floating around on here is the idea that future sins are not forgiven by the cross. Probably more than these, but just off the top of my head.

But even before the Babylonian religion was established we know that Cain is an example of one that tried to go to God on his own terms and not God's way. How many today refuse to accept God's way, the narrow way. Few are on that path, but many are on the broad road.

Not sure about the Lutherans, but I did hear that many of their churches (if not all) have embraced the catholic eucharist and believe the catholic doctrine of transubstantiation (wow, my auto correct didn't have a fit with that word, lol).

Interesting though... the majority (if not all) lutherans are preterists, and there are similarities between them and the catholics because the Catholic church believes that they are God's current kingdom on earth.

I have 4 semester hours of Church History and I agree...most so called Christian denominations have their roots in some form or fashion tied to the Catholics....even if but one or two doctrines they espouse....works for being the primary one........

God is clear....when I see the blood I will pass over you....by faith the righteousness of Christ is applied unto all true believers...his GRACE out bounds our sin, he forgives and cleanses us and if we still walk contrary he whips us as children.......again you fail to understand the truth and God seeing us through the blood of His righteous Son....!
You don think that placing the blood over the door was a work? It was the first works of obedience to the truth.. Those that did not do this work would suffer the same fate as the Egyptians who were in rebellion to God....How do you seem to get child like stories in the text completely backwards? God sees you as who you are. He is not some Bozo the clown playing peek-aboo with sinners, that mischief utter is folly and ridiculous...many twist the scriptures to their own destruction as the apostle Peter said hey would. Why? Because hey look for ways to remain in their sin and still inherit the kingdom..In short; they want the best of both worlds..of such are rebellious children and refuse to come to the light "ie" (blasphemy of the Holy Ghost)

Yes Ma'am.
THAT'S WHAT IT IS.

And, I hope you noticed that he presents ALL the points of view.

Too bad you take positions with a grain of salt.
That's how one learns things...

BY HAVING AN OPEN MIND.
And thinking things over well and comparing them to the written Word.
It's a great system.
I see you quote and reference men all the time...parroting what they believe and espouse.....what you stand on and your view speaks volumes to the fact that you miss the mark on the dual aspect of sanctification and the clear meaning of justification and the eternal application of said word through faith and the blood of Christ being applied by said faith!

Faith pal......that was the key......just like Abraham who BELIEVED GOD and it was put to his account for righteousness.....The bible is clear....WE cease from our labor and enter into HIS REST by faith, Jesus has done ALL the work and the verbiage is clear....

HE that BELIEVES on the SON is having everlasting life<-----NO WORK REQUIRED!

And blasphemy of the HOLY SPIRIT was to equate the work of Christ to the devil...a PERMANENT state of UNBELIEF and one cannot be forgiven and saved if they will not believe...

You cannot even get that right....now wonder, you still trust yourself over JESUS that you can be born again!

And for one that trusts his works...I am surprised you lie so much...the bolded above...which is also false allegation

So which position as he lays it out do you hold concerning sanctification?

I will ignore the implied insult that I don't have an open mind, think things over and compare them to scriptures.

The grain of salt is that most people, inaccurately represent others positions and beliefs. Therefore I read what He believes others believe with a grain of salt in that He may be wrong in his summary of their beliefs.
Par for the course with her.............

What you don't get PeterJens is folks are talking about Justification and not sanctification...which is why you make inaccurate statements like this:

Maybe if you could realize the topic being discussed you wouldn't get so confused and make so many strawmen.
Impossible.....he talks in circles so bad that the government in England is considering him as a viable source of crop circles.....

For the ones who reject truth.....

David accurately described the blessedness of the man to whom God IMPUTES RIGHTEOUSNESS without the deeds of the law (works)

There are a few who reject the imputed righteousness of Christ as a neat little trick that does not work.....

My bible states clearly that that is exactly what God does unto those who exercise faith into JESUS!
