It's a great movie and a great scene. About the dress, Bette was a little too big for it, so Edith Head made those cuts under the sleeves! I love that dress, and had no idea it wasn't meant to look like that. I love Edith Head, primarily because she did not like dressing Audrey Hepburn as she thought her too thin and did not have a good figure! She loved dressing Elizabeth Taylor, because of her curvy figure.

I have a few of her movies, especially when she was young and skinny. Edith Head did a great job of altering the dress.....it was beautiful! I just loved that movie! Great actors/actresses. It was well done.

Great writing, too. The Manckiewicz movies are very well written. Dialogue is so clever in them. Have you seen Letter to Three Wives? It is fantastic.
