We are one of the the main causes of extinction in too many cases of wildlife that has been forced out of its natural habitat or poisoned with all the junk we use to supposedly improve our lives while people get sicker and sicker. Now the butterflies and bees are disappearing... wildlife is beautiful, and needs to be respected. People think some of the wildlife is cute and harmless when it is anything but... like a child that was dragged into the water here recently by a sea lion. It had already lunged at her and people laughed, saying oh how cute, and then she sat down on the edge of the dock, and the sea lion pulled her into the water. People did not think it was cute or funny then. Thankfully the girl was fine.

I live near a green space that is populated by coyotes. It is pretty cool to hear them yipping and barking, especially the babies, but not so nice to see them roaming the streets at night looking for a cat to eat. We also have lots of raccoons and skunks in the city, and in the burbs cougars, bears, and other animals people need to be mindful of. Lots of eagles too. Bears can become a real pest if people do not look after their food waste properly.

I think of flora also, when you say wild life :D

The first 1:15 just shows the sea lion lounging about while it is being fed by the onlookers...

I saw that on the news the other day, I wonder if the white clothes had something to do with that, maybe the sea loin thought of food or something.

Yes, she is about the size of a large penguin, it was thinking "lunch!"

It was her grandfather who jumped in after her, and the sea
lion swam away, otherwise, it could have been a tragedy.

I think she may have learned a valuable lesson :)

You don't see a lot of it in the center of the city, where I live. I did see several racoons in someone's yard during one of my early morning walks. I wasn't sure if I should be scared or not.

Raccoons can get a bit aggressive if they are constantly fed, but generally they are more afraid and leery of you... Raccoons and skunks are more nocturnal. When I encounter a skunk, I just stand still and let it pass. I saw a funny thing the other day, it was a squirrel walking across the parking lot, and I thought, wow, I don't think I have ever seen a squirrel just walking, they are always hopping or running and scurrying :) This one was just strolling!

The wildlife around where I life, is a mixture of
squirrels
red kites
cats
kids smoking weed
lots of snails
lots of spiders
the occasional joy rider on motorbike
a variety of birds (usually being chased by the kites)
lady birds
foxes
The occasional drunk walking home

I think I prefer the non human kind :)

We have bears, deer, coyotes, bobcats and the usual skunks, opossums and raccoons. I've seen on the news a time or two when a mountain lion had a run in with a car but I've never actually seen one.

A coyote was walking around the parking lot at my job one night and I thought it was a lost dog at first until someone yelled at me to get back in my car. It wasn't paying me any attention. We use to have little bunnies hopping ouside, I think the coyotes ate them because we don't see them anymore.

This bear smelled cookies at someones home and wanted in. These are not my pics, got the pic off of a news stations site.

I hope the one lying by the road is just napping, if not :(

He was struck by an SUV. The news site said that it had traveled way over here from South Dakota.

That explains the white could have triggered food.

it's heart-breaking when we come to realize just what the 'darkness/greed' of this world had done!

Lord God, Yeshua, please have mercy...

mayyybe not mountain lions or bears but usually
i love wild life...

but wild life doesnt like me

ive been attacked by bats

flexed on by an oversized crane couple (both over 5 ft)
while i was farming

made to leave a room during a school assembly by a one winged owl that considered only me out of everyone a threat

at a beach with like 100+ people as a child
i got a leach on me but no one else did

had a rough run in with a possum

and a couple more less threatening situations with animals

even a couple domestic ones

buuut ive had a couple successful attempts at makin wild life friends too

had a seagull follow me for like 30 minutes
and a squirrel take peanuts from my hand run like 10 ft away eat em and come back for more

How do you feel about wild life?
After getting born again... the Lord delivered me from wild life, thank God!

That's a good way for a bear to get shot!

Self defense of course

Surely they liked you, wild animals don't always show it in a way people do...
