I am no expert on Mormonism, but as near as I can tell, if you love the Lord with all your heart, mind, and soul, and love your neighbor as yourself, the Lord is pleased with you, whether you're a Christian or a Mormon.
Well, you're a universalist, your ideologies don't count.

I desire to know nothing but CHRIST and HIM crucified and the power of HIS RESURRECTION

Everything else?

Yet a moment ago, instead of telling me to be like Christ, you told me to be like Paul. Anyway, learn everything there is to know about Christ. That means reading all four gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, beginning to end.

thats not a wise statement

matthew 7:24-27 "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Not only do we want to believe, but we want to obey.[/QUOTE
Why did you mention that?

And the book of discipline?

Is there something that I am doing that you consider to be in disobedience to THE LORD?

If so

Tell me what it is

Well, back in the late 1980's the Lord led me to repent of sins I was committing, and suddenly my life was transformed into something indescribably beautiful. Over and over again I testify about this on this website, hoping others will discover what I have discovered. This says it all:

From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matt 4:17 RSV

Well, you seemed to want to express life in it's simplest terms, so I wanted to mention that obedience has to be part of the equation, I believe.

Book of Discipline? That was a different issue. I was trying to demonstrate that a church might have a Book of Discipline, but the Book of Discipline only tells you what the leaders of that denomination have agreed on. It doesn’t tell you what the average person in the church believes.

Exactly!

desiring to know nothing but CHRIST and HIM crucified and the power of HIS RESURRECTION

Didn't you know that Paul, by CHRIST's SPIRIT so powerfully at work in him, said these TRUTHS?

Actually. I don't think I ever told you to be like CHRIST

I told you to keep your eyes on HIM and to remain in HIM
and not go out from HIM

We can't "be like CHRIST" if we're not baptized into HIM, and reborn of HIS life-giving SPIRIT

Mormons, I've won a family.I'm pentecostal they are now Baptist.
God leads where he wills in light(Christ).

Basicly they're spiritual perception of The Son of God,The Father and Salvation is quit a mixture ofDoctrines of men, traditions by men, and a Radical understanding .God has a harem birthing spirits for people, wives affect their husbands spiritually if they don't provide bodies for those spirits. Husbands can refuse to allow their wives into heaven ( wives are given a secret name at a special washing(purification right)and a somewhat masonic handshake which her husband may at that time pull her through the curtains of heaven. After which They have relations forever birthing spirits for a planet like earth somewhere in the universe.Jesus was never God but a man like his Father who became a God like him.Shall i go on.if your family are mormons ,like the Amish but worse you can be disfellowshiped ,and like the Jehovahs witness they (heads of the organization) can instruct your wives, husband, children to disown you
permanently.Keeping the 10 commandments is a must but there are many loopholes.Basicly it's a different god and Another jesus and another way to heaven also a different heaven-mormon heaven Taking vows Christ Jesus commanded and warned us not to.Yes,pray for him but if the oportunity presents share calmly that it's a different god and a different jesus a carnal way to a false heaven based on
a resurrection to a false hope VERY contrary to Christ teachings.Jesus is not lifted up or taught.hope this helps
My grandson has dated one,we and the church need to inform the CHILDREN AND the ADULTS.If they would marry
i would use the opportunity to win her and restore him knowing she could lose all her present family, and he may have to make a major choice also!Shalome in Jesus ps.many that leave become very profane not having found the True Christ.but are now atheist joining the crowd of the offended.I love them and grieve at the damage.

Greetings:

I just spent the last hour reading all the messages in this thread. It was enlightening in many respects. While I came across several things that I feel are mistaken, I thought two were important enough to comment on:

Mormons have a very different view than most Christians do of many subjects from scripture, salvation, sin, ad epistemology, to God. However, their view is that Jesus Christ was God "in the beginning." That is, before He was born of Mary in Bethlehem, He was God; He created the heavens and the earth; He came to earth and lived in mortality as God in human flesh. Mormon scripture is replete with references to Jesus Christ being God from the beginning.

Secondly, someone claimed that Mormons taught that Africans did not have souls. That is mistaken. Joseph Smith, the founder of Mormonism claimed that all mankind are the children of God spiritually before being born on this earth. Every living soul--animal and human have souls.
