I am no expert on Mormonism, but as near as I can tell, if you love the Lord with all your heart, mind, and soul, and love your neighbor as yourself, the Lord is pleased with you, whether you're a Christian or a Mormon.
The message of THE CROSS is the hidden wisdom and power of GOD to all those who believe
Yet a moment ago, instead of telling me to be like Christ, you told me to be like Paul. Anyway, learn everything there is to know about Christ. That means reading all four gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, beginning to end.I desire to know nothing but CHRIST and HIM crucified and the power of HIS RESURRECTION
Everything else?

Why did you mention that?
And the book of discipline?
Is there something that I am doing that you consider to be in disobedience to THE LORD?
If so
Tell me what it is
Well, back in the late 1980's the Lord led me to repent of sins I was committing, and suddenly my life was transformed into something indescribably beautiful. Over and over again I testify about this on this website, hoping others will discover what I have discovered. This says it all:Well, you're a universalist, your ideologies don't count.
Well, you seemed to want to express life in it's simplest terms, so I wanted to mention that obedience has to be part of the equation, I believe. Not only do we want to believe, but we want to obey.[/QUOTE

Book of Discipline? That was a different issue. I was trying to demonstrate that a church might have a Book of Discipline, but the Book of Discipline only tells you what the leaders of that denomination have agreed on. It doesn’t tell you what the average person in the church believes. Not only do we want to believe, but we want to obey.[/QUOTE

Exactly!Yet a moment ago, instead of telling me to be like Christ, you told me to be like Paul. Anyway, learn everything there is to know about Christ. That means reading all four gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, beginning to end.
I don't know. Ask the person who mentioned itwhats a book of discipline?
Do you think I just gave my opinion sir?Message of the empty tomb, is the message of Gods children alive and well
By the way, please fix your post. I didn't say what you gave me quoted as sayingfollowjesus said:whats a book of discipline?
Actually. I don't think I ever told you to be like CHRISTYet a moment ago, instead of telling me to be like Christ, you told me to be like Paul. Anyway, learn everything there is to know about Christ. That means reading all four gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, beginning to end.
Who's talking about the outward denominational churchBook of Discipline? That was a different issue. So that makes them Christians?Greetings:
I just spent the last hour reading all the messages in this thread. It was enlightening in many respects. While I came across several things that I feel are mistaken, I thought two were important enough to comment on:
Mormons have a very different view than most Christians do of many subjects from scripture, salvation, sin, ad epistemology, to God. However, their view is that Jesus Christ was God "in the beginning." That is, before He was born of Mary in Bethlehem, He was God; He created the heavens and the earth; He came to earth and lived in mortality as God in human flesh. Mormon scripture is replete with references to Jesus Christ being God from the beginning.
Secondly, someone claimed that Mormons taught that Africans did not have souls. That is mistaken. Joseph Smith, the founder of Mormonism claimed that all mankind are the children of God spiritually before being born on this earth. Every living soul--animal and human have souls.
