I was honestly thinking the same thing. My jaw dropped. Sorry Chris, but your scripture twisting in various threads has been worrying enough, but now you've taken it way too far. You're crossing into dangerous territory... deleting words from the scriptures and inserting your own! We're not to add to or subtract from the word of God! That's a serious thing!

And again you don't read the entire chapter, you're just taking random verses and twisting them to suit yourself. Very worrying. We've already been over Romans in more than one thread but you reject what we share. It's clear you've already made up your mind and that anything we share will just fall on deaf ears.
Katy, a set of questions for you:

True or False

1) God saves you (T/F) ?
2) The Holy Spirit saves you (T/F) ?
3) The Holy Spirit is the Gift of God (T/F) ?
4) The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Grace (T/F) ?
5) Grace is power (T/F) ?
6) Grace is a Teacher (T/F) ?
7) The Holy Spirit is a Teacher (T/F) ?

Now each of the scriptures I quoted above contained the original, and then an additional insight gleaned.

Which which of the "modifications" have I lied to you?

Now coming back to scripture twisting, I can refer you back to the thread you started called: http://christianchat.com/bible-discussion-forum/138679-hebrews-6-4-6-not-seems.html

You see, by the words of your own mouth (Not as it seems) means it was quite obvious, but now you have to twist away to contort this scripture to fit your own doctrine, instead of the plain word of God.

Hebrews 6v4-6 is exactly as it seems.

Katy, a set of questions for you:

True or False

1) God saves you (T/F) ? -- true
2) The Holy Spirit saves you (T/F) ? -- false
3) The Holy Spirit is the Gift of God (T/F) ? -- true
4) The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Grace (T/F) ? -- but not the equivalent of the grace of God Who gives us the Spirit.
5) Grace is power (T/F) ? Grace is NOT power.
6) Grace is a Teacher (T/F) ? Grace is not a teacher, God teaches us in His grace.
7) The Holy Spirit is a Teacher (T/F) ? But He takes of the things of Christ and reveals them unto us.
,

Now each of the scriptures I quoted above contained the original, and then an additional insight gleaned.
YOUR additional insight, not God's

You cannot just use words and phrases and twist them to mean what you want to say. It is in fact not grace which is a teacher, but God's grace that teaches you.

God saves you by graciously sending his own Son into the world, The Holy Spirit did not do that. Where does it say that the Holy Spirit saves you? You are mixing up your doctrines and mixing up the persons of the Godhead,.

We believe or have faith through grace Acts 18:27.
Acts 18
[SUP]27 [/SUP]And when he desired to cross to Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him; and when he arrived, he greatly helped those who had believed through grace;

Nice one Johnny.

Here again because you are hard of hearing....

Titus 2
[SUP]11 [/SUP]For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, [SUP]12 [/SUP]teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, [SUP]13 [/SUP]looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, [SUP]14 [/SUP]who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

So do you want to retract your statement valiant, or continue in ignorance?

Luke 1
[SUP]35 [/SUP]And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.

Another statement for you to retract.

And yet another retraction in order.

do you want to keep reading Titus, where chapter 3 says we are not saved by works, but by grace alone??

also, making a point, then plucking out verses to back up YOUR point is not Biblical teaching, it is just noise with no content.

I do not believe we can lose faith if faith is not exercised.

I do believe faith can remain weak if it is not exercised, but i do not believe faith becomes non-existent.
Copied across from the other thread.

Colossians 1v21-23

21 And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled <become believers> [SUP]22 [/SUP]in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight— [SUP]23 [/SUP]if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.

Now what is plain to see is this:
-These were believers above
-They were to be presented holy, blameless and above reproach (no scope for unrepentant sin in a believers life)
-this is possible (IF THEY CONTINUED IN THE FAITH) - grounded, steadfast, not moved.

Other evidences:

Luke 22 v31-32

[SUP]31 [/SUP]And the Lord said,[SUP][c][/SUP] “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. [SUP]32 [/SUP]But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”

Now what is plain to see is this:
-If it were not possible for faith to fail, as the strong delusionalists claim, then it would not be necessary for Jesus to have had to pray to the Father this prayer above.

1 Timothy 2 v18-20

[SUP]18 [/SUP]This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, [SUP]19 [/SUP]having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck, [SUP]20 [/SUP]of whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I delivered to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme.

2 Timothy 2 v16-19
[SUP]16 [/SUP]But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness. [SUP]17 [/SUP]And their message will spread like cancer. Hymenaeus and Philetus are of this sort, [SUP]18 [/SUP]who have strayed concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past; and they overthrow the faith of some. [SUP]19 [/SUP]Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ[SUP][c][/SUP] depart from iniquity.”

Now what is plain to see is this:
-its possible to stray concerning the truth
-its possible to once have known the truth but to have strayed therefrom
-faith can be overthrown.
-these people are no longer saved. Because you can only receive salvation through faith.
-sin is still a factor " Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity". Contrary to what the strong delusionalists say.

Jude
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.

Now what is plain to see is this:
-contending for the faith - its a prize. It is to be protected, defended, fought for.
-by not contending for this, it can be lost.

2 Timothy 4v7-8

[SUP]7 [/SUP]I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

[SUP]8 [/SUP]Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Now what is plain to see is this:
-Paul, writer of most of the New Testament, fought the good fight. Finished the course. And KEPT the faith.
-why would it be necessary for him to write about "kept the faith" if it wasn't possible to have lost faith.

1 John 5v4
[SUP]4 [/SUP]For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our[SUP][a][/SUP] faith.

Now what is plain to see is this:
-Our faith is what overcomes the world. We are supposed to OVERCOME THE WORLD.
-What is the world? (definition:1 John 2v16 [SUP]16 [/SUP]For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world).

Revelation 2v10b
10(b) Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Now what is plain to see is this:
-Faith is not a once off, momentary decision, applicable for all time.
-Faith, once received, once believed, is to be maintained.
-the corollary is this - if you are NOT faithful until death, or lose your faith, you shall not receive the crown of life.

The word is very clear - its to him who overcomes:
Revelation 2v7b To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life
Revelation 2v11b He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.
Revelation 2v17b To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat.
Revelation 2v26 [SUP]26 [/SUP]And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations—
Revelation 3v5 He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life
Revelation 3v12He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more.
Revelation 3v21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne

Now to those who lose the faith. Who once had the faith yet turned their backs on Christ, we have the subject matter of the 'other' thread. Which is clearly visible for all to see below:

Hebrews 6v4-6

[SUP]4 [/SUP]For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, [SUP]5 [/SUP]and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, [SUP]6 [/SUP]if they fall away,[SUP][b][/SUP] to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.

Now what is plain to see is this:
-Let there no no illusions that these were believers, and were once in the faith.
-once they "fall away" (and we can see that this is a very real risk warned about by the NT writers, as well as Jesus) to be renewed again unto repentance.

Amen...our minds can get messed up by wrong teachings like this - "lose your salvation" one and it destroys people's faith in what Christ has done and replaced the grace of God for our own efforts to save ourselves. Christ is our Savior.

True biblical belief is of the heart - not in the head or mind. God looks on the heart - man look on the outward appearance.

Getting "saved" is simple but it was not cheap - it cost our Lord His life on this earth and His blood to obtain "eternal redemption" for us. Heb 9:12.

To lessen His work to call it "cheap grace or greasy grace" or "easy believism" is not being very responsible and it lessens the work that He has done for us.

Romans 10:9-10 (NASB)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;

[SUP]10 [/SUP] for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

The process is simple too.

1) we hear the message of Christ - the gospel of our salvation in Him

2) we believe the message from our hearts

3) we were sealed with the Holy Spirit

( Jesus said in John 14:16 that the Holy Spirit will be with us and in us forever - now was Jesus lying or is he like a "bait and switch" car salesman that has "fine print" which He doesn't talk about )

Ephesians 1:13 (NASB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, = 1)

the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, = 2)

you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, = 3)

you were sealed =
aorist indicative tense / passive voice = a one time event in the past.

Passive voice = the sealing was not done by us but by an outside force - the Holy Spirit Himself.

Let's look at Titus 3

[SUP]5 [/SUP]not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

The Holy Spirit saves.

The problem usually boils down to one seeing descriptive texts as prescriptive texts and then making it appear as "these are the things you have to do to get into heaven." No, those are the things persons who are truly converted do; They're not doing it to get to heaven, they are doing it because they are already on their way there and are truly converted.

The OP makes it appear as "If you want to get to heaven start doing these things." It is placing trust in the persons actions and not fully in Christ and the true conversion that he works within His sheep.

All of these things have been answered in the light of the work of Christ and they do NOT mean believers go to hell.

All these scriptures have been addressed multiple times by many people. You simply do not believe that Jesus keeps us and that we have eternal redemption in Him. Heb. 9:12 and you are entitled to believe what you want.

I don't know why you are constantly putting up threads to get believers to constantly doubt their salvation in Christ. Without the proper foundation in the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ - these warning scriptures get taken out of context and bring fear and hopelessness to some that are struggling with the flesh and learning how to walk by the spirit so that they don't fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

Try preaching Christ and Him crucified and believers crucified with Him - then when we have the proper foundation in Him - then the warning scriptures will have their place and help protect us from living from our own self-righteousness which takes us off the true faith - which is complete reliance on what Christ has already done in His work on the cross and resurrection.

Here, read a few verses on from Hebrews 6v4-6

Hebrews 6v8
[SUP]8 [/SUP]but if it bears thorns and briers, it is rejected and near to being cursed, whose end is to be burned.

So the end of such one who falls away is exactly as I have previously addressed.

Chris1975 said:
-by not contending for this, it can be lost.
You have yet to prove faith can be lost.

I agree faith can be weak, but it is not "lost" or "removed".

Jesus spoke of those who had "little" faith in the following verses:

Matthew 6:30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Matthew 8:26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

Matthew 14:31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

Matthew 16:8 Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?

Jesus did not say they had "no" faith. Just "little".

God gives to every man the measure of faith (Rom 12:3). We know that Romans 10:17 says faith by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (the word "cometh" was added by translators for clarification). As we "hear" God's Word and trust that Word of God we "hear", God works in our heart to strengthen/increase our faith.

In Romans 4:19 we are told that Abraham was not "weak in faith".

In Romans 14 read about those who are "weak in faith".

Just think about it for a while.

I've been on the OP, so no need to say going back. Reread my last post, it addresses your OP and shows your rudimentary mistake.

You don't truly understand grace, I'm sorry, but that is a fact. This is why you continuously conflate prescriptive and descriptive texts in your confused gospel.

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. - Philippians 2:12-13

Thus it is ever Soli Deo Gloria. Yes, all the glory goes to God because it is through His working in us alone. It is He who causes these things; Ezekiel 36:27.

You should disengage from your Soli Hominis Gloria, Pars Hominis Gloria and Pars Deo Gloria. How is it that you perpetually conflate descriptive texts as being prescriptive texts?

I don't know why you are constantly putting up threads to get believers to constantly doubt their salvation in Christ.
I can assure you I have a greater love for the well-being of the body of Christ than you do. I am calling them to a saving faith, and an understanding of what grace really means.

It's not the flaky version that you punt, which allows unrepentant sin to be overlooked. This sir, will lead to their eternal condemnation.

Your version sends them to hell. Its the tickling of the ears. A gospel of tolerance. The real gospel is not a gospel of tolerance. The path is a narrow one. God is a jealous God. He will not share his bride. He will not overlook their continued adultery with the world. He has called us OUT of the world. There is no fellowship between darkness and light.

Removing / replacing words from verses is foolish. You know it. I know it. I know you know it. And now you’re trying to rationalize your error. You need some time with Father.
Feel free to answer the questions posed in post #41.
More rationalization.

I will not join you in your foolishness.

You need some Father time.
