For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required:
and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
in the OT, there are (9) categories of 'sin', sins of 'ignorance being the least', which is reflected
in the above scripture, and the 'worst' is referred to as a 'high-handed-sin', and that is, that when
somebody knows God's Word and Will, and absolutely refuses to do it.
it's really just common-sense that 'stealing food to feed your family', is not in the same
category as 'murder and rape and terrorism'...
even our own 'justice-system' differentiates crime...

Im not trying to attack you,I am just trying to explain why the sin is serious. If Im coming across the wrong way I want you to know Im not attacking,just telling you the truth.
If you read back I said there is a difference of someone trying to come out of the lifestyle and knows it is a sin,that is different then one who is living the lifestyle. If someone is watching porn and has no compunction about it then no they are not a Christian. Honestly struggling people doing their best to separate from that sin is different than those who continually live the lifestyle. And in both situations they need to be in pastoral counseling.
Hey, Shorty. Don't miss the point here. LOL Many of us who are Christians, remain in some sort of bondage to SOMETHING... and will still remain in that struggle till the day we die. This is not what we are talking about when we are speaking of the consistent and explicitly targeted celebration of the homosexuality of certain singers.
That one thing, alone, should be a reason for flags. So, they are queer. So what? How does this need to been seen as a particular point to push?

well, the Bible does speak about all sin, but homosexuality is specifically mentioned as an afront to God
perhaps you might read Romans 1
this was also the specific sin that resulted in the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah being destroyed by God
it does not matter if you are against something. what matters, is how God views it and we need to align ourselves with what God says about something
if I was not a Christian, I doubt I would care less about someone's sexuality because I have a kind of live and let live outlook and figure what people do is their business. however, as a Christian, I align myself with what God says on the matter
this does not mean persecuting those in sin. we are to pray for them

THere's a difference between a continued sinful lifestyle and someone who promotes that compared to a sinner that's saved by God's grace through faith. The one has to sin because they are in bondage to sin and the one saved by God has been freed by the Lord, we can now live or lives righteous and pleasing Him because by HIs power working in us we change, we begin to hate sin and desire to live in a Godly manner.
When we get saved, we are changed from the inside out. We're a new creation, old things are past and all things become new. Each one of us will grow (sanctification) and be changed from our evil sinful ways and we will begin to live and desire to live in a righteous way.
When I grieve over my sin, that shows I have a relationship with God. Before I was born-again I could have cared less about God. I didn't know Him and I didn't know I was a sinner.
The homosexual, the liar, the gossip or whatever sin you want to highlight, they all what some of us were, but we aren't now. We're holy, righteous and called sons of God, fellow heirs with Christ.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.
The person who promotes a gay lifestyle and says the scriptures don't forbid homosexuality are deceived and don't know God because God makes it plain to us what sin is. If a person began promoting lying or gossiping and they say the scriptures don't forbid it, I would question them as well.
A person will promote who they are. If they are a sinner, they will promote sin.
If they are a believer, they will promote, holiness, righteousness and above all - obedience to God and His word enabled by the power of God showing us our sin as we walk in the Spirit instead of the flesh.

Exactly. I just think Christians take a wrong approach at it. I have a friend who used to be a porn addict and I have seen many threads started for those that are aa dedicated to porn and everyone says prayers for them and encourages them to keep fighting. And that is great! That is how we should battle sin, with encouragement for others, but when it comes to being gay others bi or whatever else there is it is acted upon as the only wrong in the world and "you'll never be saved because your gay" or something is wrong with you because you have this sin.
I just think we should stop attacking it and try to encourage and fight through it like we do every other sin

I dont know who "we" is. I know God delivers homosexuals. No doubt about it.
Well i think your probably feeling like we are saying its worse because like I said its all the same but currently in this generation the church is having to be more loud about the harmfulness of homosexuality. So the loudness may look like we are putting it higher than the others but honestly if lying was to be made popular and promoting it as normal and polluting our families, spreading disease, and confusing youngins about natural sexual relations. Then yes lying would be preached just as loud.
Repeated sin without remorse will only take you farther away from God. This is why I said a mature Christian will do as post 24. But the further you get the weaker your faith becomes. Until one day this person may walk away to live in that sin and possibly never come back but die as an apostate.
Of course thats my belief and take it for what it is and do your own research because others and maybe you will disagree with this post.

i have about 5 members in my family who think they follow Jesus and are homosexual or trans
if you tell them they are in sin that leads to death they will wanna fight...
deny scripture
play shame tactics
fling dirt
its not easy
but yes
we should try to help all sinners see the correct way
even if they hate us for it

Well the Bible does say it is worse than other sins,certain sins carried the death penalty in the OT and homosexuality was one of them. I know its popular and PC today to accept homosexuality as no different than other sins,but it is. And said before,Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed because of this very sin. Very serious sin and we should treat it as such. Its a sin against our own bodies.God takes it very seriously.
Living a homosexual lifestyle is in the same lists as outbursts of anger, being deceitful, having envy, causing strife, having malice towards someone, slandering others in the body of Christ, jealousy and "things like these."
Overeating is a form of lasciviousness which means "without restraint" and is often used to show unrestraint in sexual activity. This overeating will destroy our bodies and we will leave this earth quicker then we should have because of this behavior.
All these works of the flesh will bring destruction to us in some form or other albeit the chance to get AIDS in men living he homosexual lifestyle will end a life quicker than having malice will but they both are sinning. ( missing the mark of participating in God's quality of life )
Living by the flesh is usually a result of being under the preaching of the law of some sort as it incites sinning. Christians that are living by the flesh need to hear the true gospel of the grace of God in Christ. - that they have died with Christ on the cross and been raised to a new creation - created in righteousness and holiness.
This is why it is paramount to be preaching the love and grace of God for people so that they will have the proper nutrients to grow up in Him and not fulfill the lusts of the flesh to do "it's" desires.
Then with this proper foundation in Christ - the warning scriptures will have their place in the believer's life and stop them from trying to live by their own works and self-effort instead of relying on the righteousness of God in Christ.

[SUP]17 [/SUP] For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
The proper understanding of the gift of righteousness for those who Christ is in them and the reliance on Christ's work is paramount as grace reigns or rules or comes into manifestation in righteousness.
Awake to righteousness and sin not. Awake means to "sober up to be who you are, to come to one's true self". When we see that we are the righteousness of God in Christ - this will supply the nutrients for the believer to walk in who they already are in Christ.
Walking by the spirit will stop us from fulfilling the lusts of the flesh. ( walking by the spirit is simply "being who you truly are in Christ" as we see what He has done and that we are one with Him.)
If anyone be in Christ they are a new creation - Behold - look, perceive, see - old things have passed away - all things have become new. Just what are those "new things"?
