I've been drinking them for a while, plus roiboos tea and caffeine free black tea.

I definately sleep better since I switched to them and I'm sure they help with certain
things.

I wondered how many others have tried herbal teas.

Here are some of my favourites, I usually have them with honey.

Really nice to sip if you have a cold.

This might not sound good, but it's really refreshing and surprising tasty.

I drink all types and everyday. I switched from coffee to white, green, yellow, red, and black tea. I like loose tea better but obviously tea bags are cheaper and convenient. I usually enjoy the flavor plain. But sometimes like honey in it.

I was reading the other day that loose teas tend to be better quality, but I suppose
it all depends which you buy. :)

Hi Miri,

Love herbal teas, I have a great one that is really useful if you have a flu/cold

We use....

* Fresh ginger big pieces finely sliced (use as much as you want) add to a pot for boiling with 4 cups of water (add more water if you use a lot of ginger)

* Add 3 large cloves of garlic (crushed) to the ginger and water. Biol the contents for 10 mins and let steep (5 min)

* In a large cup add a table spoon of honey and cayenne pepper (powdered) to taste and half a freshly squeezed lemon or lime juice

After the ginger and garlic has steeped poor the strained contents into your cup and your ready to drink.

Very soothing on sore throats and great to help you get over your cold/flu.

God Bless

Sounds good enough to eat! :D

When we were in the Wadi Rum desert in Jordan a few weeks ago we were given herbal tea by the Bedouins, it was good - different. Later when we were back in Israel I bought something that I thought might be similar but I have yet to try it.

They are better quality because tea leafs cant be mechanically harvested. They are still harvested by hand. And then they go threw very delicate processes from plucking, to withering, to rupturing/rolling, to firing/deactivating ppo enzymes, to drying.

And each variety of tea takes certain times at the different processes.

Also your best teas will be used by the top leafs.

The tea bags are basically the small little pieces that are low quality

As long as the tea is accessing the bodies Krebs cycle mechanism as opposed to stressing the adrenal system, your good to go.

I've tried green, black, white and red tea. :) Never heard of yellow tea though.

I don't drink it often. I usually drink only one cup of iced coffee in the morning, 2 cups if the container is almost empty.. lol

I like regular tea as much as I like coffee.

But, if I grow it, I have to try it. So far, chamomile! I love when the chamomile comes in. (I feel guilty for plucking flowerheads, but I've learned to deal with it.) No sweetener needed. Probably why I like it. It's naturally sweet.

I'm tempted on trying lavender, sage, clover, (oh, btw, you'll be happy to learn God finally let me have dandelions in my garden -- woohoo!), and basil, but I just don't know if they're any good as tea, and don't want to waste them, if they aren't.

So, if anyone knows what herbs would be good as herbal teas, let me know. We grow herbs for seasonings and to attract bees to pollinate, but I'm the chicken who doesn't know what would make a sweet herbal tea too. (And, no. Dandelion isn't sweet, so they don't count. And oregano and thyme are too spicy for teas. lol)

Wow you grow your own tea! I'm impressed.

As for dandelions, I can send you them by the crate load!

So does that get to 3 cups if the second is almost empty.

Yellow tea, called huángchá in Chinese and hwangcha in Korean, is a rare and expensive variety of tea. It is produced similarly to green tea, but with an added step of being steamed under a damp cloth after oxidation, giving the leaves a slightly yellow colouring. This process also imparts a mellower and less grassy taste than is found in green teas.

Man I love Chinese teas! I have traveled to many places in China and have visited some of the Chinese tea houses. One time we purchased one of the flower teas. This was amazing when you buy it it looks like a packet of tiny tiny little balls. But when you steep it in boiling water all those little balls expand and turn into these lovely white flowers. It makes a kind of yellow tea that tastes amazing and very refreshing! One of the best teas I have ever tried. They have so many different kinds of amazing teas in Asia, especially the medicinal ones

God's Blessing everyone
