No one needs a reward, but the Lord loves to give them,

we we all need salvation, and all the rewards in the universe are meaningless if we are not saved, and we can. OT earn salvation, ever,
AMEN to that....if we can earn it...Jesus did not need to die.....after all...it is either by GRACE or by WORKS and if by WORKS it is not by GRACE........

the two cannot be mixed...like oil and water.....IMPOSSIBLE

This is lacking any biblical comprehension and exactly why you miss the mark pal.....and straight from the pits of hell......!
His false gospel is straight from the flaming pits.........satanic as can be.....!
What I love about the way some treat others is the full on condemnation, and judgmentalism.

When people talk like this there are actually only two alternatives.
They either have no clue what they are saying and just abuse others like a bully in a china shop,
or they are inspired on a biblical basis.

Now if the biblical basis is shaky and the person is sharing an emphasis of our faith, then this
is the very approach Jesus and Paul both condemn as wrong behaviour.

Jesus says simply with the measure they give so it will be measured unto them.

Now because the emotional determination is so forceful, it gives me the impression this is just
missplaced and wrong.

To send a brother to Hell unfortunately warrants the same judgement on themselves.

But to someone with a seared conscience such an issue means nothing, which speaks volumes
to where they are really standing, and is the main reason I doubt everything about them.

We are called to be beacons of the light of love in our hearts, to let this victory and power shine
out for others to see and desire it for themselves. It is a light of love and sharing, yet here we
have displayed the opposite.

Jesus died not only to get us into Heaven, but to get God out of Heaven and into us. (in a manner of speaking)
I like that

thats' why Jesus in His day spoke in parables to those minding the flesh, because they could only rationalize fleshly things, beings that things of the Spirit were most foreign to them and made no sense...It's no difference among the religious circles today.. things of the Spirit make no sense to them, Matt. 13-15
So can I ask what you posted that made no sense to me was you in fact posting a parable?

Jesus did not pay any sin debt, for a dept paid cannot possibly be forgiven,(therefore canceling out mercy, of the which triumphs over condemnation)...... but rather at Calvary He purchased the souls of whosoever should deny themselves, pick up their cross of persecution, and follow after Him, in that they might through repentance be reconciled back to God via His wonderful mercy, and he that endures to the end, the same shall be saved.....That my friend is the finished works of Christ..in short He established the New Covenant and did away with the old....But this mercy, love, and long suffering will by no means justify the guilty sinners who repented not Exodus 34, because the wrath of God abides still upon the children of disobedience, and the servant of sin abides NOT in the house forever....
We need to distinguish between the OT & The NT.

In the OT they were under the law, not just the Mosaic Law but the Levitical law.

Jesus summed up Mosaic Law, 10 commandments into 2 commandments.

Matthew 22:36-40
“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”
Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

In fact he even took it further by telling us to love our enemies, do good to them and pray for those who persecute us.

When Jesus said it is finished, when to whole sins of the world were placed on him, he meant it was finished.
All sins were forgiven of men, only one sin remains that cannot be forgiven.

A price had to be paid for sin, that caused a barrier between us and God. When Jesus said it is finished, the price was paid and the temple curtain was torn it two. We now have free access to God and come before his throne as a result of faith in Jesus.

Nothing more or nothing less. If we add to it we are saying the price Jesus paid was not enough and we need to add something to the ledger to balance the books.

Its a false insurance policy to do so.

At Calvary Jesus purchased the souls for everone even those who at the time denied him. Yes even Peter who did 3 times and Thomas who doubted and would not believe until he put his fingers in his scars.

People did not have deny themselves and take up their cross daily in order to be saved.

This is what is required to be saved.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 16:8-9
And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me;

The sin in unbelief in him but whoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life.

Now when

Romans 10:9-10
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Then as a result we have the Holy Spirit who is in us to help us to deny ourselves, in a sense saying "Let me shrink and you increase.

To me it's not just the finished works of the cross but the start of new works as a result of the cross.

Me in Jesus and Jesus in me.

Philippians 1:6
being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;

God's Laws were written in heaven first and then, handed down to us, His servants
to obey and honor and love and live in His Will with all of our hearts...

our Love/duty to Him, is to learn how to 'deny our self will' and submit to His Holyness...

dc - My point is simple. People us language in different ways. For instance sin debt
is not a biblical term.

He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.
Col 2:13-14

Now here is the reference of debt, but this is a legal indebtedness which is cancelled,
not paid. So though in evanglical theology the idea of a debt, a life for a life is a common
way of expressing redemption, people express the same thing but using different words.

That is why until you know what they mean, which may be the same thing as you mean,
how can one jump to judge them as non-believers.

This is why I wonder at you and you knee jerk reactions.

I was working in an evanglising situation in one hindu country and the active believer was
a catholic priest. I took him at face value and worked and fellowshiped with him.
The deeper issues of loyalty and doctrine were not relevant to go through there, but to
share a common faith and desire to serve the King. I have often found we are closer to
people than we realise, and the worst thing we can do is push away friends, I would much
more wish to win them as friends and brothers and sisters in the faith, if this is possible.

Amen.

ANY biblical, righteous work done out of love is Spirit led......The spirit is indeed willing, but the flesh is weak........people sin when they surrender to the will and desire of the flesh.....If it is not of FAITH it is sin.....this does not lead a saved child of God to the lose of salvation as "sonship" is eternally secure although fellowship can be suspended based upon or stance if it is not in light as he is in the light........
