How would it affect us if we had no one around us to love us? No friends or family. Just God, only.

How would your life change?

There are people like that in the world. Some folks like me are very nearly there because of our personalities, anxieties, fears.

When God is all you have; when you feel as though God is the only being who loves you - the relationship takes on a very deep meaning. God is no longer an afterthought or a friend treated with neglect. When who you have is God, and since God is love, you are able to learn what love really is and what it really feels like. If you have God, you have love.

I am an INTJ, introverted, shy 15-year-old Aspie who rarely hangs around with anyone besides my Muslim best friend and my parents. Without them, I would most likely just collapse into a dark pit of insanity and misery :/

Edit: Ohhhh, so I still have God? ...Then idk how to answer this anymore without offending some people. Okay then.

I guess it wouldn't change me too much
It's pretty much all ready that way for me
What everyone here has so far said is true
It's definitely something that will make zealot out of you
I guess maybe some people love me
They just never really show it
And there's more enemies around me than I know what to do with
Lately I am becoming something of a hermit
Being ostracized from societies gives you a fresh take
It really shows you who is genuine and who is fake
It's somewhat amazing there's many here that have a nice mask
When they were down I showed them compassion
But when I was down those same people kicked me on the ground
The mob rules this town, it's an ancient story that's long been around

I'm living without love, but that's mostly because I'm rather eccentric. I have a new wed daugther that is nothing like her mother, I'm proud to say. My life style makes me do all kinda weird stuff. Last winter I re-enlisted and spent weeks at sea before they decided my back was to worn out for them.

So I'm back home, gotten my old job back and even got a welcome home black eye from one of our regulars the other day...so my face looks just great now.

Maybe I should move to Alaska, I hear there is plenty of space up there and few street thugs. Hahaha...lol

We would be miserably depressed.
If God saw that Adam needed Eve even in his unfallen state, how much more do we need people around us now.

Actually I heard about an experiment done by a certain unethical group of people, where they raised a babies with completely mechanical interaction. No holding the baby, no speaking to it, no tactile or emotional support at all. It seems the babies died for no apparent reason.

However this experiment was attributed to the Russians, the Nazis, the Chinese and even the US government, so I'm fairly certain the story is not exactly true. Still, it doesn't sound like any kind of life worth living.

There is the monkey experiment though. The following is taken from History Module: The Devastating Effects of Isolation on Social Behaviour

"In the 1960s, Harry Harlow developed an experimental model that took Spitz’s studies even further. In a series of experiments that might be considered cruel today, Harlow took monkeys just a few hours after birth and raised them for 3, 6, or even 12 months in complete isolation from any other monkeys, including their mothers. At the end of the isolation period, when put back with other monkeys, the monkeys who had been isolated remained physically healthy, but their social behaviour was completely disturbed. They would huddle in the corners of their cages and rock back and forth the way some autistic children do; they did not interact with other monkeys, or play, or show any sex drive."

Well, I'm not sure because I've never been in that situation so I'll take it from someone who knows: "Then God said, 'It is not good for man to live alone...'"

God can say that all he wants, try finding someone who will put up with a man.

LOVE never cease to exist. GOD alone suffices. See the Hermits who go on remote areas and be alone. But being alone without GOD in ones soul is all emptiness. We need to go out of our strong attachment of "self" Slowly release self from fears of being with other people and making friends.

It's strange that you phrase this as a hypothetical question when there are many many many people in this world that live years alone and many more that don't conciously have God.

I think that the belief in God may be primal because many have it on a subconscious level even though they don't admit it.

Think of all of those non believers with no positive reason to live that don't off themselves, they are probably like that because subconsciously they are aware of the possibility of going to hell.

On a positive note and back on topic, I've been alone for maybe 25 yrs, I honestly never gave a lot of thought to God until it was obvious that the world is ending.

Now that I do think of God daily I feel better than I did for the past 20yrs, I was never really lonely but His presence is definitely comforting.

I'm curious why someone would ask this question. I began to write my experience but then I decided against it because its extremely personal and I realized that I'm not comfortable sharing it.
