The Greek word for 'eternal' is aion and it means....


  1. for ever, an unbroken age, perpetuity of time, eternity
  2. the worlds, universe
  3. period of time, age

Whilst the Christ was being crucified, God was in complete control. Nothing's changed.

I see that you didn't see fit to answer any question that I asked you. I said nothing about the world being in chaos (although it is). And yes, God's plan for salvation was carried out.

Job was blameless in the sight of God and the point that is being made is that even righteous people suffer - which was totally against what Job's "miserable comforters" thought. They (Job's miserable comforters) believed God protected the righteous and only allowed the unrighterous to suffer, and had concluded that Job was unrighteous. They said that Job had many sins (11, 15:5, 22:5 and 34:37 [NASB]), and that his children had sinned, which is why they were killed (8:4). God is not a bored puppeteer who gets his kicks by tormenting one of his puppets and killing a lot of innocent bystanders just to win a bet with the Devil . . if the devil actually has to get God's permission to do evil then evil would be easy to stop for God could just say NO. If Satan has to truly ask for permission, where are examples of this in the NT? There is a lesson to learn from the book of Job and it is not that Satan has to ask permission to be allowed to do anything . . . it shows that Job did not love God only because of what God had done for him but loved Him because He is God, worthy of love no matter what the circumstances were in his life - In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing." If Satan had to ask God's permission before doing evil then the so-called "war" between the forces of good and evil would be a sham.

Simple bottom line - God's people suffer great trials and tribulations . . . the devil is the god of this world (2 Cor. 4:4) and the world is under his control. (1 John 5:19)

Remember, we're in the world, but no longer of the world, but called out of the world. We were under Satan's rule until God brought us out of it. If He had not brought us out, we'd still be in it. Satan has a leash that God allows him to do so much, and that's it. He rules Satan.

Actually the Scriptures do teach that satan and his minions need divine allowance to accomplish God's ends, not satans. You are purposefully overlooking this fact. This fact is seen in more than the book of Job.

The teaching is also in the NT as well because it remains truth.

You really need to employ 2 Timothy 2:15 because in this instance you are not.
 
The 'god of this world' tells us two things, who's god[Satan] and what he's god over, the world. The world here, in context, is solely the lost. The believers are not under Satan's rule, but God's rule. He's transferred us, the believers, from the kingdom of darkness, Satan's rule and reign, to the Kingdom of His dear Son.
 
If God wasn't over the 'god of this world', then we'd all still be lost. He's not gonna let us go and serve God unless He overrides Satan.

The last enemy to be destroyed is death . . Hebrews 2:14b . . that through death he might destroy him that has the power of death, that is, the devil. Has the devil been destroyed yet? Has death ACTUALLY been destroyed yet?

Rev. 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone . . . Rev. 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire . . .

Now seriously, is any of this heresy?

No..... Jesus is King now..... King of kings. Lord of lords.
 
Person 1: "Satan is in control."

Person 2: "Satan sure is being awful nice to us, seeing he is in control!"

Person 1: "Well, God only let's him do so much."

Person 2: "Um, then that means God is in control." ;)

We still live in the world but we are not to be a part of the world and it's wickedness - Yea, I have been seated in the heavenly places with Christ Jesus - BUT IT'S NOT A REALITY YET.

Why are we told to "Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour." (1 Peter 5:8)? and this: "so that no advantage would be taken of us by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes". (2 Cor. 2:11) and this: Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. . . . Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. (Ephesians 6) All of this is taught to us BUT it only applies if God holds Satan in check???? IOW, spiritual warfare isn't really REAL . . . .

Where is it stated that Satan is on a leash? Satan and death play a part in the world until they are thrown into the lake of fire.

Okay - please just show me an example from the NT that Satan ask permission from God to do something?

The first two chapters of Job are set as an allegory; (a story in which the characters and events are symbols that stand for truths about human life) - To teach that the righteous suffer along with the unrighteous, i.e. if you suffer it is not because you are unrighteous, as Job's miserable comforters were telling him - That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.. (Matt. 5:45)

This is a reference to the Millennium, the thousand year reign of Christ on earth. After His reign, He will finally, once and for all, put all His enemies under His feet.

NOTE: Until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ . . . WHICH HE WILL BRING ABOUT AT THE PROPER TIME

There are only two other verses referring Jesus to "King of Kings" and those are in Revelation 17:14 and Revelation 19:16 . . . both are when he is at war with evil . . These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords and King of kings: . . And he has on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords . . .
