Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death?

Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!

rom 7:24-25

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus ....
who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
rom 8:1-4

Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.
rom 8:8

Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it.

For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.
rom 8:12-13

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

Paul is clear, to know Christ you have to walk in the Spirit and put to death the
works of the flesh.

If you continue in sin you will die and not inherit salvation.

Those who wish to make grace irrelevant to behaviour are bringing condemnation
on themselves and walking in the flesh, and as Paul describes, will die.

The law is not complex, or even difficult to understand.

Love God, no graven images, do not take Gods name in vain, honour Gods rest,
honour your parents, do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not
lie about anyone, do not covet.

Is this so hard? Is this beyond you in the Holy Spirit through the cross?
Is your heart in such rebellion, that love has not broken in and set you free?

Do you know how precious you are to God? You must start again, wipe the slate
clean, learn afresh, set your heart and mind of things of heaven and not this world,
and put your faith in Christ. Amen.

baptists too a lot of the time
(not baptist myself)

i like the KJV the most

but after reading a few translations... i dont think its the ONLY place God preserved his word in English

and mormans are KJV + man made teachings

I think this thread should be closed by a moderator. It seems that it is repeating and causing division.

Brother DCON had a good thread in mind, but it's usefulness seems to have gone down the drain.

We are swirling the same old arguments over and over again and beat this topic into the ground. Neither camp is going to convince each other, so I ask a moderator to step and in close it.

I see no usefulness in this thread DCON, do the right thing and let it either die or ask a mod to close it down.

I see brothers/sisters fighting against brothers/sister and can see both sides, but this is getting stupid and foolish now.
I am seeing the smae remarks made to people who disagree that were stated months ago.

Will a spiritual grown up step and make the call and either close this thread or DCON, you need to have it done.

This is not a indictment against the thread started or anyone else...this thread is not accomplishing anything but sowing discord and seems to only be elevating individuals pride and defense of their own view and not elevating fruitful discussion.

This one needs to go and go now. I was guilty of commenting and getting stupid too, but come on bros/sisters let this one go. It is evident the lines are drawn and I would dare say it is not glorifying anything but flesh.

DCON do the right thing and be the spiritual mature grown up you are and lets let this one go.
hey bud,

i disagree, brothers and sisters are not dividing each other here, they are not fighting here, they are dividing each other in threads like how old is the earth, is there a rapture or not, when is God going to return, tongues threads, prophesy threads, and the like

in this thread we have two gospels being fought very good and evil being discussed, and false teachers trying to stand up to Gods people, while Gods people are holding firm to his gospel.

in this thread you have people screaming God has given us victory over sin, yet deny that power, you have people screaming God has the power to save, yet deny that power, that God has the power to change people yet deny that power,

the fighting is because Gods people are fighting for all to know that power, that God is able to change, he is able to save completely that which was or is lost,

close this thread, and 5 more just like it will open up,

case in point , this poster always posts about God delivering us from sin, that there is no condemnation to us in Christ,

yet then when he contradicts it by saying we must change ourself, that we must gain victory, that god evidently can not change us or give us victory, we must do it ourself,

Does God rescue us or not? Ask this poster, and many like him, he will declaired yes, then scream you must rescue yourself by doing all these things,

Interesting. Wonder who started this movement? And what satan's goal is... there must be a reason for it...

I think what can happen is that - the KJ "version" becomes the replacement for the Holy Spirit. The "book" itself becomes God but the scriptures are to lead us to Christ Himself.

Sometimes us Christians can make the scriptures to be "our God" and that can mean - it's our own "interpretation" of the scriptures that becomes the real "god" in our minds.

John 5:39-40 (NASB)
[SUP]39 [/SUP]
"You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me;

[SUP]40 [/SUP]and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life.

Actually plenty of accessible data on the internet if you are interested.
As for the goal - that is absolutely simple: to sow confusion and discord, to put a book above the message of the book, to replace God with an idol...

probabaly a way to cause division and confusion

if you have 1 real follower of Jesus who seeks God
but has the caviot of thinkin all other english translations aside from kjv are wrong

and another one who sees this movement and knows another translation is inspired (that they prefer).... so they assume kjv is wrong

these two hypothetical people probably wouldnt play nice until they discussed what Gods word says..

I agree with you in part. Surprise!!

We are follow to the Law of Love...John 13:34 " a new command I give you....

We do this now through the enabling power of the Holy Spirit and because he first loved us...it is not in our own strength and self effort.:)

And since we can never love perfectly like God it not tied to out salvation. Jesus loved perfectly, He is the only person who has been able to fulfill it there fore we live out this new law through Him.

We love each other as a witness and testimony to our faith not to gain salvation
UnderGrace,
Two comments.

The first is that you have to stop saying that love is a testimony to our salvation, not to gain salvation.
NO ONE HERE, that I can see, has ever said that we can do anything to gain our salvation.

Can we agree on that and get it out of the way??

What the disagreement is regards our life AFTER salvation.

Are good works necessary or not?
It's a very simple question that requires a very simple answer and yet the answers Always come in at least a page long, a complete dismissal (from Dcon and his "end of story" comments, as if HE is the oracle of God) or a lesson in Greek to make some work or sentence mean something it doesn't mean.

One day soon I'm going t do a blog on the Kingdom of God. I hope you read it.
IF we are to be in the Kingdom of God, then we MUST adhere to its rules and regulations.

WHO stipulated the rules?
JESUS.

Jesus said that the time is fulfilled, it has come and is at hand. He is speaking of the Kingdom of God.
He said to repent and believe in the gospel.

What is the gospel? The good news.
1. Through Jesus we now have access to heaven, whereas before it was closed to all, even those with faith. They also were awaiting the Messiah.

2. Jesus meant to set up HIS Kingdom here on earth.
He spoke of it through many parables...
Mathew 13:11-52

Jesus went through Galilee proclaiming the gospel of the Kingdom.
Mathew 4:23

Then Jesus went about explaining what the Kingdom was and how one could be part of it.
The Beatitudes
Mathew chapters 5 to 7

It explains how we are to be internally and externally.

IF we do not adhere to HIS regulations, we CANNOT be a part of the Kingdom.
Mathew 7:19

It's useless to keep arguing that we change because we love Him. Good.

But let's admit that we MUST CHANGE.

I do not see this change, BTW, in persons who are Always telling Others they are going to hell and who call Others that do not agree with them derogatory names.

If you read throught the N.T. you'll find that Jesus never really did speak about salvation too much, using that expression. Maybe once or twice.

He did, however, speak about the Kingdom many many times.
He wants us to belong to HIS KINGDOM.

We do works of faith. But they MUST BE DONE.

It's not possible to NOT DO WORKS, and claim to be a member of the Kingdom of God.

John 3:36 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

36 He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

Your verbiage seems to indicate that this is exactly what you believe...The just shall live by faith.....the works are the result....for a saved child of God the works will determine your inheritance....the dividing line if FAITH....even the saved have some works that are not righteous....

The saved are rewarded according to their works

The lost are judged according to their works

and it is clear that two judgments take place....The Bema seat of Christ for reward (the saved) and the great white throne of GOD for the lost......

YOU WORDS that seem to belie that you push a café blend of faith and works for salvation which is false....

you will then live a life of ever increasing obedience to God (aka, love). That's why Christ will be separating the righteous from the unrighteous on the day of judgment on the basis of what each did

Which is why James was not lying when he said faith has to have works attached in order for the believer to be saved on the last day. And it isn't because work has the power to earn a person a place in the kingdom. It's because work is what the faith that justifies all by itself looks like.

Our work will be the evidence God uses to confirm the righteousness we have solely through faith in Christ's forgiveness. But so many 'Christians' are convinced their faith 'alone', minus works of righteousness, on the day of judgment is going to save them.
Good morning Dcon,

Are YOU living a life of love?

Maybe if you believed you HAD to, for whatever reason,
You'd make more of an effort to show love to your Brother Chrisitans?

Just saying.

I wondered if it was just solely to cause division among born again believers. To the world it would just look like more christians that can't agree on anything, so not a good witness. God wants division between the truth and the lie, but unity among born again believers with truth.

I agree about it becoming an idol.

Don't know too much about this movement, but will look into it. I did once come across a church website that said they would not be a right fit for anyone who claimed "KJV only".

I don't see the fruit the same as works. Fruit is the result of our being...being in Him. Our identity.

Works are that which Jesus did. And He said we would do also.

None of this is by our own humanity, but the result of being Spirit. The result of being Spirit is from the works of Jesus which we accept by faith. The Cross and blood, and the resurrection and life. Faith produces a substance into the spiritual realm and the result is in our natural realm. We hear, and we see..then we do.

Anyone can do a natural deed that is good. But, only the Spiritual man can do the deeds of Christ by His power.

All is about the Spiritual man or woman.

We make this so difficult to understand but it's not. The work of Jesus, His whole life...His death and resurrection is what saves us.

Then begins our life as a new being. In Him.
Stone,
You're admitting that we are to continue the works of Jesus?
Then why do you fight me on this?

One other point:

You said above that even atheists do good works.
Well --- by what power do THEY operate ?

Is it so wrong to say that WE ourselves, with the HELP of the Holy Spirit, do these works?
I've said repeatedly that if it's Jesus doing the works in us and through only HIS power, then when we fail, we must blame Jesus as not having been capable of keeping us.

Romans 6:11-19 explains how we are not to sin. How sin is not to be master over us. How our flesh is weak. How we are to present our members as slaves to righteousness, RESULTING IN SANCTIFICATION.

It DOES NOT SAY that Jesus will do everything for us as if we were mere robots in His control.

We are spiritual,
But we still have A CHOICE.

As i sad, they preach Gods power, then deny it.

By their standard one one would have to be perfect, but they deny it, or as a side, they excuse their sin, it was just an oopsie,

They di do not realize they spit on the cross, and deny it, while professing it

it seems that there is no fear of God in some people, they think that they are sinless. me, I do fear God, and His righteous judgement, so I dare not stand on my own goodness and righteousness , I know it is far short of His perfect and holy standards.

I trust my Lord and Savior Jesus,
