Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Col 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Jesus took the physical ordinances of Israel out of the way,nailing them to His cross,for they were contrary to us,which they had no bearing on spiritual salvation,but was temporary until Christ came,and then they were done away with,so let no person judge you in those things,and give heed to them that you have to keep them,for the body is of Christ,the Holy Spirit given us access.

Eph 2:11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
Eph 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
Eph 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
Eph 2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
Eph 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
Eph 2:16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
Eph 2:17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
Eph 2:18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

Since they could not have the Spirit in the Old Testament,they could not keep the laws of love perfectly,so God had them do physical ordinances,and physical laws,to be right with Him until Christ came,and under the New Testament we can have the Spirit,so the physical ordinances do not apply for they have nothing to do with spiritual salvation.

The laws of love were in the Old Testament,the ten commandments,love God,and love people,and any law that had to do with love,and morality,which concerning those laws Paul said they were spiritual,holy,just,and good,and we do not void out those laws through faith,but we establish the law.

The 2 greatest commandments are love God,and love people,and on those 2 laws hang all the prophets,and law.

Jesus said a new commandment I give you that you love one another as I have loved you,for we can have the Spirit in the New Testament,and can love people perfectly.

Love works no ill towards their neighbor;therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

The Old Testament with the physical ordinances,and laws,were given to the Jews,not the Gentiles,but creation testifies that there is a God,and of His attributes,which one of them is love,for He provided food,and the means to make clothing,and shelter,the universal law throughout the history of mankind that covers the 2 greatest laws,love God,and love people,for that is what it is all about at all times.

It is about the 2 greatest laws,love God,and love people,and Jesus broke the wall of partition between the Jews,and Gentiles,by abolishing in His flesh the enmity,the law of commandments contained in ordinances,to make of the Jews,and Gentiles,one new man,that abide by love God,and love people,and the physcial ordinances,and physical laws,have no place concerning spiritual salvation.

Creation testifies there is a God,and He is love,so we should love God,and love people,is the universal law for all people,so the world has no excuse,but the Bible says the Jews had the advantage over the Gentiles,for the words of God were given to them.

1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1Ti 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
1Ti 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
1Ti 4:4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
1Ti 4:5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

In the New Testament all meat is good,and nothing to be refused,for it is spiritual in the New Testament,so it is clean if it is received with thanksgiving,for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer,where in the Old Testament it was not spiritual,although they had salvation if they followed the Old Testament covenant,so meats had a separation between clean and unclean,where that does not apply under a spiritual covenant.

In the New Testament let no persn judge you,and say to keep the clean and unclean meats law,for every creature is good,and nothing to be refused.

In the latter times they will command to abstain from meats,and to forbid to marry,but this is the new age movement,and their interpretation of the Bible based on nature worship,and spiritual evolution through the power of nature,that does not claim Jesus as Lord and Savior,but as a good teacher in spiritual enlightenment,and an acended master,and avatar,which they will command to abstain from eating meat,for they are nature worshippers,and forbid to marry for population reduction.

And we see how being a vegetarian,and homosexuality,is more popular than what it has been in the past,and one day it will be a universal law,no eating meat,and no marriage between a man and a woman,and the Bible says the man of sin will have no desire of women,which does not mean he will be homosexual,but that is not his goal to get married,but rule the world,and he abides by the universal law,a man and a woman cannot get married.

The old testament didnt offer salvation from what we are saved from. if you look closely at the Law and its promises, they are all like the Law itself, all carnal, temporal blessings, long years on earth, crops that yeild in season, treasures gained a good inheritance to leave children. Jesus came with something better His offer is Life beyond all the old offers. a blessed long l;ife on earth v. an eternal Life in the presence of God the Father, and His Son Jesus Christ. Glories far beyond our minds capability to even fathom. Life, peace, joy, no more tears, nor sorrows, eternity no more death, no more goodbyes.

while moses offered " if you keeop these statutes and commands, you will be healthy, you will be fruitful and multiply, have many sons and much to leave behind for them, you will be given the promised land of israel.

Jesus offers infinately More, infinately better so much better that our minds cant comprehend our rewards and the things we will see and even to be made Like Jesus Christ Our promised Land in Christ is a new Heaven and new earth a perfect One without sin or rebellion, death mourning or anything we have caused by sin in this place. to truly be children of God, filled with His spirit those things werent offered by the mosaic covenant. they were called children, but they didnt hear it or see it because they were afraid of God having a fallen spirit in sin. Jesus offers entirely more entirely different entirely better than anything found in the mosaic covenant. its why His teachings are so contradictory to moses, why the foundations of the gospel are so different from the Law. everything is so much better now, its a better covenant, with better promises, with better provisions, and the Holy spirit of God within us, with us, all around us.

The same spirit that raised up Jesus from death is with us and we have so much more forgiveness, so much better instructions, better ways in the gospel. the law is for the rebellious, the gospel is for the children of God eternal. That being said, the first covenant is in every way good, every way useful, in every way holy and still in many ways applies to us while we are on earth, it just doesnt govern our Hearts and lives because the spirit of God is within us to do Just that. things such as food laws are simply wisdom, good health, clean veins, the hygeine ordinances are simply good hygeine and things like washing your hands, thats just good wise instruction. its not that the law wasnt spiritual it definately is and was even then. the law didnt fail us, we failed the spiritual Law being sinners.

romans 7:14-15 "For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. 15For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. "

The solution to this, was for God to give us a new heart no longer corrupt, a new spirit of Him, the spirit of God making us children like His Son. the law is still spiritual, men just dont interpret it as spiritual we see the carnality of it from our flesh, when the spirit comes in full view the law is spiritual just for a different purpose than the gospel of Salvation.

But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

When Lord Jesus took over our priesthood in heaven, He did away with Levitical priesthood ordinances.

nothing to do with food.......... this was about peter going to the gentiles................ cornelius

this is a good argument for sure................ who can debunk it?

Actually it was!
Going to Cornelius' house - a Gentile - mean't accepting his hospitality, and that mean't accepting his food!
If you knew the hospitality customs of the day this is a no-brainer.
You could not enter a house and accept hospitality and then refuse the food - big no no!

THAT is why the vision was all about eating unclean food!

The answer to understanding this confusion about God’s Word can be found in the following verse.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

The reason for the confusion, in part, is answered in the following verses.

Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:

Amos 8:12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.

Where in Scripture did God do away with the Health/Food Laws?

If you can find it, please document it.

Thanks!
I am no expert on this, but I think those laws still pertain to the Jews. I don't think they ever pertained to Christians. On the other hand, it would do no harm to obey them, I suppose.
