It says plainly in the text that he sacrificed for his sons in case they had sinned.

Job knew about God...but in the end He knows God.

And many Christians go through the dark night of the soul. Its a testing place to go higher. Higher in spiritual realms.
Job 42:1-6
Chapter 42
Job's Repentance and Restoration
Then Job answered the Lord and said:
“I know that You can do everything,
And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You.
You asked, ‘Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?’
Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand,
Things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.
Listen, please, and let me speak;
You said, ‘I will question you, and you shall answer Me.’
“I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear,
But now my eye sees You.
Therefore I abhor myself,
And repent in dust and ashes.”

AMEN and DAVID also describe accurately the blessedness of the man to whom God IMPUTES RIGHTEOUSNESS by FAITH without the deeds of the LAW (WORKS)

SPONGEBOB denies this and states there is NOT ONE account of this in scripture.......SEEMS he cannot read or just sweeps this under the rug in favor of his "CAINOLOGY" I guess.....
With letters like that, I won't be needing to renew my lens prescription.

Amen Grace...if it isn't of Holy Spirit working in our life...it's our own trying to please God. Faith is what He desires and we obey by believing, then we do. If He is requiring a do.
Amen.....the realities of what Christ has done on the cross and resurrection is antagonistic against the humanistic belief of self-effort in order to create and maintain one's own righteousness.

These 2 pics says it all about being in Christ as new creation and He living His life through us because we are one with Him in the spirit.

Who do you think of this forum is committing vile sins of the flesh? I think most are speaking about faults, and calling it sins.

Like arguing...fleshly.
Greetings, i dont know or accuse any, however many accuse themselves by saying they sin daily in thought, word, and deeds..The devil can't do worse than that...Are their minds that full of filth like Ray Comfort says of his own mind? I dont know, they never clarify what types of sin they mean, they just lump them all together so one can only assume, not accuse, they could be speaking of the sins that Paul says if ye do theses things you will not inherit the kingdom...Then to take thongs further, some of them even want to call such people as Daniel, Job, Mary, etc. as being sinners. Do they not know that a sinner in the bible is the opposite of the faithful saints?..The term sinner in the text means one in rebellion to God, doing deliberate wilful sin, and refuses to come to the light that their deeds might be exposed. Of such as these the apostle Paul said it is written that there were none that do good..How can these self proclaimed sinners in thought, word, and deed, undermine the characters of the righteous men and women in the bible by calling them sinners....it is beyond me how anyone could blaspheme the charterer of these righteous people who lived by faithfulness to God...be blessed in you searching

In light of the American Holiday weekend I would like to propose a "cease Fire" from the thread until Wednesday July 5th...then we can all go back to blowing our brains out against each other....

Honestly...lets take a break from this one for a few days folks....I will be on the board some but think a break on this one would do me some good...besides the smoker is loaded with all sorts of fatty, salty goody proteins and it is a weekend to reflect and enjoy the freedoms we have in Christ and in the USA and the World....

Happy 4th to the folks in the USA and a great weekend to all our friends in the world...

he also dosent know what deeds of the law means...it means the religious ordinances of the laws of Moses, that were placed upon the Hebrew children in the wilderness because of disobedience. However those were nailed to the cross, not the moral law of God written by His finger....how conveniently do they wrest the scripture to their own destruction...

Then to take thongs further,
I don't wear a thong and I'm sure those who acknowledge they are not perfect do either.

My guess also is that people like David, Abraham, Peter, Job along with others whose sins were laid bare for us all to see wore thongs either.

the holiday weekend is of the world, it has no light therein, and has nothing to do with God and His holiness.... it elevates the mindless achievements of vain men who return evil for evil and glory in the flesh while doing so...However, in the light of the God, let us not be proud and esteem one day above another, nor return evil for evil, be at peace with all men, (blessed are the peace makers) redeeming the time wisely because the days are evil............be blessed

I was left in a worse position when I went to Christian counsellor than I was before I started.

God bless you my friend
God bless you as well.

Many years ago, I heared about regression counselling. I knew a couple in our
church at the time, before and after the counselling.

It did them great harm. PTSD reliving an experience with the idea that Jesus is
there so it will be different does not work. This freaked me out, about going too
close to fragile people.

I have been encouraged with CBT and its implications, and some parallels with
the sermon on the mount, putting behaviour into practise from obedience rather
than analysing causes.

It makes me wonder about the healing effect of doing things, as opposed to just
relying on change enabling action. I am more convinced now about simplicity and
purification, changing who we are through sowing to the Spirit.

Also emotional awareness and learning to feel and not be scared for many is such
a new experience, because they have lived so emotionally repressed most of their
lives. But these things are only possible in a group where people know how they
will feel and what to respond with, rather than exploit or manipulate. This again is
not so common in fellowships as demonstrated here on cc.

I need to make a point then I will stop.

I asked why did the Jews at the council in Jerusalem say that the gentiles should just abstain from blood, feed the poor, and not eat meat sacrificed to idols?

Because the moral law is written on our heart. We everything we need within to live a godly life through Holy Spirit. It's not all at once, but as He reveals the Son to us...we partake then of His nature.

It's not just words that Jesus spoke when He said..eat of me, drink my blood.

This is spiritual actions that occur within us as we see Him. It's all about Him...as He is revealed.

Yes I have heard of regression counselling and it is very dangerous indeed.

I don't knock CBT at all. In fact at work I have paid for people to have CBT.
They know my faith but not willing to accept Jesus.

So I say ok, lets go down this route.

I do believe though that Jesus wants to get to to root, the heart issue.

Sounds awesome!

The Lord will keep you in perfect peace and he will rescue your mind to come into alignment and agreement with your spirit and there will be no anxiety that is too great, for the power of the Spirit is working on your behalf, and is restoring that, which the enemy, has tried to steal, kill and destroy in your mind, spirit and body . You will drink the water and eat the cake as Elijah did during his rest and when you are revived you will run for 40 days and not be weary....and climb the mountain to hear the still, small voice telling you...you are mine!
Thanks Meggido, that`s healing scripture for me also...How wonderful is God that He uses people to heal others, there you are posting Scripture for BillG and it was something that i needed right now...God is BEA~UTI~FUL...xox...:)

We are not doing works of the flesh, but works of the Spirit, preach the Gospel, help the poor and needy, and abstain from sin,and anything that represents goodness, and if we do not do these works then faith is void in our life.

But then they will say but if we have Christ in us then we will do the works. Then why do we see the hypocrisy in society concernng these people that they seek after money, and material things, and engage in sin,and say, they cannot abstain from sin,but do it on purpose, not trying to abstain from sin,and say sin does not affect their relationship with God.

That is what needs to be explained, for if you observe them, and their lifestyle, there is a lot that love the world, and the things of the world, that is not of the Father.

But they will say but we will sin,but it can be forgiven, but they hold unto sin,and do not give it up,but it is a daily habit of holding unto sin,and doing it,and think they are right with God,which if they hold unto sin the blood of Jesus cannot wash it away.

And if they have Christ in them, and they will do the works, then why do they not do the works, for the kingdom of God is within you by the Spirit, and this is 24 hours a day,7 days a week, lifestyle, not once in a while labor for the kingdom, but the majority of the time live for the world enjoying the ways of it.

How can it be explained the hypocrisy where they hold unto sin, doing it on purpose, and be right with God.

I have observed them, and they make it a daily habit to enjoy the world, and the things of the world, which is not of the Father.

How can that be explained.

Faith alone, not saved by works, when we confess Christ, for that is all we can do for we are in the flesh.

A person is justified by works, and not faith alone, after they receive the Spirit, and work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for you have the responsibility to keep making the choice to abstain from sin,and be Christlike, not love not the world,or the things in the world.

2Ti 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Heb 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
Heb 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

1Pe 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
1Pe 2:12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

Jas 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
Jas 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
Jas 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Jas 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Jas 1:16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.

1Co 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
1Co 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

Jas 5:19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
Jas 5:20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

1Jn 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Gal 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Explain the hypocrisy, and we might sin after we receive the Spirit, but that is because we want to sin,not because we cannot abstain from sin,and if they believe they cannot abstain from sin,and sin does not affect their relationship with God,they have some explaining to do.

For they will be hypocritical, for that is the purpose of them saying sin does not affect their relationship with God,so they can enjoy sin, enjoying the world, and the things in the world, and believe they are right with God,but God says they are not right with Him,for they sin on purpose, and hold unto sin,and like sin.

There are many beliefs in this world, and many interpretations of the Bible to go along with those belief.

To the occultist the Bible is about the occult, spiritual evolution through nature, and Jesus is not Lord and Savior, but a good teacher in spiritual enlightenment, and an ascended master, and avatar.

To the prejudice, the white people will say Cain is the seed of the devil, and the mark on Cain is black skin, and the throne of David moved to England, and the royal family descendants of David, and the 10 lost tribes are European.

To the african american people they are the true Jews, from the tribe of Judah, and so forth.

To the Buddhist,a buddhist interpretation,to the Hinduist,a hinduist interpretation.

And so on,and the people that believe they cannot abstain from sin,and sin does not affect their relationship with God,are no exception, but believe according to what they want, like the other groups of people that believe the Bible how they want to hear it.

Often the case is with someone whom suffers with Generalised Anxiety Disorder have no idea what the drivers are.
So in the secular sense it's either medication or secular counselling like CBT.

I know of Christian's who suffer with GAD/Depression who take medication and to be honest I don't have an issue with it.

Also we need to be very careful as believers how we counsel others with GAD.

I was left in a worse position when I went to Christian counsellor than I was before I started.

One thing is true though and that is Jesus.
He is constant, he is faithful, he is loving and he is the one who can bring healing.

Psalms 147:3
He heals the brokenhearted
And binds up their wounds.

My grand point in preaching is to break the hard heart, and to heal the broken one.”~ John Newton

God bless you my friend
Well said.

I have said many times that all so-called Christian counselling that isn't based on the finished work of Christ and that we are now the righteousness of God in Christ - this counselling will be a waste of time and most likely make us more a mess than what we started with.

We have replaced in the church today the realities of the work of Christ for our own humanistic belief system and we are just living by the world's way of thinking even though we use the terms - God, Word of God, Spirit, etc.
