It seems like I am always learning new things, so maybe next week this will sound like nonsense, but I want to try this out on you:

There are three things to do:

1.) Obey the Lord
2.) Trust the Lord
3.) Enjoy life

Pro 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Pro

3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

these 3 things lead to being led.

Well, yes, we are supposed to obey and trust the Lord, points number one and two. Point number three is optional, I suppose.

How about....just walk by faith and let the rest work itself out.....The JUST shall live by faith!

I think obedience is very important. Temptation can be very powerful and we need to learn to overcome it. And the "enjoy life" part is important, too.

“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Obey, in going and discipling, teaching the converted non-believer to trust, obey, and be joyful. Trust, that the Spirit will bring those that the Father has drawn to His Son to be born again by the Spirit that hear the Gospel of truth. Joy, when we see that repentant person growing in the Spirit, and the Lord allows us to be involved in seeing someone grow in
their love for the Lord.

Do you trust God?

Have you prayed "lead me not into temptation"? "Deliver me from evil"?

He IS faithful. Trust Him completely, and your prayer will be answered.

Trust him completely is a goal we must all set for ourselves.

Obey the Lord- always.
Trust the Lord- indeed.
Enjoy life- Sometimes you can't enjoy where life is taking you. I'm sure Jesus didn't enjoy going to the cross, or Paul enjoyed prison. But to enjoy the fact that you're alive as long as you are, or that you are spiritually alive- yes. But to say you must enjoy life sounds to me like permission to splurge and overindulge- which is not the case for a Christian.

Yes, because it is given from God. But I suppose first should come your first 2 points :-) To many people enjoy their lives without to obey and trust the Lord.
Good post from you! I believe this are the most important points for an Christian!

No, before you can enjoy life you must obey the Lord - point one. Therefore overindulgence isn't allowed. No one says you HAVE to enjoy life, but don't you think the Lord wants us to be happy?

The problem with enjoying life without obeying and trusting the Lord is that such enjoyment is short-lived, followed by a lot of distress.

Plenty of atheists enjoy life though

I like the 3 in my signature. :)

He has told you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justice, to love kindness,
And to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8

Yes, I do.
I think many of them enjoy life more than the average Christian.

I agree, but it seems like when death's door comes knocking, they tend to not
enjoy life so much, but won't bend the knee. So much a tragedy for them. :(

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8

Act justly.
Love mercy.
Walk humbly.

Oh my gosh - Desertsrose . . . I posted this then read the last of the post - Same as yours!
