Gotta reply to this one.

Mind telling me how God's elect can be destroyed at all by your doctrinal standards?

You know, once you accept Christ, it's over & done with. Just how exactly can "we" destroy what all of you claim can't be?

I'm on pins & needles waiting for this answer.;)
Satan, hell, liars, destroyers

That's all some here like to talk about.
I wonder what they'd be like if they DIDN'T know God...

We don't have to do works for gaining or keeping salvation..

We DO have to do works to be able to show God's love to others through us..

It ain't rocket science, people. Even a 5 year old can comprehend it..
It is if you have been taught your whole life that to believe means that you must OBEY or its not really faith....IT IS when Faith is changed from trusting in Jesus for your salvation to requiring obedience or else theology....except the " or else" is not quite defined.,, and obedience to which laws not clearly stated.

Saving faith is placing your whole life and trust in God's ability to save you because of Jesus finished work upon the cross for the remission of sins,His resurrection and ascension into heaven.

Have you give God control of your whole life?

Until people have a saving faith in the Gospel of Christ...it's kind of pointless to talk about how we add to that faith.

Hey Stephen, mind telling me why you are asking me a question about something I did not say? Your attitude is off, as usual. I hope you got pricked good while waiting :)

BTW, many times those on the "other" side have stated "we don't judge & condemn others like they do", but here it is.

Here in this post "we" are hell bent to God's people's destruction, & working for Satan.

Now, what ever happened to "can't we all just get along?" Must have been a lapse in judgment, I guess.

Myself & some of the others like to use a lot of scripture to show how "Hell bent" we are.

God's word is always my first choice for weaponry. Nothing like the Sword of the Spirit to do a little destruction, is there?

I'm speaking sarcastically, of course.

I do that from time to time when "the other side" cries about being attacked while verbally scorching the righteous with malice & venomous ranting with no evidence or scripture.
Unfortunately, I noticed these pages and pages ago.

I see no Scripture in this little hypocritical rant of yours...

If you steal you aren't loving your neighbor nor trusting that God can provide for you.

If you commit adultery you sin against your spouse, the other person, yourself and God. If you truly love your spouse as you should, you should not allow your mind to go down that path.

You should honor even your enemies because God calls you not only to love those who love you but love also those who hate you.

Agape love is add to brotherly kindness which is built upon godliness after much perservance while learning self control as taught wisdom by the Holy spirit...which is all done when we are given virtue after having a saving faith in the Gospel.
Ariel,

Stephen63 is saying that we DON'T KNOW what sins Jesus' Two Great Commandments cover UNLESS we learned all the other commandments FIRST.

He's right of course.

First I would teach the kids the 10 Commandments. Go through each one.

THEN they learn the Two Great Commandments.
I used to like to see the look of undersanding on some of their faces (not all unfortunately) when they understood that those two cover all the rest.

But they DID have to know all the rest first...

God didn't waste His time giving us the commandments. He knew they'd come in handy...

1 John 3
3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

3:5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

3:11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.

3:12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.

They confess it to God.
§What else is there to do??
Yes....then God forgives us and teaches us how to overcome sin and why He gave us the moral laws in the first place.

He doesn't do what many claim He does....condemn His Kids and abandon them to keep sinning.

so just answer this question are you saying its wrong to fear the lord and that you should never fear the lord ? jts answer yes or no please... just for the record..as evidently you also think along with others that we should not hope for salvation either..

Read the post a little more carefully and you will see that the fear of the Lord in the New Covenant was talked about and it is NOT like it was in the Old Testament for the one who is in Christ.

The answer is "Yes" but not in the Old Testament way - we are children of our loving Father now in the New Covenant.

I don't have a clue where you get this " as evidently you also think along with others that we should not hope for salvation either.. "...so it's moot to me...

Unlike some on this thread, I have no problem teaching the law and it's correct use in Christians lives.

I do have issues of people say that those who don't have perfect obedience, then they aren't true Christians because it condemns babes whom God is still teaching to trust Him and how much He loves them.

I have stated that the law has 3 purposes. 1. Lead us to Jesus 2. Keep us from spiritually harm by warning us of Satan's traps 3, empower us by giving us rest and reassurance that we are walking in the light and not the dark.

IF WE say that WE have no sin WE are deceived and the truth is not in US.....the SPIRIT is born of incorruptible SEED and does not SIN....

CAIN was lost and NEVER had FAITH......

funny thing...YOU cite the very GUY whose dogma you espouse and PUSH "CAINOLOGY" and a WORKING for SELF serving, self JUSTIFIED pseudo salvation with a lemon twist of marginalized and compartmentalized sins......

WOW....

The key is to understand what that fulfillment means. Sadly people think that now we have Jesus to help us fulfill the law too!
UnderGrace
You're replying to Limey saying that Jesus fulfilled all three types of LAW of the Old Testament by saying that Jesus fulfilled them all. Limey says Jesus DID NOT abolish ANY of the 3 types of Law.

If this is true, then we should be worshipping on SATURDAY.

And women need to be purified after having a baby.

And we shouldn't be eating pork.

And so many Others.......

I wonder what God thinks about people who consider salvation to be a cookie..

Well, let's see, if you had to work to earn the Cookee as a reward or wage, then you would boast how hard you worked, and tell people that have t work hard if they want one too.

if it was given as a gift because someone loved you not because you earned it, you will cherish it, and cherish the person who gave you what you did not earn.

Quite simple actuallly if you look at it

MMD,

It's great to know the bible.
But knowing a little bit of theology doesn't hurt one's knowledge about God.

Hebrews 11 tells what Faith is.
Theology will teach that faith is alive.
Faith is an action.

I've often used the example of the elevator and will not bore you with it again.

FAITH IS AN ACTION.
The person who has faith, MOVES and acts on that faith.
MMD will tell you faith is alive also, we all have told you this, yet you keep telling us we need to know this like we do not know

Are you suggesting that those laws were ever given to Christians? You would be wrong.

Those that believe in the virtual reality of Penal Substitution, many of them even openly subscribe to the carnal-Christian myth,,,

to put it plainly, those that still commit the vile sins of the flesh, but somehow believe they can still reside within the kingdom, based on an imaginary position.....
Penal substitution
Residing in the Kingdom

Great biblical concepts.
if I weren't so tired, I'd expound on this a bit.

It's past midnight here...

The atonement
The Kingdom...
