One evening at a Maunday Thursday church service in 1985, I asked Jesus into my heart and immediately got filled with the Holy Spirit
I was on fire for Jesus
I couldn't put the Bible down
took it to work with me
I wanted to know and understand what all of it said and it was so hard to take it all in at once
After 5-6 years I had passed everyone I knew in knowledge, including my two pastors, but there was so much misunderstanding
one day I went to a new lively church and went forward to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of tongues
nothing happened
but that night my wife said i was praying in tongues all night long then I started praying in tongues
more changes
i would wake up at 4 AM and spend 1 1/2 hours in serious prayer on the front porch
I would wake up in the middle of the night and start praying
but very importantly for me, I started reading the Bible and those passages that were so confusing to understand started coming my way
I had knowledge, I believe God gave me wisdom and several other gifts as well
I've been on several forums for years, I get tired of debating the same old stuff, but my Gospel is right in the middle of what I just said.

Do you believe those who don't pray in tongues not to be truly saved? (i know some who do so just wondering your beliefs)

and do you have a local church that you are a part of?

If people were giving God control they would obey His commands.

But people use this language as a replacement to obedience through choice as if
choice and faith is not what God is calling us to.

James (supplanter) and John meaning (Grace) its listed in that order because it speaks a sentence. The stone(law) is suplanted by Grace. While we were yet sinners, that means prior doesn't it.

Stephen was killed by the law (stone) moses broke the law even before he made it off the mountain. sin came by the law and the law brings death. The pharisees imputed sin on Jesus because of the Law. In their eyes Jesus was a sinner, but in Gods eyes he wasn't

so what was Jesus doing in Gods eyes that was right. what he did is what all of you should be doing. not quibbling over scripture. Are you ready, okay He Jesus believed the Father. Not once in a while, not just when the sun was shining. he believed all the time. Abraham believed and it was accounted to him as righteousness. Paul spoke of the sin that easily besets us all. Unbelief. In your heart you waver back and forth does He or doesn't He. Will he or won't he. We all fall prey to it where is he. will he, why won't he. Scripture says that a man tossed to and fro in the waves will receive nothing from the Father.

The works question is has no basis in any conversation until you can settle in your heart, IS HE YOU SAVIOR OR NOT

There was no Scripture in his little hypocritical rant. Kind of like how you have said you ALWAYS use Scripture when obviously you do not. Birds of a feather and all that, you and him, I suppose. He did align himself with you, after all.
