You're first paragraph has me lost. I've not went back and forth nor told anyone anything about how anything should go.. maybe you're "you" is a general term here
Okay. For the readers in what you were replying to so they know what you are meaning above;

"I do not think you guys are paying attention to what other tongue speakers are saying. Those who speak differently, know not to vote in this survey, because they know you will get on their cases for saying tongues are a sign when you are saved or that you can receive the Holy Spirit "again" after salvation by a sign of tongues; and yet tongues are not to serve as a sign towards believers for anything."

To be clearer...

I do not think both of you guys are paying attention to what other tongue speakers are saying.

Those who speak differently, know not to vote in this survey, because they know you may get on their cases for saying tongues are a sign when believers are saved or that believers can receive the Holy Spirit "again" after salvation by a sign of tongues; and yet I am saying that tongues are not to serve as a sign towards believers for anything.

Does that make my meaning clearer, sister?

This is what I saw, and it disgusted me so much that I was outside, angrily crying in the parking lot one night, when, all of a sudden I just began speaking in some strange language for nearly twenty minutes.
Thanks for participating in the survey, Willie-T

And thanks go out to toinena & kaylagrl for participating in the survey as well.

I do not agree with all of your answers, but the poll is there for other tongue speakers to see how others had gotten the supernatural tongue.

If you are wondering which answer I would agree with.. it is the last one in the survey since the Holy Spirit is not to be prayed to since He cannot answer prayers to get credit for answered prayers.

John 14:
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me....[SUP]13 [/SUP]And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.[SUP]14 [/SUP]If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

John 16:[SUP]13 [/SUP]Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.[SUP] 14[/SUP]He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.[SUP] 15 [/SUP]All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Anyway, just so you all know where I am coming from in how a believer should seek any spiritual gift from and not just showing by the survey where all the tongue speakers that share by voting as to where they are coming from in how each of you had gotten tongues.

Thanks again.

I'm not sure why you have me in your mix that's what confuses me. Why would anyone have reason to believe I'd get on them when nowhere have I said anything except my own experience?

I haven't even read the other threads on this topic.
My "I've seen your posts" comment to the lady was more of a "I can think for myself" and post to whom I want.

Agreeing with G7, I could have clarified that I agreed with his second statement but I did in my own way because I said a little of my own experience.

Other than those I have nothing on here on the subject of tongues

Actually I was quite young when I received the in filling. I was in my early teens and very open to the Lord. Not long after that I went into the ministry. So Im not quite sure the choice was there in the poll that fit my situation.

this is mocking

why participate?

do you really think that God would have His Spirit raked over the coals by unbelieving mockers?

yes, I am angry at this point because it just goes on and on and on and on
If you learned your "tongues" by producing various sounds, it is not any miraculous gift. And to state this fact is not mocking.

I can't your Bible is copyrighted by the authors which requires I obtain their permission before citing it.
Read up a bit on citing sources. You are allowed to do it. Quoting from the KJV is fine with me. That's what I memorized out of.

Btw, I didn't see 'I asked the Father' as an option.

The poll is what those into research methodology might call a 'bad question.'

Why did you not add an option "never spoke in tongues"? That would have made your pole valid. I also believe that your options should not be multiple choice.

you don't have a clue

there are various sounds in this thread. the sounds of

mocking, disbelief and judging

I'm not making any of them

you don't have the facts. you do seem to have an agenda however

neither you nor others easily named have the slightest interest in actual discussion concerning the topic

at least be honest. this is not concern for believers in any way, shape or form

it's all about you.

don't worry. God does not force His Spirit on anyone. however, people do pay the consequences when they refuse Him and sometimes over the course of their entire life

it's called being dried up and using intellect to try to understand what cannot be understood with the human mind as God is far above our thoughts and knows what He is doing

Well, since it is written to judge not according to appearance but judge righteous judgment your conjecture and intimation attempt is sorta sad, especially since you can't give a reason for the hope in you.

you are writing in fiction

as you so often do...

It is part of their intimidation process...
And when tongue speakers say that if a believer do not speak in tongues, then the believer does not have the Holy Spirit and thus the believer is not saved. how is that not intimidation to the extreme in violating the rule of this forum?

I am saying that all tongue speakers are saved, but I question any experience where they believe they had received the Holy Spirit separate from salvation by a sign of tongues which never comes with interpretation.

I have just cause to speak against it when scripture warned us against it and that tongue that came by way of it.

It is not an intimidation to remind all believers when they had received the Holy Spirit as promised by faith in Jesus Christ at their salvation and for all tongue speakers to go before that throne of grace for help in discerning not only that extra phenomenon, but the tongue that it brought because we are not to believe every spirit, but test them by the Good Shepherd Himself at that throne of grace.

Because you are on me indirectly for saying otherwise to another poster for why I am against tongues, and yet not all tongue speakers in this forum are really in agreement with all tongue speakers for which I am speaking against that which runs contrary to our faith and they know it not.

Thanks for clarifying your posts to other posters. It did come across as siding in agreement against me for what I have been trying to defend in according to our faith in Jesus Christ.

Feel free to vote in the survey if you find one that represent exactly how you got your tongue. It is okay, if you do not want to share any further.

Anything I said the the other poster was a general statement.. I lack clarity sometimes because I find it daunting to be specific all the time so I generalise most things... I apologise if you took it mean I meant you..

Scripture does not warn against speaking in tongues. In fact, the exact opposite is true.

Tongues is not an "extra phenomenon", it is a manifestation of the gift of Holy Spirit that people receive ONCE when they become saved.

I do not know if you can change your vote or not, but if you can uncheck it, you may do so.

I hope that you are not continually "open" to the Lord when He has been in you since your salvation. It is that mentality where believers are "open" to receiving the Holy Spirit separate from salvation is why I am concern for you by your statement.

Plus.. 1 Corinthians 14:22 states that tongues are never to serve as a sign to believers for anything; not for proof that they had received the Holy Spirit nor as proof that God is calling them into the ministry.

Joyce Meyers had that testimony of believing what she thought was the Holy Spirit coming over her bringing tongues without interpretation whereas she took that to mean it was a sign from God as calling her into the ministry.

I believe God can use women ( & He has ) in outreach ministry and it will only be there when I believe He would manifest tongues in women to speak unto the people in their native tongue, but never in the assembly nor as a sign that He is calling them to ministry.

But thank you for sharing. I can only hope that you understand my concern for you to see no need to be open to the Lord ( I do not know for sure that you mean it in that way in receiving the Spirit again apart from salvation, but the words does come across that way ) because you are complete in Christ when you were saved.

Colossians 2:[SUP]6 [/SUP]As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
[SUP] 7 [/SUP]Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.[SUP] 8 [/SUP]Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.[SUP] 9 [/SUP]For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.[SUP] 10 [/SUP]And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

you might as well just survey God

I've read your posts. you are extremely anti tongues and you have a nerve to make a thread like this

who do you think you are?

and that's my honest answer

hey guys? if you do speak in tongues, please don't entertain him. he has really crossed the line.

not that anyone will listen, but this thread needs to die

you are not going to convince him of anything. he has taken this up with CS1 and has been rude to him also, so don't waste your time
I'm a monoglot, but I'm checking this thread out to see if anyone has asked the obvious questions:
If people are curious how tongue-talkers started tongue-talking, wouldn't they just ask? If they haven't asked, how curious are they? And the most obvious question, why so much hype over the least of the gifts? I have never seen anyone argue over the gift of mercy. Why is tongues such a biggie, when there are such very-important gifts to understand?

It just seems like a waste of time, space, and energy all in the pursuit of something that ain't God. (Arguing over it. Not saying tongues aren't from God.)

Are you saying that they are separate events?

What about Titus 3:5? What about John 20:22? Can one be saved apart from the regeneration of the Holy Spirit? I am needless to say somewhat confused by your statement. Please clarify.

For the cause of Christ
Roger
Thanks for listening to what other tongue speakers are saying.

The purpose of the survey is to know why I am speaking against tongues which comes with no interpretation when it comes by way of apostasy.

Some may say that I am throwing the baby out with the bathwater, but God's gift of tongues can only be for speaking unto the people ( 1 Corinthians 14:21 ) since John 16:13 limits the Spirit from using God's gift of tongues for His own prayer language.

Thanks again for listening.

Hopefully, presidente will clarify his post soon enough.
