Praying mantis. We had one in our garden two years ago. It stayed a couple weeks, unfortunately I haven't seen another since.

I read about their wings where there was a black and white photo in the encyclopaedia we have that is about 80-100 years old. They very rarely ever open their wings. Then one day I saw one with its wings open! Wow!
