Are you referring the discussion of conviction of sins by 5
The Holy spirit or that we are not sinners but saints?

We settled that a couple pages ago (no G777 though) and are now having cake.

The Greek word for "rebuke" is different then to "convict".

Here is Jesus using the greek word "to rebuke".

The word means to "speak strongly to". Yes - the Lord does speak strongly to us for sure at times.

Here Jesus spoke strongly to the disciples because of their "unbelief".

Mark 16:14 (NASB)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] Afterward He appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at the table; and He reproached them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen.

But - there is still no scripture that says the Holy Spirit "convicts" the believer of sin - especially as the term is used by a lot of us Christians.

The scriptures don't exist that say the Holy Spirit convicts the "believer in Christ" of sin - it is a man-made tradition. The greek word for "convict" as it is used in the KJV means "to convince". We don't need "convincing " to know what sin is.

It is the law that brings the knowledge of sin. The Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of grace - not the Spirit of conviction. The Holy Spirit speaks to us the things of Christ and reveals Christ to us. He speaks of the ministry of righteousness which we have in Christ.

It's our own conscience that speaks to us that we sin and that comes from man eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Romans 2 talks about this. Our conscience will both either accuse us or else defend us.

The law is written on all of our hearts the law that came from the eating of the wrong tree.

But Hebrews said that those that have been cleansed will have no more consciousness of sins. Peter talks about those that are not growing in the things of Christ because they have "forgotten that they were once cleansed of their sins".

Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. The Holy Spirit "convinces the believer" of the things of Christ and all that He has done.

Here is the point.

A large number believe they will dwell in sin till they die.
Some believe it is just being human. They refuse to specify which sin and how this
works out. They freely admit they are evil doers bound to sin.

But we are called to discipleship, to learn how to walk in the Spirit not the flesh.
How can one say you know Jesus yet walk in the flesh?

If Jesus cannot make you clean through the cross, your hope is in vain.
Either you love righteousness and hate sin or you do not.

My friends sin is death, not some accidental issue, but chosen harm intended one to another.
Love is life, the giving of something freely, one person to another. Paul says in serving one
another in love we fulfill the law. So rather than condemning yourself on some feeling or thought,
realise how loved you are and how beautiful your walk of grace is. So tell me and think of
the acts of grace and love you will do today. God bless you.

On knowing God

To walk in the light is to know our failings.
We are Gods Holy people, a nation called to the throne walking in love.

God has purchased you and you are precious. You have felt His overwhelming
love so learn how to share it to others. The world is lost because they have shut
love out and live in guilt and sin. If this light of love dwells in you, you are saved
and walking in His light.

Too many know the words yet testify they walk in darkness.
Their own testimony stands against them. Repent and find cleansing through
the cross and leave the ways of sin and death.

It is a choice of faith. Do you believe Christ can cleanse you?

Junk of the term workers of salvation

A fool says in His heart he is safe when he is lost, he is rich when he is poor,
he has arrived when the journey has just begun.

Are you the image of Christ? Do you walk in the light or still stumble about not
sure who or what is in control of your life? You have barely begun the way.

And if you stay where you are your faith will fade away.
Is your testimony of love or selfish acts of sin? If darkness is within you how can
you say you know the light. Repent and seek His face and he will make you perfect
by following Him.
