In regard to God sending a strong delusion to beleive the lie I would ask does he perform that in Christians .If so what would be the difference between one who has faith and one who has not? The disciples believed the lie many times.Did he send them a strong delusion to keep believing the lie or did he act differently with His chosen ones?
What is the strong delusion that would cause people to believe a lie?

This is a letter to the church in Thessalonica. It's like addressing one of our churches today. Some are saved, some aren't. The fruit if salvation is repentance and love.

so who are the elect, simply put they are believers. some one wrote that even the saints would be deceived. If you can be deceived than I say you were not truly a believer. there are multitudes of professors of the word, very few posessors of the word. Most quasi believers, will turn to the world in times of trouble, the elect turn to Jesus first. and never look back. Him being my Shepard, I follow no matter where he leads, he "I will lead you beside still water"

Um....God just gave the world two thousand years to have their way....Why does the world need another seven?

I sincerely believe that, not only are we experiencing that great delusion (falling away) throughout the Church of the west, many Churches have already embraced apostasy. Entire denominations are bowing down the LBGT agenda without coercion or persecution because such Churches believe it is possible to saved from sin while still enslaved by it. Easy believism is a cancer that has crippled both the American & European Church, rendering it powerless to stop the onslaught of the enemy in the form of the LGBT agenda as well as the spread of Islam.

Sure.....the ability to call down fire from heaven and perform all signs and lying wonders....I have not dug that deep yet, but my brother who has a doctorate in Greek states that the "if it were possible" literally states it will be possible........have you study the words yet?...he said something about the verb tense of it....
Actually I don't do deep word studies. Or rarely. I ask the Holy Spirit and He teaches me, as He promised He would when I was first born again. So I looked at the verse and He said (paraphrased) The weak ones, those who don't get into the Word, those who study my Word intellectually can and will be deceived unless they listen to ME." I can see that. People are smart, no doubt, but the fallen are much smarter. They have been setting up this deception too for many generations. And they are smart enough to even tell us what they are doing to fool us. The effect of that is this. They grow immune to the emotional impact of their plan so we see it as 'no big deal' Then when the real thing is implemented against us. They'll get sucked in.

Mankind has decided that the way to God is any way that is easiest for them. They have decided what God means when He says something. They deny that Gods way is THE way. How is this pride different from what Lucifer did in heaven, in trying to be more than God? No difference....Its his lie that man is believing.
