There is always an issue with free loaders who claim it is all so easy.
If it is all Jesus, why do few find it, why is the way narrow, why are we yoked,
why do we die with Christ, lose our life here, to be like Jesus.

Paul is our example to follow as he followed Christ. I see no calls from the other
side to do anything but rest in idleness. Look to Jesus, but not to purity, love or
righteousness, which is odd as Christ is all of this and it is our calling.

Jesus said wisdom is living like the sermon on the mount, but easy folk say
that was false sarcasm to drive us to rest and idleness. Ever hear the enemy
say doing nothing is the best option? No. Oops, maybe you are not listening
to Gods word, work in season and out of season, amen, glory to Christ and
the cross.
You confuse simple with easy.

Paul told the church at Ephesus to Armor UP and take the sword out and make a stand for the truth.....today if you stand for the truth you are labeled by those who name Christ but make no real stand for the truth....
Where did Paul say to stand up for the truth anywhere in Eph 6.10-20? This is an admonishment to let Jesus[who is the full Armour of God, because Jesus is found in every piece of the Armour] wrestle with the spiritual forces of darkness, not us...

Love ya bro, let us not apply scripture wrong in our approach to contend for the faith...

AMEN....there is about 50 different topics covered in this thread and a multitude of posted scripture....there have been many good discussions and a few arguments I agree, but over all many wonderful truths posted here....why would ANY child of God be against posting scripture, dialogue and a little argument or two over belief......
Should be nothing against it because it's the very foundation of the Work of Jesus, without which no one can be saved.

You do understand that the bolded is why most dismiss you as a deceiver while disregarding what you say? Because this is false and proves you really do not read and or comprehend what has been said...or you are just deceptively spreading falsehoods.....

Is this a true statement?

If we follow the law and keep the Sabbath and feasts...are we not yet tied to this earths realm? And not in the heavenlies with Christ Jesus?

I guess it's a question rather than a statement. :)

Relax Dave....

I can see how some and maybe you could suggest the stand is about standing for truth, because the rulers, the powers, the world forces of this darkness, the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places, perpetuate false teachings...but honestly my beloved bro that is a real stretch...

I do not believe that you can apply Eph 6.10-20 to the debate you have created...that dog wont hunt...that is my opinion, base don interpretation of the passage and not shooting you down.

THATS ok....The bible is replete with our stance as a good soldier, fighting the fight, being armored, using the sword of the spirit and contending for the faith.....we are at war with the powers of darkness and our FIGHT is not against flesh and blood....so.....I think my view is very applicable mate HAHAH......and I am relaxed and as cool as a cucumber HHAHAH

I don't understand your disagreement here Meggido. This is those who are teaching what Hebrews warns not to do.

And that's falling from grace. O foolish Galatians...bewitched. Is that not lies from the enemy that need cast down?

I would say though not to spend all our time here arguing though. Unless we can't do anything else, then it may be a call for a time.

God's Word is plain see and for all to know. Jesus is the light that shines in darkness. But men loved darkness rather then light because their deeds were evil (sin). There is no stumbling blocks to the Word of God and the plan of salvation; just the interpretation of God's Word that allows a person to live a life of sin.
So - why don't you stone others that don't keep the Sabbath like the word of God says to do in the law? Why don't you believe the word of God? I'm only giving you the word of God. Don't you love Jesus? He kept all the commandments of the Father.

Do you love darkness? Why do you not be a "doer of the word of God?" - and stone those people like you were commanded to?

( What I am doing here is just an example of spiritual manipulation that some try to use on others - Have you ever seen this done before? )

Sorry - I have been away all day and tomorrow I am traveling to a pickleball championship and a Lobster festival.

The Greek word for "rebuke" is different then to "convict".

Here is Jesus using the greek word "to rebuke".

Matthew 8:26 (NASB)
[SUP]26 [/SUP] He *said to them, "Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?" Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm.

Matthew 17:18 (KJV)
[SUP]18 [/SUP] And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.

Matthew 16:20 (KJV)
[SUP]20 [/SUP] Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.

Mark 1:25 (NASB)
[SUP]25 [/SUP] And Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be quiet, and come out of him!"

Luke 4:39 (NASB)
[SUP]39 [/SUP] And standing over her, He rebuked the fever, and it left her; and she immediately got up and waited on them.

The word means to "speak strongly to". Yes - the Lord does speak strongly to us for sure at times.

Here Jesus spoke strongly to the disciples because of their "unbelief".

Mark 16:14 (NASB)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] Afterward He appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at the table; and He reproached them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen.

But - there is still no scripture that says the Holy Spirit "convicts" the believer of sin - especially as the term is used by a lot of us Christians.

The scriptures don't exist that say the Holy Spirit convicts the "believer in Christ" of sin - it is a man-made tradition. The greek word for "convict" as it is used in the KJV means "to convince". We don't need "convincing " to know what sin is.

It is the law that brings the knowledge of sin. The Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of grace - not the Spirit of conviction. The Holy Spirit speaks to us the things of Christ and reveals Christ to us. He speaks of the ministry of righteousness which we have in Christ.

It's our own conscience that speaks to us that we sin and that comes from man eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Romans 2 talks about this. Our conscience will both either accuse us or else defend us.

The law is written on all of our hearts the law that came from the eating of the wrong tree.

But Hebrews said that those that have been cleansed will have no more consciousness of sins. Peter talks about those that are not growing in the things of Christ because they have "forgotten that they were once cleansed of their sins".

Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. The Holy Spirit "convinces the believer" of the things of Christ and all that He has done.
Thank you, this morning s what we thought you would say, sorry it took me a few days to reply, went camping with family this week d,

That is not a description of those who are born of God (1 John 3:7-10).

it is obvious new birth and position of being in the royal family of God means nothing to them,

they are too busy trying to earn earn their way then to repent of their dead works,

1 John 5

5
Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
All that s bolder goes together,

what is is the opposite,

john Said, in chapter 2 I believe, whoever sins has never seen god or known him, whoever is born of god can not sin....

he finishes he's by assuring those who believe they have eternal life, and tells them this is the means to cntinw to believe

One day this truth will hit you and set you free...blessings bro.
It hit me about ten years ago when I had a few brothers sit with me for months, even though I kicked and screamed, and showed me how to let god heal me of my legalistic background, thanks for the blessings bro!

We have different interpretations on Romans 7 and 8.
You are right, Paul was not sinless. Paul did overcame his SIN and still sinned....but his new man prevailed over his old man....

You just said it, we sin because we chose to sin....

Yes we chose to, it does not mean we want to, I do alot of things my heart do not want to do, like Paul, I know what a wretched man I am, that's why. Have t stay in fellowship, have t stay in discipleship, have to be open with my sin life, people who do not do this are in trouble
