What do you do as a man that belongs to a church that does not teach men up to be like Paul and Timothy is passing on of the gospel and seems to have no vision of planting and advancing a church plant?
Thoughts please.

Teaching men to be like Paul means they should stay single and concentrate only on a gospel spreading.

Which is quite a specialized way not for everybody, probably not even for a majority.

It's not referring to Paul singleness, I mentioned Paul AND Timothy and we see in Paul letter to Timothy it clearly gives the example of passing the gospel to trust worthy men so they to can advance the gospel but I don't see this in so many churchs .

You mean that teachers in churches are not trustworthy?

Elise17, we're in the great falling away. Standards are falling drastically, & liberal preachers are replacing nearly all the pastors in the churches.

Even youth ministers teach liberal or don't know how to teach. Nothing but coloring & babysitting.

I mean that some not all churchs don't seem to have this pattern of building up the next generation of men to be able to pass the gospel and ALL its teachings to others, alot of churches are far more interested in sunday school programs and youth programs instead of biblical trainning for mean. This will ultimately lead to weak churchs in the future and now even I see many because of this failing. If the church does not do as Paul tells us to do well then we are inflicting harm to God's church.

None of the 'sunday-observing churches do what paul tells them to do , which is....
'Be you followers of me even as I also am of Christ'.1Cor 11v1. That would be the first RIGHT step to take....seeing both HIM and CHRIST observed the 7th day Sabbath. Think that is not important ? See what happens in a body of men 'out of step with each other ? christianity is hopelessly confused/disagreeable and will stay so until they repent and fall 'in line with their Savior ! Assembling on the Sabbath is the 'starting point - it's when HE personally teaches - beginning with His Fathers Commandments !

Churches did not meet on Sabbath, but on Sunday.

It is not observing Sunday. Christians do not need to observe any day, Sunday included.

Not all church leaders are following the Lord. Some have their own agendas.

The question arises, do you go to a church because you love the church (the people in the church), or do you go to the church whose pastor you like the best?

Some people love the church, are committed to it, and put up with bad pastors, or try to straighten out their pastors. Others just stick with a church as long as they like the pastor.

Have you asked your elders about this yet? You said "some churches," but does it really matter what "some churches" do as much as what your church does? We aren't responsible for every church in our countries. We're supposed to be working with "our church."

And, assuming you have, what have your elders said? Because that should be the base for this, instead of churches in the general sense.

Personally, "our church" (as in the denomination we're in) isn't having a weakening or a falling away. It's forever increasing and strengthening. But it's doing that because we're focused on the Lord. We're rather by-the-book people, so we have processes and procedures we follow to make sure the men shepherding the flock are also keen on following the Lord, not themselves. And we, the flock, edify as much as we are edified.

Think about this for a minute. Say you're one of the apostles, at the very beginning of the Christian movement. You know the Sabbath is a day of rest, but it is also the day Jews gathered at Temple to honor the Lord's Day. That was the best place to preach the OT to teach them the NT. So they went to a lot of places to worship to do their work.

Their work! You don't work on the day of rest, right?

And, bingo! That's why the Christian Sabbath Day is different than the Jewish Sabbath Day. It is still a seventh day rest.

Honestly? Hubby and I take our Sabbath Day rest on Saturdays. We are free to rest any day of the week, because neither of us have a job anymore. But we picked Saturday, because we have enough doctor's appointments and grocery shopping to do during the week, that we know we can't consistently rest on any of those days. And Sundays? Well, we keep hoping we can actually go to church again on a Sunday, but health issues haven't allowed for that. Either way, we want to be rested up before doing all the effort to go to church on Sundays.

Do you have a problem with that?

If not, then don't make which day is Sabbath an issue.

If you do, oh well! Your problem, not mine.

Talking about God while in temple isn't work.

Don't waste any time attempting to change that church.
Leave that church and join one which meets your criteria.

Lynn is right. Yet, I would take it a bit farther.

But, I would ask why is it that "men" are sitting back, waiting to be taught by the church..... as though only some elders and a preacher had this responsibility to us. I teach younger men all the time, and it is seldom in any sort of "class setting." I ask questions... I set an example... I get their minds to working.... I make them WANT to question the status quo.

I have probably learned the most from both men and women that I had no idea were "teaching" me, because it seldom happened in an official class setting.

the Bible teaches that we should be like Jesus

Paul actually refuted teaching that chooses to be like a person

we should all refer to Jesus

I know I sound like a broken record, but because of the Falling Away, many in the church are being led by spiritual children, if they're that.
Infiltration of seminaries, state boards, church boards, etc. is leading the uncommitted church into apostasy.

Few, if any, real revivals.

Churches using Wednesday night study times for Youth events that are basically social events & play time.

Churches using Sunday nights for external ministry with big claims of results with no additions to the congregation. This is causing a false belief that God's will is be accomplished while the members are feeding, clothing, & playing games with the poor and giving them NOTHING of spiritual worth. The end result is they go to Hell clothed & full.

This seems to be happening everywhere regardless of the denomination.

Thanks for the advice guys even though some went off a bit on the sabath which is gone just saying like.
I'll take some of this advice and maybe apply it . My view of the church in my country is it is lacking highly in the provision of good pastor who can teach and pastor and lead the church into the next century and it saddens me to see this, Paul tells Timothy to teach the men and tells the men to teach each other and the women also to teach the younger woman, as men if we sit back and refuse to teach others then we are dis obeying God's word . We may not be called to be teachers but as men we are to teach weather it's in our family or church and we are to teach what the word says and only the word. Let us teach and pass the gospel onto others.
