Ive finished chronicles and begin Erza tonight.
Still continueing to read the OT. It has been alot of work for me as I have to reread alot.
There is alot of repetition, but this is good as I hope that I will retain what is important.
I am amazed at how much of the OT is repeated in the Nt, also how it brings the two into one teaching by giving true understanding to much of what we learn in the Nt.
I would recomend to those that have not read the OT to give the effort when ready, it does open your eyes to alot, it more importantly conferms much of what you learn in the Nt.
What has held my interest the most is the understanding of the true weakness of man and the comparison to us today when it comes to sin and false gods.
Now many do not have fake gods in the sence of the OT, but we do have many things that we put in place of God Our Father. From our pride to worldly desires. If anything it has made me consider how we all still look to other things, rather than Our Lord God.
Now Im not tring to judge or condemn here, I just wanted to share how we easly can do this without realising it, but also so that we can ask ourselves what do we let replace God.
This does not mean we cannot enjoy God's gifts, he wants us to enjoy all that he created for us, there are alot of refrences to this in the OT as well. I now see that it is good to do this.
But it is a good work as well to examine ourselves and ask what do we set God aside for?
So thankyou for reading this.
I do have a few quick questions as I would like to better understand what and why these were worshipped so often, so those in the know can you inform me?
The poles that were worshipped , what to and why?
The high places? same what and why?
And baal, what and who is this?
Thankyou so much for your help.
On-word and for-word in the word I continue.
What a true wonder it is to know Our Lord God better!
Thankyou and God bless, pickles
