Hi EG,
You're missing my meaning. Let's use me as an example.
When I was first born again, I didn't know there was a trinity. I was a good 'ol heathen and didn't even know John 3:16. Later on as I grew in the Lord and joined a bible study and heard sermons, I learned about the trinity.
What if I was on a forum like this and said I didn't believe the trinity. In my ignorance I would be wrong. But what if I died before I realized there was a trinity?
I was born again. I was growing in the Lord. I was justified by God's grace through faith in Jesus' sacrifice. I was sanctified and I was glorified............and I'd be with Jesus when I died.
According to you.......are you telling me that the Lord won't let me in because I didn't know there was a trinity?
This is true Desertsrose.
God will judge us by what we know.
Not by what someone on these threads failed to teach us.
God gives to each of us a measure of faith
Romans 12:3
Not an AMOUNT of faith, but a TYPE of faith, so that we may each carry out the gift that God has given us.
Prophecy, service, teaching, giving, etc.
And in this, we are to do all with humility.
Ephesians 2:9
We are not to boast of our works.
We are not to boast that WE somehow are actually saving the SOUL of those here.
We can state our beliefs, but should not be so proudful as to think that what we believe is Always correct and what Others believe is Always wrong. I MAY BE WRONG in a belief, but if sincere, God will judge me on the sincerity.
OTOH, one could be boastful and anything else that person says will be overshadowed by the boastfulness.
I preach Jesus Christ
And Him crucifeld.
1 Corinthians 2:2
And
1 Corinthians 2:4 New International Version (NIV)
4 My message and my preaching were
not with wise and persuasive words, but with a
demonstration of the Spirit’s power,
HOW a person says words may be more important than what he actually is saying.
So, yes. We are judged by what we know.
And what we don't know should be learned
and what is taught should be taught with the Spirit in mind at all times...
