very thought provoking, most haven't come to grips with the fact that coming clean with God in repentance is a NT commandment...........
As much as you quote the O.T. and Pharisee(ical) religionism it seems that you have no real concept of anything in the N.T.....such as ALL sin being nailed to the cross and the condemnation of the law with it.......

When it could be this....

I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.:)
Jn 10:10

He does not understand that concept....he is on the "I don't sin" and can work my way there train....

wouldn't do Hebrews.
Stone had to step in.
My beef was with YOU, never posting scripture.

Now I have to spend time I don't have with Stone, who KNOWS scripture and I have little to argue with her.

I don't know if YOU know scripture because YOU NEVER POST ANY.

You can't just make fluffy comments all the time.
NOT ON THE BDF.

So, look at it this way.
You're not engaging ME, you're helping new Christians reading along.

Do you think I'm here to change YOU?
NO.

I think it's VERY FUNNY that you call me a legalist and a worker.

First of all, I don't think you really know what that is.
Second of all, YOU preach NO works, or at least thatj's what it sounds like.

Is THIS what you believe?
No?
Then just admit it and stop worrying about WHY you do it.

But you won't.
Because you're a hyper-grace believer.
Easy believism. NOT my term.

Even Bill is getting confused because of statements I'm forced to make because you and some Others here are soooooo off to the left.

Come back and live in the Kingdom and BE HAPPY to serve God and be free to work for HIM.

What does it mean to be free anyway?
You shall know the truth and the truth will set you free.

WHAT IS THE TRUTH??
WHAT ARE WE SET FREE FROM?

Are you going to answer with a one sentence of fluff ??

Well actually Dcon started with this.....

Care to retract your statement? Never say Never :)

It does not get any plainer..........Our righteous works have ZERO to do with Salvation!

English Standard Version
he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,

Berean Study Bible
He saved us, not by the righteous deeds we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of new birth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

Berean Literal Bible
He saved us, not by works in righteousness that we did, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

New American Standard Bible
He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

King James Bible
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Narrowing down = focus.

The focus of the verse is not on willful sinning. It is focused on the fact that there is no more sacrifice for sin. Jesus paid it all. By focusing on sin and what you think is your own ability to sacrifice for sin, you look away from the finished work of Jesus.
I have zero misunderstanding of this verse.
The apostle John spoke of both sins of ignorance of which there is an advocate and chastisement, and willful rebellion which leads to death and their is no chastisement........Job had some sins of ignorance that he was chastised for but he did not rebel against God and sin willfully against his conscience, he did not engage in those sins that Paul said would disqualify one from the kingdom....John said not to even pray for those who are in willful rebellion (sin unto death) because prayer wont help them, only repentance can save them....so we can pray for their repentance......be blessed

Amen,

And Jesus made that clear.
He also said, if you struggle and heavy laden, give me it and I will give you mine, it's light.

If memory serves me is he not interceding for us as well?
How can we know for sure?
Can you prove it with Scripture?
Or are you just making this up?
Or does someone have to answer for you?

And you post scripture ALL THE TIME.

Everyone here knows scripture pretty well.

We just don't all agree with your incorrect doctrine.
