No, I'm pretty sure I have some pretty deep spiritual revelation about Adam being a type of Christ and you guys just can't see it.
Wait...I can't tell if you're being serious....

And since when do you have to be on the far right to be considered a Christian?
2The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left. (Ecclesiastes 10:2 NIV)

You're taking that verse way way way to literal. Stop with the propaganda here.

While I agree that the verse has nothing to do with that
... I find it interesting that all left wingers are "pusihng propaganda" but all right wingers are "just normal, sensible people" accoridng to so many in here. You'd almost think CC was a political dictatorship where only one view was allowed

Women have to be silent during the worship service, except for when we sing praise to God together as the whole church. But they are free to speak in the church building before and after worship. I think hair is the head covering. And God says men are to have short hair, and women are to have long hair.

Disclaimer: This poll is for my desire to know where the CC members stack up. It is not just so I can see the majority opinion and change mine to match it. I provide this disclaimer because someone else complained earlier about my use of polls.
Be silent in the church service, except praying and singing I would agree. Wearing headcover when praying I would say it's depent on culture. As a sign for the angels it would be enough for a married woman a wedding Ring. Of course it is also culturalles. For my indian friends it is normal to Cover their head while prayer time.

It's pretty telling of the state of modern Christian women if the idea of humbling yourself in the sight of God by wearing a simple piece of cloth over your head is seen as backwards and oppressive.

At least there are a handful of godly women here.

Thats why I'm independent. Every side is biased and hypocritical. Better to have my all own political views in what I believe in and still keep Gods word.

I agree that this is what it comes down to. I heard earlier about women's "hands being tied" by "men" forcing them to be silent in church. Is this elementary school or something? Who are they trying to "handle" there? What is the objective, the goal? It is like they feel something is being held from them, and they don't care what exactly it is is, but they want it for that reason alone. Just like these girls who want to be on the boys' sports teams.

Is it not possible that Eve was prey in the garden because of that exact same feeling? Re-read Genesis and see!

And it looks like Adam was prey because she TOLD him to do it and he listened. And aren't men (who were in charge of the church, historically) doing the same thing by tolerating these modern "critiques" of the Bible??

I think he is serious. I have heard the same thing somewhere but I can't remember how it goes.
I'm serious about Adam being a type of Christ, not serious about having some special gift or revelation about that fact:

"...Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come." (Romans 5:14 NASB)

Not only does reading our Bibles keep us from being deceived about false doctrines, but it also keeps us from not being able to recognize the truth when we see it.

well
he wasnt decieved in the garden

it is commonly thought he took on sin so eve wouldnt perish alone

he is also called "the son of God"
and he was made "good"
could that also mean perfect?
maybe
even if only for a season

but some major differences

Jesus is eternal / Adam was created
Jesus is our savior / Adam is not
Jesus is God in the flesh / Adam is only man
Jesus never commited sin and was perfect / Adam commited an unrighteous act

Jesus overcame death and is alive / Adam is still dead and awaiting judgement

am i wrong about any of this?

No you are not wrong about those things.

Adam is a type of Christ in that just as the disobedience of the first Adam is unrighteousness for the many, so the obedience of the second 'Adam' is righteousness for the many.

Christ is a kind of Adam in that He suffered the same death for sin that His bride (the church) did, yet Christ's death was for the righteousness of the many, as opposed to Adam whose death was for the unrighteousness of the many.
