Sometimes I think I should just give up.

We used to have a dodo in the back of the barn and the bird didnt half scare the coalman one day who didn't know it was there!

When the bird made a loud noise, the coal man jumped and came out the barn white! His face was black going in due to coal dust.

Wait, the coalman?

Normally I get "wow I am old compared to these kids moments" when online
but now I am thinking "huh? How old is this guy?" :p
 
These days we usually cut wood instead as coal here is now expensive. I also make some paper logs if I can dry them. Why is coal old? It was brand new coal fresh from the ground! :p

I wish I had a wood burning stove here for winter.
 
Ours is an old multifuel range with an oven by the side. We bought it cheap secondhand after the last one gave up. This one is a bit small so does not run radiators but at least it stops things freezing!
