John 5:19 Jesus gave them this answer: “I TELL YOU THE TRUTH, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only WHAT HE SEES his Father doing, because WHATEVER THE FATHER DOES, THE SON ALSO DOES.
+++DOES JESUS SEE HIS FATHER DOING SELFISHNESS OR GREED INSTEAD OF GENEROSITY? .OR BAD WORKS INSTEAD OF GOOD?(impossible)
John 14:12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me WILL DO WHAT I HAVE BEEN DOING. He will do EVEN GREATER things than these, because I am going to the Father.
+++CAN THOSE WHO HAVE FAITH IN JESUS SAVE THEMSELVES AND THEIR HEARERS?
1 Timothy 4:16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, YOU WILL SAVE BOTH YOURSELF AND YOUR HEARERS.
+++DID PAUL JUST SAY THIS ON HIS OWN?
John 12:49-50 For I did not speak of my own accord, but the Father WHO SENT ME commanded me what to say and how to say it. I know that HIS COMMANDS LEADS TO ETERNAL LIFE. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say.”
1 Corinthians 14:37-38 If anybody thinks he is a prophet or spiritually gifted, let him acknowledge that what I am writing to you is the Lord’s command. If he ignores this, he himself will be ignored.
+++PAUL WAS ALSO SENT AND SPOKE OF THIS; 1 Timothy 4:9-10 This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance (and for this we LABOR AND STRIVE), that we have put our HOPE in the living God, who is THE SAVIOR OF ALL MEN(eph 5:23), and especially of those who believe.
+++SO, ARE WORKS OF FAITH,LOVE & OBEDIENCE NECESSARY FOR SALVATION?
John 14:31 but the world must learn that I love the Father and that I DO EXACTLY what my Father has commanded me. “Come now; let us leave.
John 14:21 Whoever has my commands and OBEYS them, he is the one who loves me. HE WHO LOVES ME will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him
John 12:26 WHOEVER SERVES ME must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. MY FATHER WILL HONOR THE ONE WHO SERVES ME.
CAN A DISOBEDIENT, SELF-CENTERED/SELFISH, GREEDY PERSON BE SAVED?
Matthew 19:16-26 The Rich Young Man Now a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?” “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, OBEY THE COMMANDMENTS.” “Which ones?” the man inquired. Jesus replied, “‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’” “All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?” Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then COME, FOLLOW ME.” When the young man heard this, HE WENT AWAY sad, because he had great wealth. Then Jesus said to his disciples, “I TELL YOU THE TRUTH, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than FOR A RICH MAN TO ENTER THE KINGDOM OF GOD.” When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “WHO THEN CAN BE SAVED?” Jesus looked at them and said, “WITH MAN this is IMPOSSIBLE, but WITH GOD all things are POSSIBLE.”
James 5:1-5 Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming upon you. Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. Look! The wages you failed to pay the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter.
1 Timothy 6:3-10 If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, he is conceited and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain. But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have WANDERED FROM THE FAITH and pierced themselves with many griefs.
Mat 16:24,Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, HE MUST DENY HIMSELF and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to SAVE HIS LIFE will lose it, but whoever LOSES his LIFE FOR ME will find it.
1 John 3:16-18 This is how we know what love is: JESUS CHRIST LAID DOWN HIS LIFE FOR US. And WE OUGHT TO lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has MATERIAL POSSESSIONS and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, LET US US NOT LOVE WITH WORDS AND IN TONGUES BUT WITH ACTIONS AND IN TRUTH.
James 2:22 You see that his FAITH AND HIS ACTIONS WERE WORKING TOGETHER, and his faith was made complete by what he did.
Galatians 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith which worketh by love.
Romans 12:9-21 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good... Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality... Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Matthew 25:45-46 “He will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”
LET US BE OBEDIENT AND SERVE GOD WITH FEAR AND IN FAITHFULNESS AND RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Malachi 2:17 You have wearied the Lord with your words. “How have we wearied him?” you ask. By saying, “ALL WHO DO EVIL ARE GOOD in the eyes of the Lord, and he is pleased with them” or “Where is the God of justice?”
Malachi 3:13-18 “You have said harsh things against me,” says the Lord. “Yet you ask, ‘What have we said against you?’ “You have said, ‘It is futile to serve God. What did we gain by carrying out his requirements and going about like mourners before the Lord Almighty? But now we call the arrogant blessed. Certainly the evildoers prosper, and even those who challenge God escape.’” Then those who feared the Lord talked with each other, and the Lord listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the Lord and honored his name. “They will be mine,” says the Lord Almighty, “in the day when I make up my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as in compassion a man spares his son who SERVES him. And you will again SEE THE DISTINCTION BETWEEN THE RIGHTEOUS AND THE WICKED, between those who SERVE GOD and those who DO NOT.
ARE WE WORTHY SERVANTS OF GOD?
Matthew 25:21 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. COME AND SHARE YOUR MASTER’S HAPPINESS’.
Doxology Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?” “Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him?” For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.
