I think Jimbo is referring to Heaevnly Jerusalem when he says "promised land" in reference to Moses entering into God's rest, not the earthly version spoken of in this scripture.

I also believe Moses is in Heaven with Jesus now and not asleep as some say.

Revelation shows us this.

****

Revelation 6

9When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne. 10They cried out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you will judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” 11Then they were each given a white robe and told to rest a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brothersc should be complete, who were to be killed as they themselves had been.
We were not talking heaven and even on the Mount of Transfiguration Jesus had not yet paid the price and delivered captivity captive......!

Everyone sins, whether they want to admit it or not.. You, me, and everyone else here sins from time to time.. Just because we're Christians, does NOT mean satan won't still tempt us into sinning.. It's up to us to resist, though many find it nearly impossible to do so...

Not the issue..."blessed is the man in whom the Lord WILL NOT impute sin" that's the true debate...do people believe the evident words of the New Testament ?

He made it to heaven and that is the only promised land that truly matters.
And let's just disregard the whole O.T. and the lessons inspired....next you will be agreeing that works are needed for salvation!!!!!

You both reject the bigger picture of why he was not allowed to enter at that time....and no where did I say he was not saved.....by the same faith that saved David

have you ever looked on the flip side for what work does to a man who is a couch patato with probably 5 years left to live with his current state of affairs ?
what does that have to do with what I said, Does the law have power over that Guy?

The promised land in the Old Testament is a type or shadow of Christ Himself.

There will be no giants in heaven for us to fight. Here in this earthen vessel we have the flesh, the world and the devil but Christ has overcome them all. We are in Him now in our new creation in Christ.

Now we need to have our minds renewed to the realities of what has happened to us when we received Christ by believing in the gospel message.

Which is why Christians can live all their life and never experience the inheritance that is theirs in Christ - because they refuse to believe the word of God concerning a matter.

Hebrews 4:1-11 (NASB)
[SUP]1 [/SUP]
Therefore, let us fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it.

[SUP]2 [/SUP] For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard.

[SUP]3 [/SUP] For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said, "AS I SWORE IN MY WRATH, THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST,"
although His works were finished from the foundation of the world.

[SUP]4 [/SUP] For He has said somewhere concerning the seventh day: "AND GOD RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY FROM ALL HIS WORKS";

[SUP]5 [/SUP] and again in this passage, "THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST."

[SUP]6 [/SUP] Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly had good news preached to them failed to enter because of disobedience,

[SUP]7 [/SUP] He again fixes a certain day, "Today," saying through David after so long a time just as has been said before, "TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE, DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS."

[SUP]8 [/SUP] For if Joshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that.

[SUP]9 [/SUP] So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God.

[SUP]10 [/SUP] For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His.

[SUP]11[/SUP] Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience. ( Greek word here = " unbelief". )

Sounds like Catholicisim?

It’s the earthly that he did not enter.(no flesh and bones)

They cried out while they could…. they did not cry in there sleep. That would be the cry of the necromancers… the sleep or shadow walkers. When the true disciples left earth they left the possibility with communing with those still here under the Sun .Its Alzheimer’s for them, never to remember the things under the sun ever again.

For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. 1Th 5:9

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 1Thessalonians 4:14

Now this I say, brethren, that “flesh and blood” cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we (both) shall all be changed,In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we (both) shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 1Co 15:51

Amen...religion in all it's forms is a very poor substitute for knowing the Lord Jesus Christ and the Father for who they truly are.

Jesus is perfect theology. Jesus came to reveal the Father to us. Jesus said "No one knows the Father but the Son." Jesus is the exact representation of the nature of the Father and He came to do the will of the Father. Heb. 1:1-2

If we ever want to find out what God is "really" like - look to Jesus while He was in this earth. We see His will in action in the life of Jesus.

How did He deal with those that knew they were in need of a Savior? How did He deal with the self-righteous people who counted on their own good works for salvation?

How did He chastise His disciples?

Every so-called theological question about the nature of God Himself can be answered by the Holy Spirit revealing Jesus who came to show us the Father.
Amen Grace777, If you do not hear or see humility in the life of someone who would wants to teach and lead you in the faith - walk a way. When listening to people preach their theology on this forum I always picture how Jesus would answer His disciples about everyday questions. Again If I don't see humility in a leaders life, I walk away. I like your post - God bless.

I'd rather just admit to being a sinner and bask in the knowledge that I'm forgiven by God, no matter how many times I trip and fall.

Your heart beat is an involuntary bodily function and not a work the action of your will has any influence over except maybe to stop it if you were to commit seppuku.
