There seems to be alot of sad threads in this category, so I thought I'd make one for people who aren't, well, sad and depressed.

Whats the best thing thats happened to you this week? this year? in your life?

The best thing to happen to me this week was going to my friend's memorial service (no, I am not being sarcastic). I got to meet his family and many of his friends, and share funny stories about him from the past. Good stuff.

The best thing to happen to me this year was getting straight A's this semester. I have never gotten straight As in school before. Always A/B, never straight As, so I was pretty excited.
 
The best thing that happened to me today was that early this morning, I kept waking up to a thunderstorm. TONS of really loud thunder. God knows how I love thunder--it's one of my favroite sounds. <3 I felt like I was being sung to.
 
By the way, I really like this thread. Did you guys know that if, every night, you write down three positive things that happened in your day (big or small), you will eventually automatically look at positive things everyday instead of negatives.

That is really cool. I like to look at the positive side of things. I can't stand just seeing negative threads all over the place about how sad life is. We should be happy and praising the Lord because we have God! I'm an optimist. I wish everyone else could be aswell.

Greatest thing that happened to me today: My best friend and his ex-girlfriend got back together after being apart for 2 days. They really love each other (:

Greatest thing to happen this year: I found a girl that I think...scratch that, that I KNOW, is the one I want to spend my entire life with. She's on fire for God, and thats the most important thing, isn't it?

There are other threads that are uplifting...but nice to find them in ALL the different forums instead of "just" the Misc. forum....hahah good call!!

I don't know if I'd call myself an optimist per say but I do like to dwell on the good in my day/week/year more than on the bad stuff and really like this idea!! I've never wrote them down, but I do think about my day and Thank God every night as I lay down for all the positives.....and ask for His guidance too, on the trials.

so....OK....

in my day...... I was able to get my daughter to work on time, and get back home in time for my day to go smoothly.
in my week.......The long weekend was spent with my hubby and girls.....always a blessing!
in my year.......The trials of financial instability have all been faced headon and have made us all closer in that we have faced (and continue to face) it all together as a family (being there for each other is security in itself)

It sure is.

But, just to put it out there, you can't open your eyes in the morning when your dead, so of course you'd be alive if you opened your eyes ;) I kid.

Its really great to see how peoples life are, even in this stressful time for the whole world, with the financial crisis and everything. I know that Gods coming is close, I just can't wait for that day.
 
I went to six flags and went on roller coasters for the first time... and they were BIG and the feeling was the feeling of being alive!!!! :D

I'm happy cause I've only got two exams, one week left and then it's SUMMERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
 
Best thing that happened to me today and this week was my sister giving birth to a healthy and beautiful baby boy. Its a cool thing to be have a nephew and to be an uncle. I held him today and it made me remember how much i love this life and the gifts God gives us. Thanks for a great thread!

Well, I got out of school myself today, and I'm soooo happy! Time for a nice summer before 11th grade.
 
I've finished sewing a dress for myself that looks like a wedding dress but isn't. I love that dress.

OH nice Idea ..umm well coming to know the Lord in Sept. and my life has changed for the better :)

I've been happy for about a year now. I've never ever been this happy.

The Lord allowed my old life to implode and pulled me out of it.

A life centred on God is a happy one.

My favourite verse in the bible is Philippians 4:11, where Paul says, I have learnt in whatever situation I am to be content!!! I feel like I have learnt this too.
