No it's not about how one gains salvation but it explains why God saves us....he has a purpose for our lives and we have a job He entrusts us to do.

I find that reassuring and like the idea that my life has a God designed purpose...all I have to do is walk with Him,grow and He will reveal what He would have me to do in this world and with my life....

I thought everyone would rejoice at that idea....don't you find it comforting that God has a purpose for each of our lives?
Our purpose is to glorify Him :)

pisteuó: to believe, entrust

Are you trying to win souls for Christ here or fit more cassocks?

Your fangs are showing Jorge, i mean franC.
Oh. And while you're at it, look up the word OBEY in Greek.
You might just find a connection.

hasta manana...

When I was saved (a singular event/born again) I did not know Koine Greek, however, I believed in Jesus as my personal Saviour and I was saved just like Jesus said it would happen.:D

How cool is that!!!

You're new here.

Know why Dcon didn't post those verses?

Because they contain the word BELIEVE.

Do you know what BELIEVE MEANS in the Greek?

Those verses are not valid.

Unless there's a new meaning for BELIEVE that is not known...

Our purpose is to glorify Him :)
How we glorify God differs as the spiritual gifts He gives us and as we mature in Him,He entrusted us with good works and a ministry to edify and build up the Body of Christ and to show God's love in a dying world.

We have some who feed the poor, clothe the naked, build houses for those with out homes, visit prisoners, intercessory prayer, hospitality, discipleship training, music leaders, etc.

It's lovely when we all work as a church together to glorify God.

Amen and Amen.

No need to search for some special personal purpose, we are His glory and He loves us, we glorify Him when we receive His truth and walk in His Love and Grace, and from there we glorify and serve Him in all that we do.

Our purpose is to glorify Him :)

I wish everything we did glorified God but bickering and other sins fall short of that.

What is wrong for searching for our personal purpose in God's plans? God calls us each to a different task in life....we should listen and follow His calling.

Sorry I did miss it. :(

By humbling ourselves, learning of Jesus and by faith or believing in His Word and taking up our cross daily and following Him.

Yet, I do not see how this is living by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God?

It seemed to me you were applying this verse initially, in a more literally sense, however now you apply is more as a statement of general discipleship?

So when Jesus spoke these words to the devil this is what He was saying that we must take up our cross?

Do you not see how Jesus was comparing and contrasting the physical realm (bread) to the spiritual realm (the spoken word of God)?

Jesus did this frequently.:)

Hi UG

Did you notice that my answer in red above to you was just paraphrased words from Jesus (Matt 10:38; 11:28-30). The scripture we are to live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God is not for the devil it is for man. Jesus just spoke it to the Devil. but it is meant for those wanting to follow Jesus. "Man does not live by bread alone but by every word.... If you continue in my Word....(Matt 4:4; John 8:31).

We glorify Him when we walk in His grace and love. None of us do this perfectly but when we do, it brings Him glory.

Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men Colossians 3:23

I rather to do all things unto the Lord rather than believe I have a special calling, but maybe some do, that I do not know, I only know for myself, when I focus on me I get lost in me and not Him. ;)

Yes absolutely FranC,

God does not hold anyone accountable for sins of ignorance until they receive a knowledge of the truth. Jesus tells us in His Word that he has many sheep in other folds (churches) but the time is coming and now is that His true followers will worship Him in spirit and in truth and there shall be one Shepard and one fold under Jesus (the Word)

John 10:16
And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Joh 4:23-24
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeks such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Act 17:30

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commands all men every where to repent:

Heb 10:26-27,
For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

This is also the call of God to His true people found in Rev 14 and 18. Hope this answers your question.

God bless
when did you conquer death. with no context, to when you, started the new covenant. take it up with the logos word.

Galatians
is talking about jewish converts to christian teachings.

may be help, if you could explain this truth or knowledge of the truth to us here on cc..

.25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian,

what guardian would that be.

since you, have no context, to what a sin is,or been appointed judge, the only person held and condemned by the law, is someone that thinks, the law, still applies to them.

For if a law had been given that could give life, then righteousness would indeed be by the law.Galatians 3

Tell me why did Jesus die on the cross and was resurrected? Where do we follow Him to...the cross? If I have not a cross to bear then am I not saved?

I cannot understand your theology no matter which way I try.

It is not my theology it is the Word of God. You will never know it if you do not ask Jesus to be your teacher

Isa 55:9
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Joh 14:26,
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

~Mar 1:15 He said, "The time is now! The kingdom of God is near! Repent, and keep believing the gospel!"

Col 1:13
God has rescued us from the power of darkness and has brought us into the kingdom of the Son whom he loves

~
Mat 13:18 "Listen, then, to the parable about the farmer.

Mat 13:19 When anyone hears the word about the kingdom yet doesn't understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is what was sown along the path.

Mat 13:20 As for what was sown on the stony ground, this is the person who hears the word and accepts it joyfully at once,

Mat 13:21 but since he doesn't have any root in himself, he lasts for only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes along because of the word, he immediately falls away.

Mat 13:22 As for what was sown among the thorn bushes, this is the person who hears the word, but the worries of life and the deceitful pleasures of wealth choke the word so that it can't produce a crop.

Mat 13:23 But as for what was sown on good soil, this is the person who hears the word,

understands it, and produces a crop that yields 100, 60, or 30 times what was sown."

I've now answered your questions with scripture. I'm done royalscot.

done, with no context to scripture.
when did these verse of scripture , give a gentile, the law, to repent from.

when did these scripture explain, returning to law, if jewish convert ,born.

Is the law then contrary to the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given that could give life, then righteousness would indeed be by the law.22 But the Scripture imprisoned everything under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
23 Now before faith came, we were held captive under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith would be revealed.24 So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith.25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian,26 for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.Galatians 3

This so true... sad but true. Fran so often resorts to personal insults, it is clear she knows she is wrong by her own words, but when has she ever admitted it?
Never....and hell is not freezing over anytime soon....

Hi FranC,

Maybe or I could say that at the end of these scriptures Jesus says on these two commandments hang all the Law and the prophets? Did you know Jesus was quoting from the Old Testament scriptures referring to God's Law (Deut 6:5; Lev 19:18). The new covenant is love to God, Jesus saving us and writing His Law in our hearts so that we can love him and follow him.:)

God bless
how do you connect the dots, if you disregard change.

the jewish law needed temple of stone. and animals for forgiveness. etc

john the baptist was using water etc

42 And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead.43 To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name."

I believe if someone truly seeks God,then God will save them....when that happens may be different but I have faith that God honors His promises to answer a humble and contrite heart.

He will lead people to a saving faith in Jesus and then they will confess Him as savior and be given the Holy spirit and be born again.

It's amazing to watch God work in the life of a nonbeliever and change them into His beloved children.then you see the fruit of the Spirit grow and watch them learn their place in the Body.
i never said jesus was not god. i said the believer has, to start (firstly) by believing in the son. to be given eternal life

if you do not believe in the son, then you have, no access to god. because the law will condemn you.

13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us---for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree"---14 so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.Galatians 3

simple fact, you need to believe in the son, firstly,

18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.1 etc
