James was right though. Job feared God and did endure till the end. And God in His love for Job, reinstated him and blessed him. But look at the crap that Job spewed. Blaming God, speaking death and destruction, blah blah yadda yadda....Just like us modern people. Job was no different. Why do you deify him? He was upright and uptight. Not perfect as in without blemish.
Well no one should deify Job, neither should anyone deride him (as you have done). Have you ever asked yourself how you would have reacted at the loss of everything in your life including your possessions, your health, your children, your wife, and your friends? Job was utterly crushed and most Christians have never experienced that.

But it is God who tells us His estimate of Job, and that's the bottom line. We should believe God.

Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD. (Ezek 14:14)

Though Noah, Daniel, and Job,
were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness. (Ezek 14:20)

There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name
was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil. (Job 1:1).

Here is a response from the leader of Hillsong concerning gays in leadership roles or in worship roles.

Hillsong Church Statement by Senior Pastor Brian Houston

August 2015

I wish to correct reports that Hillsong church has “an openly gay couple directing a choir” at our New York City campus. Hillsong’s position on homosexuality and gay marriage has not changed and is consistent with Scripture. As I have stated previously, I believe the writings of Paul are clear on this subject.

Several months ago when one of our choir directors made an unexpected public statement regarding his engagement to a man who sometimes sang in the choir, it was a complete surprise to us as well. It is my understanding that they have not been involved in an active leadership or ministry role since. That said, we still love them and acknowledge that they – like all of us – are on a journey, and our role as a church is to assist them on this journey with grace and compassion.

Here is his talk about "Does he love gay people?"

I don't for a second endorse the homosexual lifestyle - it is as destructive as is malice and the slandering of others in the body of Christ. They are in the same lists together as works of the flesh.
Aaannd because Brian Houston said it, it MUST be true..... not.

Kinda like the guy quoting him.

This has got to be the most flagrantly ignorant interpretation I have heard on Job in my walk....but par for the course for WOF condemnation specialists, who heed to doctrines of demons and seducing spirits, and have no root in the Word...but place their perosnal faith in their personal faith....
Well I'd rather be a woofer than a crackers and cheese Christian. Interesting how you people love to judge those who choose the whole Word instead of picking and choosing what they will believe

It's only his understanding......he's not sure?

And his role as pastor is to LOVE THEM by bringing correction and discipline and put them out of the church (if necessary) if they don't get unengaged and repent of their sinful lifestyle.

Ephesians 5:1-12
Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.

But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints; and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. For this you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them; for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light (for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.

Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.

That's ok young'un. Keep digging. Look for a good copy of Strongs Concordance
1 john 2 3-5 "And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him."

1 john 4:18 "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love."

there is no fear when One Keeps Gods Word, perfect Love Keeps and obeys Gods commandments in Christ because Love to God is to Keeo His commandments and Have no grievance in doing so, until were doing that fear of God remains and needs to remain.

1 john 5:2-3 "By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 3For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

that is How Love is perfected, when We are Keeping the Word and commands of Jesus Christ. fear is not cast out when we are disobedient Nor should it be. because the wrath of God is coming on the disobedient as it has always done

Yes...I agree with you 100 % - not to participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness such as gossiping and thus slandering others in the body of Christ when we don't know the facts or supposing something without knowing the facts.

Do we know the facts of this from a first hand knowledge of the people involved? Or are we gossiping what someone else has said?

Do we go to that church and know what discipline that is being done by those in leadership?

Interesting that, while gossiping and attacking Job you were in the first line...? And he is some saint, not just some irrelevant figure of today.

You were posting so much evil about him that I have not even tried to read it.

All true Christians are saints.

You are entitled to your opinion on what the scriptures are saying about Job - the same as others do.

I have tried to look at it in the light of the New Covenant and what has changed with the revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe Job was back then around Abraham's time even before there was no law of Moses.

There is more to it than meets the eye because even Job said the below about himself - how that he uttered things that he did not understand about God.....things he did not know about God or truth.

Job 42:1-6 (NASB)
[SUP]1 [/SUP] Then Job answered the LORD and said,

[SUP]2 [/SUP] "I know that You can do all things, And that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted.

[SUP]3 [/SUP] 'Who is this that hides counsel without knowledge?' "Therefore I have declared that which I did not understand, Things too wonderful for me, which I did not know."

[SUP]4 [/SUP] 'Hear, now, and I will speak; I will ask You, and You instruct me.'

[SUP]5 [/SUP] "I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear; But now my eye sees You;

[SUP]6 [/SUP] Therefore I retract, And I repent in dust and ashes."

If you have a different opinion on Job - you are entitled to it....:)

What makes you put Job in the level of Jesus anyway. He was a man, he had faults, he sinned he was no different from you.

I hope you realize that even though some truths apply to everybody, it does not mean we are all the same and on the same level.

Job was very different from me and from 99% of Christians.

I was the first one to defend Hillsong when someone brought up the NYC church some time back

THEN

I found out what is going on with Brian's son and the son's wife

THEN

I found out numerous other questionable examples of actually setting a Christian example

where there is smoke there is fire

I've had people say things about me that are not true and it really hurts especially coming from other Christians

SO

I am very careful to check the facts before I post

[FONT=&quot]Some have mistakenly defined spiritual discernment as a God-given awareness of evil or good spiritual presences—the ability to tell if a demon is in the room. While some people may possess this capability, it is not the biblical meaning of [/FONT][FONT=&quot]discernment[/FONT][FONT=&quot]. Spiritual discernment ultimately has to do with wisdom and the ability to distinguish truth from error. ( a quote I agree with)

[/FONT]
Far too many Christians rely on the discernment of other believers, like those of us involved in online discernment ministries. It’s okay to learn from each other (iron sharpens iron) but, again, we must do as the Bereans did – test! Regrettably, when it comes to testing for errors, a growing number of professing Christians deserve a failing grade. (also a quote I agree with)

keeping the above in mind, I have personally seen the instagram posts from Brian's dil and they convey a woman who has no conception of what it means to testify of Christ by our actions, words and even how we dress

check out Steve West who knows what he's talking about

this Steve West:

Before reading the article by Steve West, it is important to understand who Steve West is.
Steve studied for his Diploma in Christian Ministry at Hillsong International Leadership College in 2001 and 2002.
During that time he served in most ministry areas – kids, youth, carpark, sound, new Christians, offering collection and ushering. He worked closely with many leaders and gave virtually all his available time and money to the church, volunteering at all conferences in that time and spending an average of six to seven days a week at Hillsong Church. He progressed to an effective pastor position at an affiliated church and ran a local young adults ministry effectively for several years.

yes

his son't responsibility, but you know that NYC is sin city II, so poor them. so difficult

Houston's father was a pedophile. and he refused to bring it to the light when he found out

that does not shed a bad light on Houston regarding children, but it does say quite a bit that he could not expose his dad

does that mean he handles sin in general in that manner? or just his relatives?
