The question I answered with my post was WHY DO NOT ALL MEN GET SAVED?

The inference is that the verse says God's grace has appeared to ALL MEN.

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Tit 2:11

Since it clearly says God's grace has appeared to ALL MEN, why do you believe that some men are not saved?

Or are you a universalist and believe all men are saved?

I have answered clearly that they would rather believe a lie, instead of the true gospel....how you respond clearly shows you have not understood the question I was asked or the response I gave. Perhaps you can retead the conversation and try to answer the question asked instead of lecture me about a topic we were not discussing to begin with.

However as not to be rude I will address your points...yes God teaches us to live godly lives. I was not referri,g to God's teachings as candy covered dung but the teachings of MEN that lead people away from God and His truth: salvation is found in Jesus alone and does not include "claim it and name it" or WOF false teachings,
Sorry about that I did jump to a false conclusion .Hope you can forgive?

I agree with most of this. The only part I don't is that she didn't sin until the moment she ate the fruit.
You and dcon are right - temptation is not sin (I fell into that hissing in my ear for too long!)
Temptation is the gateway to sin. When we would look at another person’s partner in lust we have already opened the door that gives birth to the action.

When Eve heard the voice of a creature that had no form of its own and decided to do the pleasure of its will (the serpent) both Adam and Eve as one creation fell. God did not want them to learn by experiencing the doing the pleasure of the will of another. Their soul as a line of communication between God and man died. God corrupted the whole first creation.

Sorry just asking but are you saying "God corrupted the whole first creation?

This is very interesting, so are you saying that Eve did have lust of the eyes before she ate the fruit, so sin was present before the actual act of disobeying God's command?
1 John 2.16
[SUP]16 [/SUP]For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.

Gen 3.1-7
3 Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Indeed, has God said, ‘You shall not eat from any tree of the garden’?” [SUP]2 [/SUP]The woman said to the serpent, “From the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat; [SUP]3 [/SUP]but from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die.’” [SUP]4 [/SUP]The serpent said to the woman, “You surely will not die! [SUP]5 [/SUP]For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” [SUP]6 [/SUP]When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate.

Satan appealed to Eve's pride, the fruit was the lust of the eyes, because she saw it was good for food and the lust of the flesh was to become as God is....

No offense UG, but you really need to get planted and grounded...living off grace alone is as dangerous as living in works...

When adam and Eve first sinned, They became spiritually dead. As God had warned them, in the MOMENT you eat, you will die. They did, the moment they ate.

At that point, a hole in their heart was formed, the hole was formed because only God can fill this hole. However, since man rebelled against God. They were left to try to fill this hole themselves. or to trust in God to fill it for them.

What we have witnessed since the fall is what happens when we trust God (blessing) and what happens when we trust self (the curse of sin, and mankind doing whatever he can to fill that hole. even if it means causing the suffering of other men and women)

since then society, and the world itself has started to die.

the only thing which could save it was Christ, And even today, we see the result of trusting self, and what it causes.. the continued downward spiral of the earth and society.

No offense Meggido. But any root of any faith that is not grounded in faith will lead to peoples downfall.

Look at you. You can not make one post without dogging someone, Your pride is deep. You can not just stop at what you think it right according to scripture. or just posting Gods word and letting it stand, you have to attack and belittle.

Me personally, I hope you find Gods grace. Because then you will see how Gods word stands on its own, and you do not have to attack others. Just find the peace that surpasses all understanding.

One of the lies the serpent told Eve was in appealing to her "goodness" in wanting to be like God - knowing good and evil.

This "goodness" in being like God is part of our design because we are made in His image.

It appeals to being like God by what she did or didn't do by knowing good and evil. The lie was to Eve 'You can be like God without God."

Satan himself as Lucifer said the same thing "I will be like God". Lucifer had 5 - "I wills" when he tried to be like God without God and he tries to get men to do the same thing today.

This is the same lie being told to the self-righteous and the mindset that says we are saved by what we do or don't do. The righteous live by faith.

Notice it is the tree of the "knowledge" of good and evil verses the tree of life - which is Christ Himself.

We don't live by the "knowledge" of as in the other tree - we live by His life in us and it is all accessed by grace through faith in Christ's work alone.

It is not that difficult when you have one who denies the imputed righteousness of Christ, pushes a sinless perfectionist dogma while denying the whole scope of what the blood of Christ actually accomplishes......just another twist on the dogma embraced and pushed by the Pharisee of old.....a modern lemon twist dogma.....
Do you ever sit back and read yourself....you are more of a contradiction than EG....

You cannot state out of one side of your mouth, you cannot have imputed righteousness and boast of what the blood of Christ does to your sin and then say you are powerless over sin and continue to call yourslef a sinner saved by grace...

A saint is sin-forgiven child of God that will still sin, but has been given resurrection power not to let SIN have them or dominate them...the fact you so easily call people sinless perfection pharisees proves you have no heart knowledge of what you boast about having....

You and your crew cannot differentiate between a mans condition before salvation and who he is in the eyes of God after conversion....

Condition before Jesus: sinner
Condition after Jesus: new man, saint that will still sin, but has power over sin and is now a slave to righteousness.

You and many here boast of having such a great salvation. but condemn and disqualify yourselves from the very salvation you were freely given, because you identify more with wicked and sinner, than rightoeus and saint...

Who do you identify with in the below Psalm?
[h=3]The Righteous and the Wicked Contrasted.[/h]1 How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!
[SUP]2 [/SUP]But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,
Which yields its fruit in its season
And its leaf does not wither;
And in whatever he does, he prospers.

[SUP]4 [/SUP]The wicked are not so,
But they are like chaff which the wind drives away.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the wicked will perish.

We will never be sinless and still commit sin...but to say you are sinner after receiving the free gift of salvation and righteousness, means you have only mentally assented to PART of the WHOLE truth of the Gospel...and have not truly been set free...

The false humility you guys carry is putting Jesus to shame and crucifying him all over again....continually gloating you are a sinner, puts Jesus right back on the cross and one day you will give account....Jesus does not have to die every time you need to state to the world you are still a sinner saved by grace...

It is interesting.....how many deny the PAST TENSE application of savED, jistifiED, sanctifiED and sealED in Christ......as well as verb tense which clearly sets forth a present CONTINUING RESULT from a PAST COMPLETED ACTION.....

We are saved to the UTTERMOST and KEPT by the POWER OF GOD.....their god (the workers for) must be as weak as....!
this is universal salvation doctrine of demons that says all will be saved and none will perish....even if you deny Jesus you still make heaven...just admit to people you are a universal salvation believer...

You and Robb Bell would make great room mates...

Lust in and of itself is not the sin, but when lust conceives it brings brings forth sin....so in a round about way sin is the progeny of lust....the lust of the eyes, flesh and pride of life.....it is what we do with said lust that determine the outcome.....

Imagine Jesus...tempted 40 days BEFORE the account of Matthew 4.....he would have been starving and how good would a nice, hot, steaming loaf of bread been....all chewy, and hot and fresh.....MAN shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.....we would have been burping bread before the cows came home and the Roosters crowed..... ;) Thank God for his faithfulness
yep, more universal salvation foolishness....

I think people forget. and because of this, they think they are "good" so they must be ok. They think evil being the "bad" sins, Like sexual sin or murder.

What was Adams sin?

1. He disobeyed God (you shall not)
2. He ate a forbidden fruit

his sin spiraled downward. into deeper and much more sin.

He blame shifted (He blamed eve, but more importntly he blamed God (the woman you gave me))
He tried to hide from God (he already forgot the omnpresence of God, the things of fGod were already foolish to him)

we have to realize even our small sins are evil in Gods eye, and these sins also cause a spiral downward fall if not taken seriously and repented of. Which is why legalism is so dangerous,

1. It tries to hide the sin
2. It tries to downplay the sin
3. It eventully ignores the sin, and then denies its own sinfulness
4. In pride, it seeks people it thinks sins more, and starts judging them and thier sin.

Someone mentioned grace alone is dangerous, Grace alone is our only hope because grace alone is sthe only way to be free to see sin when it happens and stop it, not deny it or hide it or ignore it.

There we have it folks, to be "planted and grounded" is to remove faith in God's grace and place it in self instead.

I knew you had written on this before, I am so glad you repeated it because my brain is in summer vacation.

There is always that deeper understanding that is so important.

I agree. His post was good but in the very last sentence he talked down to his sister in pride. It reminded me of brother peterjens. Sometimes he posts something edifying and then gets a dig in in the last sentence that undoes all the good work he did in the post.

Do you think it is because we don't feel safe to another that they poke us first because they're afraid we will poke them?
Is it that we can't stop and just start over better with each other and lay down our pride for one another?

I got in a nasty dig the other day at meggido and almost instantly knew by the Spirit that it was not good. (But too late to remove my remark:() I apologize again for that.

If we can't humble before each other I think we are deceived that we have humbled before God as much as we should. Because I think when we humble before each other, we have done it to Him just the same as when He says if we give the drink of water to a brother we have done it to Him.

Sorry, you have no reason to make any discussion on a discussion board personal...
If you want to discuss different perspectives on grace than I think that can be done without making it personal and I would have been willing to engage in that conversation since I am told iron sharpens iron....however this is not the case.

AS well....it is not about not wanting to admit my personal sin as someone has accused me of and failing to confess it, it is about personal attacks and baiting and I will guard my heart so I will be placing you on permanent ignore.
