1 John 2
3By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; 5but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: 6the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.

I do believe scripture say liars have their part in the Lake of Fire.

2 major words here:

WE, indicating christians.

IF, indicating we have a choice.
How are we informed how to keep?.How is the work keep defined by the scriptures? It is where the Judaziers usually become silent.

Can you keep them without stumbling in the least of all the commandments as did Christ? Have you received your new incorruptible body. Remember if you violate one you are already considered dead, according to the eternal never to rise to new spirit life wage of the least of any sin .Have you sinned today?

Keep is not defined as kill if one violates one law. God is a God of mercy with him there is more than enough forgiveness its why we do fear Him. He forgives every sin and continues cleansies us from self righteousness.

Who cleanes you from self righteousness?

"It does not get any plainer..........Our righteous works have "ZERO" to do with Salvation!"

The issue is "not by works" When I was "born again" not by earthly seed; did my works play a part of my spiritual rebirth.

No I simply believed; "They replied, Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household" Acts16:31

After we are saved; do works keep us saved; I say no; we are saved unto good works not by them; "not by works, so that no one can boast. "For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life." Eph2:8-10 We are saved "unto good works," not by them.

My wife and I volunteered through our church to assist missionaries to preach and teach the gospel for the mountain tribes in Thailand; Do we count on that as a merit of works to keep us saved; of course not; it was the love of God shed abroad in our hearts. Apostle Paul said this; "What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ." Phil3:8

"You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace." Gal.5:4

"So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith." Gal3:24

"Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."
Matt.11:29

"For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome,"
1 John 5:3

"And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the very commandment you have heard from the beginning, that you must walk in love." 2 John 1:6

Salvation by Grace, "plus my works", is as foolish as Cain who brought his good works to God; Able's sacrifice was acceptable, Can's was not; "but on Cain and his offering God did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast. Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? Gal.4:5,6

Both Cain and Able had works; one was acceptable to God, one was not. The folks who put forth a "works gospel" are as wrong as Cain. Their sacrifice come's from "Pride" the original sin. It is foolish and dangerous for anyone to rely on your own good works, to keep you saved; plus it will have long term harmful effects.

Works cannot save you; works cannot keep you saved; and works will not gain you entrance to heaven. Of course the salvation plus my works people, (Like Cain), will be angry with God, this has been going on for a long time; In their heart they say like Cain; I am smart enough and good enough to keep myself being saved. The idea of; I am the Captain of my own ship, is foolish and worldly wisdom.

"The Lord hath not cast away his people which he foreknew" (Romans 11:2).

He chose us from eternity, and He will love us throughout eternity. He loved us so as to die for us, and we may therefore be sure that His love will never die. His honor is so wrapped up in the salvation of the believer that He can no more cast him off than He can cast off His own robes of office as King of glory. No, no! The Lord Jesus, as a Head, never casts off His members; as a Husband, He never casts off His bride. Did you think you were cast off? Why did you think so evil of the Lord who has betrothed you to Himself? Cast off such thoughts, and never let them lodge in your soul again..
Why are you always bragging about what you do and giving glory to yourself?
Mathew seven, I believe speaks to this .
It's about blowing your horn.

I'll continue reading to see if you're chastsed from the Dcon club, as I was for just using the word works.
Wanna take bets????

This thread has hit rock bottom, that's for sure, the arrogance, pride and works of the flesh in the name of God are evident,

it is also evident that some people will never learn, and all they wish to do is bellitle, attack, and slander others,

Lots of personal comments. What happened to bible discussion.
Sadly you will not find that in BDF, you will find people who tell what they believe, speak of their love for God, then the real self comes out the moment someone disagrees with them.

I think it is time that ignore the troublemakers, there are enough people here who want to discuss, even things they disagree, let the kids act like kids. But it is time to stop feeding hem.

I am not sure if I am understanding this how you have written it, but actually according to scripture it is the exact opposite

[SUP]1 [/SUP]For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all,[SUP][a][/SUP] [SUP]12 [/SUP]training us to renounce impiety and worldly passions, and in the present age to live lives that are self-controlled, upright, and godly, [SUP]13 [/SUP]while we wait for the blessed hope and the manifestation of the glory of our great God and Savior,[SUP][b][/SUP] Jesus Christ.
Titus 2:11-14
You understand plenty the opposite of scripture!
It's rather frightening to know you teach humans.
I'm sorry for them.

By God's Grace, unmerited favor, are we saved; there is no, Grace plus works; the only boasting of works, is what Jesus did to ransom us from the curse of eternal death.

Genesis4:4,5

"And Abel also brought an offering--fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering; but for Cain and for his offering He had no regard. So Cain became very angry and his countenance fell."

Its all about Pride.
Your pride.
Always talking about your volunteer work.
Oops. I hear a trumpet!

yep patience is helpful to understanding what is said,as for "nit picking" I'll leave that to people who enjoy doing as such,I get what you mean but "correction" isn't "nit picking" "nit picking" is willful trying to upset someone by pointing out every little mistake thereby being a nuisance,I respond to posts when someone either doesn't understand something or they over rule understanding to be,"insulting" which results in noone learning anything, apologies if you interpret such things as "nit picking" when I post in correction.

Thank you joe and I know it can be hard to see what took place prior to a particular post.. some do devour and nit pick and offer little else..

if I'm called a murderer and you say nothing to the person that I proceed to call nasty... then I believe it to be nit picking.. especially when great things seem to be overlooked...

but nevertheless you are by no means someone I would not like to converse with.. and have yet to get to know you.

so hello Joe.

Yes, some people hate the message of this thread, that Jesus is the author and finisher of one's salvation, freely given to those who believe, never to be forsaken or taken back.

The veil has to be torn and removed.....the ultimate veil that has to be torn is our flesh....

grace aloners do not like talking about total surrender though....they have enough time worrying about not doing ANYTHING for God, becuase that might make others think they are working for their salvation
You got it!
It's a shame that they call themselves Christian!
Christ died for them.
What a waste.

The man in Mathew 7 performed the wonderful works in respect to his own self (self righteousness) becaise of that work of self rightepousnes Christ called him a worker of inquiy.,not having a imputed righteousenes of Christ that comes from Christ by a work of the faith of God, also called a labor of His Love ...again working to both will and do His good pleausre.

Who works in you to both will and do the good pleasure ?????

Philippians 2

12
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

14Do all things without murmurings and disputings: 15That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; 16Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain. 17Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all. 18For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me.

well, that stinks...lol
Sorta like the eclipse I just experienced. Only 81% impartiality in Clearwater. The moon made a negligible difference in the amount of available daylight. In most areas of the country it got noticeably cooler, here it got hotter. I ain't waiting another 39 years to experience this again. Maybe I needed those fancy eclipse shades? I did take a couple of peeks at it and there were spots in front of my eyes for a few minutes. I'm seeing much clearer now.

I am of good Spirit and mind not.. by His Strength we stand.
The spirit of God Almighty is stronger than the spirit of the enemy.
God is on the side of those who honor Him with obedience and good deeds.
God makes the rules...not some who THINK they know the rules.

its almost laughable, the biggest haters of the thread keep it open by continuing to respond in it.
