An apostle is a true Christian sent with the gospel, the binding authority of God, sent in a hope the Holy Spirit will apply his word to their heart.
The word apostle is a Greek word simply mans sent one. It is not used just in a religious setting .It can be used when sending a person to the store or borrow an egg from a neighbor. Moses was an apostle is the truest sense of the word as were all the prophets sent to declare the word of God. A prophet declares the word. When prophets are sent they are called apostles. When the great commission had began God sent them (apostles) out two by two.
A false prophet is one that declares the will of another other than the word of God sending out a false prophet makes up a false apostles. If a person thinks God has given a person the desire to serve him today and they bring the gospel they are just as much an apostle as was any of the twelve.
Twelve is a remnant of all the apostles listed. I think the new testament names 25 .There are no more requirements other than a desire to go with the word of God .
You could say those who post here in a hope of declaring the gospel are apostles.
For some reason the word has had new meaning added to it .Most likely by the Catholics who abuse the word and turn it into a succession of men (apostolical succession )in order to take away the authority of ….all things written in the law and prophets (sola scriptura) They would be false prophets as well as false apostles.
Twelve is the number word that is used in parables to represent the authority of God. The Holy Spirit uses twelve tribes as gates by which we enter fellowship and twelve apostles to represent the walls of the city that is shown coming down from heaven prepared as His one bride.
The idea of us venerating (a form of worship),men because God sends the to declare His will is not a biblical idea. We venerate God alone not men that the Holy Spirit works in to both will and do His good pleasure
Just as Judas was taken away as a sign of rebellion is removed from the description of the bride of Christ. Dan is removed from the description of the bride representing the whole church.
Twelve is the number God was shooting for to be used in various parable
13-1=12
