It includes me too. And you're right - it makes us all look bad when we do it. We should discourage each other from it, amen! When we start going towards a brother with the same lack of love he comes at us in, we're just wasting our time because we're not speaking in love just like he isn't. If I EVER learn to not revile back and snip back, I will be very grateful and happy.

I think there are times people need rebuked for their behavior. Bit we need to be careful how we do it. If people keep doing it after a few have done this, then I think we need to escalate to someone who can actually do something about it. Instead of just keeping up the back and forth. for which I was guilty of.

We affirm the following:

The Grace of God in justification is an unconditional free gift.

The sole means of receiving the free gift of eternal life is faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of
God, whose substitutionary death on the cross fully satisfied the requirement for our
justification.

Faith is a personal response, apart from our works, whereby we are persuaded that the finished

His death and resurrection has delivered us from condemnation and
guaranteed our eternal life.

Christ has delivered us from condemnation and guaranteed our eternal life.

Justification is the act of God to declare us righteous when we believe in Jesus Christ alone.

Assurance of justification is the birthright of every believer from the moment of faith in Jesus
Christ, and is founded upon the testimony of God in His written Word.

Spiritual growth, which is distinct from justification, is God’s expectation for every believer; this

I do not forget King Saul. Truthfully, his tale is disturbing. In some ways his story reminds me of Samson. Both had the Spirit leave them. But almost to prove that there was no seal of the Holy Spirit either way. Coming in, or going out, God heard Samson's prayer at the end and I believe the Spirit came back to him. God certainly granted his request.
Saul, is a question mark. I have heard good scholars give both sides of the debate of whether Saul is save.
But I believe WE ARE NOW SEALED. I know you don't. I find that dad.
Brother Ed....

Have you ever studied out the Holy Spirit seal as it relates to spiritual circumcision and covenant promise, just as physical circumcision in other Covenants and not necessarily a seal of eternal security?

For example,
Ever hear testimonies of the saved coming out of the occult that say they can see a son in the Spirit realm and they have a seal of the Holy spirit, which is represented by such a pure fire, they describe it as a white or blue flame?

I believe this- the Sermon on the Mount laid out how a Christ follower is supposed to live. do any of us keep those standards 24/7. no

James said to him who knows to do good, and does not , to him it is sin. so, have all of us done the good that we could have , and known we were supposed to, 24/7 ?? no.

so, that is why I do not use or agree with perfection.
thanks for the clarification, appreciate ya...

who can forget "King" Saul?
The "second" king of Israel(God was the first king as declared by God in the book of Samuel)and a king that pursued to kill his own servant David who helped him many years and ironically refused to kill him even when God delivered him into David's hands"twice",even not allowing anyone to kill Saul,if anyone forgets King Saul then they would have to forget David whom also became king of Israel!
What happened to him when he first became king?

Hi UG,

Did you even notice I was asking P4T a question about something he posted? Why are you asking me when I'm asking him? I'll post his comment so that you can go to him and ask.

Even perhaps more dangerous than hyper-grace is the Free Grace Theology camp. Many popular preachers teach this lie, and it would fall under the category of what D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones is saying above. It teaches a person can live unchanged, however they desire, without evidence of conversion, practice sin and still go to heaven contrary to 1 Corinthians 6:9ff; Ephesians 5:5ff, and Galatians 5:19ff.

Look into it, use your discernment, find the proponents thereof and listen very carefully to what they teach. Grace Evangelical Society has a video on this false gospel that it embraces. Again, look into it and be warned. :)

Just curious what you have read that would indicate they licentiousness?

free grace theology is exactly what a small part of Gnostic doctrine is...they believed you could live like hell in the flesh, because their spirits were blameless and saved...and the flesh was all evil and could not be crucified...but it did not matter, because the spirit of a man is what counts and is saved....

as usual, just saying that folks are saying behavior does not matter, with no quotes from anyone, just because you do not like how things are written.

oh, and hitler was influenced by the writings of Martian Luther about jews. if you have not read what Luther said , later in his life, about what should be done to jews, read it. and look at what the Nazis did.
gb9 - The argument you are putting here is false in answer to my point.
Have the wrong moral foundations and you commit horrendous acts. The problem is not having
a moral focus, but the wrong focus within your morality.

Again you show the fact you reject morality as a whole not admitting we all have a moral perspective.
Jesus calls us to put love at the centre of our focus.

And by the way I do not agree with Luther on his moral perspective, or Hitler.
I can hear your disdain and condemnation as if what you are saying finishes the discussion.

Wake up my friend. Do you expect people you know and call friends to come over and hit
you in the face? Why not? Because emotions, conscience and morality constrain them.

Jesus comes to us and asks us to transform this foundation to that which is in the Kingdom.
The Lords prayer, is that we might know what Gods will is. It is this will and opposition to it
that ultimately defines rebellion and walking in love.

If you are to know fear and respect, I call all to respect our Kings words and desire to do His
will as an expression of our love and gratitude to Him for bringing us into the Kingdom.

Our first command is to love God, but does not give a reason. The reason is simple, He is love
itself and all that He does is for this one expression and purpose. We always see things from
a different perspective and probably will never fully see His because He is the creator and we
are limited. If people find it hard dealing with people who are most often right, they literally
will never get on with the Lord, because He is always right, Amen.

With all due respect the above is so hypocritical of you. The above is your daily, minute by minute practice on here sir. I hope you'll turn your anger, false teachings, hate, lies and hypocrisy over to the LORD. Seems to be your "prasso" and it is sad...
Aannd the group has gone back already to its tactics, with exception of a couple.

I knew it wouldn't take long.

Hi Desertrose,

Yes I see the question mark now. Sorry :( to misinterpret.

Well lets hope he answers us both.

Although I have no affiliation, I do like to present differing camps accurately.

Thank you for catching that.
I hope you are having a great day...my garden is calling but for some reason this tea is keeping me at my computer today. LOL

agreed, and might be closer to agreement on this one than you think...
Yes, I think we might be based on the brief conversation. :) I don't try to discuss it any more because it isn't worth the discord. But occasionally I find a man who doesn't have his head explode to discuss it.

I am confused why P4T even posts in this thread....he is a TULIP loving, Predestination believing and one of the elect and knows it....So why does he need to comment...he has it made in the shade with Gabriel serving him lemonade...

Here is a big issue I have, and people may take this many ways, but this is show I see it.

This is legalism 101, it takes away from God, and places the onus on self. Forgive me if I refuse to tell a child of God yes, God hod promised all these things, But then again, You better watch out, because you can fall away, even though he promised he would never let you.
Hi E-grateful, I read your introduction to the faith from start to finish and I see a good healthy start to new babes in Christ. What stands out in my mind are the people who come along later in the new believers life and try to force feed them on a doctrine of faith plus works; we are save unto good works not by them.

Your legalism 101 is correct; the first thing that happens when you get caught up in legalistic doctrine is, your Joy in the Lord goes away. Abel's sacrifice was acceptable to God, but Cain's works righteousness was not; and he went away very angry."

"And Abel also brought an offering--fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering." Genesis2:3

"but for Cain and for his offering He had no regard. So Cain became very angry and his countenance fell." Genesis2:5

Our Pastor from the first Church where I was born again and baptized, warned new believer's; that if later you get caught up in a legalistic Church, run for the door don't walk. And if you say; but they were so loving, run for the door faster. And I have never forgotten his word's to this day.

It is so important to warn new believers of the trappings of legalism; they may offer you a more "deep relationship", with Jesus; or I can take you into a deeper meaning of the bible;

9) "For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, 10) and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority; Colossians2:9,10

It is so important for new and seasoned Christians to know they are complete In Christ. Thank you for offering this valuable message.

"Practice" is an accurate translation of the Greek πράσσω prassō thus authentic. Don't just shoot from the hip/ad lib. We're talking about solemn truths here, 2 Timothy 2:15 theology, not opinion. :)
Seriously, the word is 'sin', and the translators add 'practice' or 'continue to' before the word in that verse, and as I said, to help us out with interpretation. The exact same Greek word does not get the word 'practice' or 'continue' added to it in other verses. If it did this is how this verse, for example, would read, yet it's the same exact Greek word for sin:

"8If we claim to be without (the practice of continual) sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us." (1 John 1:8 NIV)

See, that directly contradicts what John says here when he says the one who does commit habitual sin is not born again:

"9No one who is born of God will continue to sin" (1 John 3:9 NIV)

Here's a good resource to check these kinds of things out. Bookmark it.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Stephen63 again.

this is what I asked yesterday and nothing...
I'll address this a little more fully brother. I hope there isn't much disagreement saying that Noah's Ark was a "type" of Christ. Or at least an attribute of Him.

Genesis 6:14 Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it INSIDE and outside with pitch.

The idea of the pitch (tar) on the outside is obviously to keep OUT the judgement of God on unrepentant sinners.

Now some commentators believe the purpose of the pitch on the inside is to preserve the Ark through millenia as a sign in the last days, and this may be true.

But if we look at the similitude, the pitch could be a modeling of the Holy Spirit sealing the inside for the saved. Remember WHO it was that closed the Ark door before the 1st drop. Now obviously Noah could have jumped out the window to joyfully embrace God's judgement! lol

So this "sealing" is a very important concept. Not to argue the eternal security point with you. I know where you stand on it, and although I wish you saw things my way, you trust in Christ, who He is, and what He has done, just like me. Therefore you are my brother and I love you.

Ephesians 1:13New King James Version (NKJV)

13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

2 Corinthians 1:21-22New King James Version (NKJV)

21 Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, 22 who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

Now John tells us a little about seals in Revelation:

Revelation 5New King James Version (NKJV)

The Lamb Takes the Scroll

5 And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. 2 Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?” 3 And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it.
4 So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read[a]the scroll, or to look at it. 5 But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose[b] its seven seals.”
6 And I looked, and behold,[c] in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. 7 Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.
Worthy Is the Lamb

8 Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song, saying:
“You are worthy to take the scroll,
And to open its seals;
For You were slain,
And have redeemed us to God by Your blood
Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
10 And have made us[d] kings[e] and priests to our God;
And we[f] shall reign on the earth.”

So I'm confused as to how someone is going to break the seal only Jesus can open?

ALL of this DOES NOT make me want to go out and sin more! Quite the contrary. I'm so blown away by His Mercy and Grace, that I hate to disappoint Him because I'm so grateful to Him. Consequently I WANT to please Him more knowing I am secure in Him.

I hope this scratches where your'e itchin brother! Be Blessed
