I am truly sorry for my previous false claims on the final figure of Islam. I read on a muslim post, between 2 people, their discussion and the way they spoke had me believing that they are waiting for their final victor to come and bring destruction to the nation that brought this war on Islam. They made it very clear they thought it was Christians and Jews. In my haste to put my 2 cents on this thread I didn't follow up on actual investigation and for that not only did I make myself look like an ignorant fool, I also sounded like raving lunatic lol.
Thank you for clarifying their beliefs, however, do not think this is my acceptance of Islam as I am strongly against any belief that denies the holiness of Jesus Christ. That doesn't mean I don't love you or muslim people, the fact that I accept your correction as a learning curve would show you this.
FYI though, the way we will recognize the false from the true messiah will be by his fruits. not to mention that scriptures tell us that when Jesus DOES come back, the elect will be taken to the skies to meet him there. So it's not like a true believer, a believer that has kept the faith in their heart and mind and soul will be watching this via TV. Any man that claims to be Christ, brings fire from heaven and brings peace to the earth will be the same man that will unite all religions into one, like from the times of Nimrod and Babel. The fact that he will contradict the old testament by accepting the belief of reaching 'enlightenment' or contacting unfamiliar spirits or the worship of the 'goddess of heaven' will show us he can't be the true messiah because YHWH is never changing. This will be the final man that will make the earth chose YHWH or him, bringing the final persecution of the elect and introducing the real mark of the beast (not this catholic 'x' that originally started this thread). At that point the earth will be divided into 2 sections, followers of this man or the persecuted ones. The people will then be ripe for harvest and as soon as the final martyr has been collected, the true messiah will present Himself.

The number 7 perhaps speaks of perfection or completeness. God's complete provision in His dealings with men.

I can't believe that this question is even being asked. are we protestants or not?
the antichrist is the catholic system this was beleived by every one of the reformers without exception and they used the bible to prove it.
you would think protestants would know this.

Protestants are not immersed when Baptized. Instead they receive a Cross on their foreheads, this is not Baptism!

I tried to do that once. Ended up finding out the truth and realized that the opposite is true, the Catholic Church is indeed the Church founded by Our Lord God Jesus Christ and will preach His word until the ends of time. The gates of hell themselves tremble before the glory that is His Church.

If we would only let the Bible interpret the Bible....
The mark is not some visible sign on a hand or a forehead. The mark is sin. The Bible tells you this if we would let it. It also tells you the name and number of the beast. God is not a God of confusion. We only need to hear His voice!

If the mark is not a visible sign, why does the book of Revelation speak of people not being able to buy or sell without this mark. If someone couldn't buy or sell without this mark and it was not visible, how could anyone tell someone has the mark?

Nice try. If I'm not mistaken Shwagga actually put Revelation 13:17, and not 13:18. Here's what verse 17 says: "so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name."
I think it's quite clear what this verse means. It doesn't take some extraordinary scholar to figure this one out. In fact, I bet my 6 year-old cousin would know what this meant. It means that in the end age, unless you have the mark, you can forget about trying to buy or sell stuff. But, I guess that's just my interpretation on it.

I didn't use 13:18, but rather 3:18. He asked for my interpretation and I gave him a verse to start with. Maybe the "mark" you seek will happen in your 6 year-old cousin's lifetime so that his journey into the kingdom of God will be easy! It's funny that scholars can debate over the book of Revelation for centuries and you seemed to have this part figured out. The Bible says that ALL receives the mark! I don't know what your definition of "all" is, but if it is not as clear cut and it takes some extraordinary scholar to figure this one out, then maybe your 6 year-old cousin will be happy to let you know what that word means. The Bible also says that ALL have sinned. And again, the Bible lets you know the name of the beast as well as the number of his name as it is the understanding of these that one can realize that I can't "buy" the truth from this beast system; nor can I "sell" the truth to anyone of this beast system....
