13For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 14For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 15But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another

Your verse is in support of Keeping the Commandments of GOD through Faith in the Messiah.

Teaching the New Covenant in place of the Old....

I also said that the rest hang on the 2, but my 2 differ from yours, they are what Jesus said.

I believe what John said and will obey all of scripture, but Jesus said the 2 greatest were to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and the 2nd is similar to the first, we are to love our neighbor as ourself. For all the law and all the prophets hang on those two.

And the Lord didn't say that we can obey if we want to or we don't have to obey if we don't feel like it. So you can call me a name if you'd like, (works salvationist) but a command is a command and is required. My transformed thought process of the Holy Spirit doesn't tell me to obey if I feel like it. My carnal flesh will tell me that.

So do you have to repent and believe the gospel to be saved? Or can you choose not to and still be saved?

Yes you have said that the OT is not for today and you've said that the NT is actually OT and it doesn't apply either. Jesus' teaching are Old Testament you said and don't apply to us now. If you'd like, I will try to find the posts.

Hi Desertsrose,

You can try to live by "doing" the 100 commands if you desire. I will choose to believe in Christ's work and rely on His love in me to manifest His life so that others can see the love and grace our loving Father and Lord have for them

If someone thinks they can love God by keeping all those 100 commands - go for it. When they fail ( and they will ) - the enemy will have a field-day with their minds but I have good news - Jesus will be faithful to reveal Himself and His finished work on our behalf.

He will show us how to rest in His love for us which will result as a fruit of Him being one spirit with us - we will love God with His love and love others and that will be the fulfillment of the law.

What you have said in brown above is nonsense and is completely mis-representing what I have said concerning the OT and that the NT doesn't apply either.

I have said many times that we are not in nor under the Old Covenant because we are in the New Covenant.

I have stated many times that all scripture is inspired of God and is profitable but NOT all scripture is "to you". There is a massive difference between scripture being "to you" and in it being "for you".

The New Covenant started when Jesus died and rose again from the dead. It doesn't start with Matt. 1:1 when Jesus was born.

Hebrews 9:15-16 (NASB)
[SUP]15 [/SUP] For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

[SUP]16 [/SUP] For where a covenant is, there must of necessity be the death of the one who made it.

I will ask you this - Do we go and show ourselves to the priest when we are healed now like Jesus said for a man to do? Do we tell people to keep the 10 commandments in order to be saved today like Jesus said to the man that thought he had kept the law of Moses from his youth? Of course not.

If we don't rightly divide the words of scripture through the finished work of the cross and resurrection of Jesus - we will be continually mixing up the Old Covenant with the New Covenant and ruining both just like Jesus said. You can't put new wine in an old wineskin.

I do wish you well in your attempts "to do" the 100 commands and when you are worn out - the Lord Jesus will be there to pick you up and reveal His love and grace towards you and all of us. He is faithful!

I hope you have a great day!

Eternal life is eternal. It is expressed in the "quality" of life and not to the duration of life per se. ( although duration is an aspect of it )

It is life of the same quality pertaining to eternity. Wherever God inhabits is known as the realm of eternity. By virtue of the indwelling of God through the Lord Jesus Christ via the Holy Spirit - your spirit has become the abode of God and hence eternal.

Eternal life is life in the absolute sense of the term and it is "now".

Salvation is defined as the Savior living "in" us first and foremost. Jesus does not give us salvation per se - He Himself is salvation.

Therefore just as you cannot lose Jesus - you cannot lose salvation. That is why those who preach the possibility of the loss of salvation are implying that it is possible to extract the Savior from the believer and dissolve an inseparable union between the Savior and the saved. This is impossible.

There are warning scriptures that should be heeded because of our faith can get ship-wrecked in this earth for many reasons and we can depart from relying in what Christ has done.

The reality is people can be going to church every time the doors are open, praying 5 hours a day, read their bibles 3 hours every day, witness to every thing that moves, be pastoring a church for 30 years, read the scriptures in Greek and Hebrew, live good moral lives and still be "fallen away" from the faith.

The "fallen away" - apostasy - which is the Greek word [FONT="Gentium" !important]aphistēmi [/FONT]really means to "with draw from, depart from, abstain from

People "fall away from the faith" when they rely on what they do or don't do for life and righteousness instead of relying on what Christ has already done.

It is about believing to the Saving of our soul.

If we take heed of what the Messiah writes in Revelation and Repent we are continuing to believe Him and Trust Him

If there is no message that cuts asunder then all is well and you continue believing and living Faithfully.

thanks bro. John tell the truth, His command is delight, it is my mistake that I fail to obey easy command.

I pray, God will help me to focus on Him, I believe His command become a delight only if our focus is not on earthly thingi anymore.

I remember Paul said; I am not focus on what I can see, because it is temporary, but I put my focus on the things above, because it is eternity.

When our focus shift above, I believe, obey become delight

1 John 5

1 John 5King James Version (KJV)

5 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.
10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.
18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

John is Teaching us to Keep the Commandments. He is affirming the Great and second like it as Taught by Our Messiah. If they are grievous still then let the power of GOD astonish you and may His Love flow evermore.. until you delight in His law.

Believe the Testimony of the Messiah... no second guessing or unbelieving... believe His Words. It is the law of Faith.

Wrong thread,

this thread is about people who think you have to work to gain or maintain salvation,

not about obedience, no one here think a child of a God can go live a life of Disobedience

People "fall away from the faith" when they rely on what they do or don't do for life and righteousness instead of relying on what Christ has already done.

Are you saying they're going to Hell?

It's something that "you" can get saved by simply accepting Christ & do absolutely nothing else, & "we" repent of our sins, accept Christ as Savior & Lord, & still go to Hell because we "try" & "strive" to keep the commands of Jesus?!?

People have a problem with obedience because it is hard and involves dying to the process....Obedience means total 100% surrender to the master.......it means to be at one with him....by nature people do not want to give up total control and dance around the subject.....There will be many who offer his grace back to him and he will say, why do you Call me Lord and not do the things I say......I watched another inherited ministries preacher, Judah Smith, tell people a few months ago, that confessing with your mouth the Lord Jesus, is not really a verbal thing...it means I simply confess what his grace as done for me and passively let him work it all out for me....He continued, Jesus is not looking for our obedience, Jesus is looking for our acknowledgement in what his grace does for us......and his grace allows for our willful disobedience and baby desire to disobey, because really, obedience is legalism....grace paves the way for us to grow in our obedience without having to totally submit ourselves to him.....so confessing him as Lord in your life and submitting fully to him is religion....Brian Houston, Carl Lentz and all of Hillsong are saying pretty much the same thing now....

Gal 6.6-8

[SUP]6 [/SUP]The one who is taught the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him. [SUP]7 [/SUP]Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. [SUP]8 [/SUP]For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
Now, Meggido, you are judging wrongfully, when you say that about dying. For the truth is that if we are His, born again, that has already happened. Read your bible a little closer.

We all desire to do what the Lord would have us do. The divide here is whether we follow by law, or spirit. And stop blaming others that aren't even here. Lol. Hillsong has nothing to do with this discussion. Try to stay focused, both you and seven.

Again, full surrender happened, God choses by sealing our spirit, baptized us in His power and introduces us to living in the Spirit.

If there is a problem, it came from hellfire and brimstone preachers. Not Hillsong. Now grace being unmerited, but placed on the merits of Jesus alone, also now includes the power of God within us to finish the work started on earth by Jesus.

So so let's reveal what we are now, and who we've become. God is very watchful over His body, so we need to find some happy unity here. If we begin by teaching we are now a spiritual being, and walk in life by His Voice within...sometimes without too, but rarely I think, are we together then in this?

I find most believers to be untaught in the spiritual life we can live, including myself and I too resisted much until God Himself thought it time to instruct. I can be as stubborn as a mule at times, but as I said to you, then we become a target for Holy Spirit. Because He loves to take the stubborn and cause the prideful man that we all have to fall. I think it's His delight actually. I've seen some funny stuff.

Teach the truth in love and add humor. ;)

Drop the club. It only raises another club and then onhigh has a problem. Both the one here and above.

I listened to a message a few days ago by Roberts Liardon. He was saying a bit about grace teachers going too far in their teachings too.

I can't relate his message or I'll mess it up. But, what I got from it is a warning. The devil isn't anything to play around with and we do need to get instruction from the Lord as to His will for our lives. And playing church now is a thing of the past or the churches like this will, lose their light.

We do need the message we will die for but out of love with power.

and now I'm done.
