Christians that are "in Christ and Christ is in them" have had God's righteousness imparted to them. They have now become the righteousness of God in Christ.

Not knowing this creates a religion of self-righteousness or works-righteousness.

Looks like it is time for "scripture" again in the area of righteousness. Why do people fight so much against the work of Christ and instead live by their own humanistic thoughts? Why don't we believe in Christ? Why are we continually denying Him?

I can give what the scriptures say about righteousness and believers that are "in Christ" now. Everyone can believe what they want too
.

The understanding of the new creation in Christ and the new identity of the believer is paramount to living the true Christian life.

It is time for us to "awake to righteousness and sin not". Awake means to "come to one's true self, to sober up to be your true self".

Here it says our spirit ( the inner person that is a new creation in Christ ) is alive because of righteousness that it is it.

Romans 8:10 (NASB)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin,yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.

Here righteousness is a gift - you don't earn it.

Romans 5:17 (KJV)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

We have grace reigning in our lives because of righteousness in us.

Romans 5:21 (KJV)
[SUP]21[/SUP] That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Here righteousness comes by faith.

Romans 9:30 (KJV)
[SUP]30 [/SUP] What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.

Here when we believe - we are righteousness.

Romans 10:10 (KJV)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

We are in the kingdom of God.

Romans 14:17 (KJV)
[SUP]17[/SUP] For the kingdom of God ( Jesus said that the kingdom of God is within you..He might know a thing or two ) is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Here it says that God made us righteousness in Christ.

1 Corinthians 1:30 (KJV)
[SUP]30 [/SUP] But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

This says we have become the righteousness of Christ ( this is called a dependent clause in the greek - it is determined as fulfilled because Christ became sin )

2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV)
[SUP]21 [/SUP] For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Believers are called righteousness.

2 Corinthians 6:14 (KJV)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Here it is saying that "righteousness comes by Christ".

Galatians 2:21 (NASB)
[SUP]21 [/SUP] "I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly."

Here we have the breastplate of righteousness - which is the armor of God that we are to be strong in.

Ephesians 6:14 (KJV)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

This talks about the new man in Christ - the new creation.

Ephesians 4:24 (NASB)
[SUP]24 [/SUP] and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

Ok..that's enough..there are tons more....
And then there is this reality in scripture above - speaking of God's righteousness given as a gift to those that "believe" in Christ's finished work on the cross and resurrection.

Romans 10:2-3 (NASB)
[SUP]2 [/SUP] For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not in accordance with knowledge.

[SUP]3 [/SUP] For not knowing about God's righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.

We have a choice to try to live by our own righteousness or believe in what Christ has already done and that He alone has made us righteous. I know which way I am going.

Romans 5:17 (NASB)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

If we want to experience the true grace of God in our lives - we need His righteousness.

Romans 5:21 (NASB)
[SUP]21 [/SUP] so that, as sin reigned in death, even so grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

no one ever heard of Jesus righteousness being transferred until 1500 years after His ministry..The fallacy was invented by Luther and the reformationists.....

I guess there were no bibles before 1611 because it is the scriptures that reveal the righteousness of God and the gift of righteousness. It is in the gospel message.

Romans 1:16-17 (NASB)
[SUP]16 [/SUP] For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

[SUP]17 [/SUP] For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man SHALL LIVE BY FAITH."

its blasphemy against the Holy Ghost to say that Jesus became sin to overcome evil. The OT speaks 120 times of shadows of Christ being a sin offering...thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin , Isiah 53,.................again, the reformationists added the myth that He became sin to the text in italicized words..

He was a blameless sin offering on our behalf without spot/sin said the apostle Peter...to say He became sin is contributing the works of God to the devil, contending that sin can somehow overcome sin......stop blaspheming the Holy Ghost G777 and get a life...

Hold your horses. What you are accusing someone of is very serious, you do know that is the UNPARDONABLE sin? Extremely serious accusation here. You are claiming over the internet that someone cannot be saved anymore. Stop.

If you're gonna accuse of an unpardonable sin, at least come up with some scripture evidence with context that says so.

How can anyone take you seriously if you don't?

So, since I heard that this thread just recently became rather trendy on CC, and I don't have the motivation or time to read 40 pages of arguments, what's up, people?

some say that we are saved by grace. some say we are saved by grace plus works. that sums up the forty pages here, and the thousands of pages elsewhere.

Let’s examine the approximate 20,000 people Jesus fed in Galilee with 2 fish and 5 loafs. A year later He returned and discovered they as a collective group had not forsaken their sinful ways, despite His miracles, and said the generation of Nehemiah would stand in judgement against them because they repented but ye repent not.

Knowing this first; His blood was to be shed for those before and after the cross..
So why didn’t Jesus just tell them that their works cannot exceed that of filthy rags, and that’s all God expects anyway, beings that His righteousness is going to be transferred to them, and if they merely trust in that everything is groovy: If so, He would have told them; no need to stress about sin, all that sin is going to be transferred to Me, so I can cast Satan out by Satan’s works that are being imputed to Me, because there is power in sin that grace might abound.. He could have done likewise with the rich young ruler too..
Do any of you see how foolish Luther, and then later the West Monster Confusions, actually are when examening them next to the plain and simple childlike stories in the scriptures…….

What is amazing too, is that the 2 fish are symbolic for the 2 witnesses (the saintly believers, when 2 or more are gathered in His name), that would come in the gospel age. And 5, the biblical number for grace, that God would later dispense through them after Pentecost, as they gathered up the remaining fragments that they shouldn’t be lost (bringing in yhr sheaves, the gathering of the faithful ecclesia in the gospel age), and placed them into 12 baskets (the number of God’s government) that they should stand in judgement against the wicked at the last day of fiery indignation, when His office of redeemer shall have closed, having put all opposition to His Government under His feet, and so shall be the kingdom delivered back up to God…….be blessed

Modern lascivious grace teaching in worldwide church today states as long as the message does not change, we can use any method to reach the world...

3 things wrong here...

They changed the message of grace so the message is on a house of sand...

Jesus said we are not of this world.....

How does the world get thirsty and see light, when salt loses its flavor and the light is held under a basket[think modern day worship as the basket here] Hillsong, Bethel and the rest of them are nothing more than media companies that do something called church every week

We do not need to be the world we are not part of to reach the world...

the question might be better presented in that if we could be righteous like Daniel would we even want to be?

like i said; the translates added that in Italicized words.the only Greek word there is "hamartia", plus it has to be harmonized against the multitude of other verse that say otherwise, in order to be rightly divided..correctly understood in the light of the many other scriptures it means a sin offering. Those lambs that were shadows of the Lamb of God to come were innocent, nothing was transferred to them, they are said to be a sin offering 120 times in the OT........And how could His sacrifice be a sweet smelling aroma to God if He became sin? Sin is a stench in the nostrils of God, (bible 101)

furthermore, those lambs that were once glorious were shadows of a greater and more glorious Lamb to come…Sin is the more glorious? I think not..............be blessed

Jesus also fulfills the scapegoat role in atonement wb, and the sin was transferred onto the Goat to bear the peoples sins. we see it later in isaiah the Law , the prophets and epistles all show this

Leviticus 16:21-22 "And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send himaway by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness: 22And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness."

isaiah 53 :4-6 "Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

v 11-12 "He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

12
Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors."

atonement had a process in the ot there was a sin offering, and there was the scapegoat ordinance. One is a spotless sacrifice presented before the Lord killed and slaughtered this is the sin sacrifice. the Other was the scapegoat offering it was presented before the Lord alive and the sins were transferred onto it by aaron the High priest. the scapegost bore the sin and carried it symboilically away from the isrealites. the sin offering was killed for the justufucation, and the scapegost was sent away alone to bear sin into the wilderness.

Jesus fulfills the entirety of the shadow of the Mosaic Law.

romans 3:25 "
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

2 corinthians 5:21 "
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Jesusdid indeed bear our iniquities, and did indeed die for the sins we had commited, He also gives righteousness, the issue is the difference between a "righteousness" that pretends and continues on in sin, or the righteousness of God that agrees with the persons actions real righteousness, is righteous in deed as well as word.

That was the ISV...supposedly the most accurate and is not added. Will now check Hebrew to English.

It's the sin offering fulfilled if I am understanding this correctly. It's been said that He was so transformed by sin that it was hard to look upon Him. And it was Gods plan to have His Son offered before the foundation of the world. I can see this as a sweet smelling sacrifice to Father.

Anyhow, here is the Hebrew to English..

God made this sinless man to be a sin offering on our behalf, so that in union with Him we might fully share in God's righteousness.

I would go with the translation of both. And it's an exchange.

It was said is not in scripture.....notwithstanding, He suffered greatly by the hands and the wrath of wicked people not God.
sin cannot overcome sin, its totally impossible..never go to one unclear verse in scripture to formulate doctrine, but rather go to clear verses to define unclear verses....He was a without spot and blameless sin-offering, not sin, and was acceptable by God in that He appeased the Fathers mercy which triumphs over HIS wrath, on our behalf, not in our place, that we might be reconciled back to His favor through repentance, at the atoning mercy seat of God (our propitiation)....Jesus is the mercy seat of God our propitiation, in no way could sin be a propitiation for sin......be blessed
