In fact, you have denied that having a personal relationship with God is a Biblical concept, yet when I read the Bible, I see right from the creation of Adam in Genesis to the closing words of Revelation, that it is ALL about having a personal relationship with God.

and the Bible says he did go to hell, but did not undergo corruption.....you are way off base here willy....

Psalm 16.10
Acts 13
Psalm 68
Eph 4
1 Peter 3
He went to the grave for 36 hours...But .He did not go to hell, one NEVER returns from that place said Jesus Himself...I know there are some verses that seem to say that, but if studied closely they do not.. 1 Peter 3-19,20 is one of those misunderstood verses..It is speaking of God "word" being spoken through Noah His servant to a lost world hoping that they might repent, because God is long suffering and desires that none should perish.

. I will address the other verse you listed. They in no wise imply Jesus went to hell-fire..He went to the grave, some translations say Hades, but that I believe is also incorrect, because Hades was the Greek god of the underworld....The only logical place He could have gone, beings that He was the Son of Man, was to Abraham's bosom.....there were only two places on could go..And there is no reason whatsoever to preach repentance in hell, its like praying for the dead, a hopeless cause and an abomination to God................be blessed

interesting side Note: Jesus rose on the third day which is spoken 12 times in the text..He was laid in the grave at the very end of the 15th day of the first month, and rose on the 17th day of the first month early before it was light said Mary...He rose on the third day of the feast of unleavened bread, which is the second day of the new week, which is when the first fruits were presented to God,,all of the above can be proven exactly by using the 4 gospel accounts in unison..

You are not the Holy Spirit.
of course not, I only say what the Holy Spirit had holy men of old scribe for our edification...Is truly sad that your heart is so hardened to the truth, thus you have been given over to strong delusion because you love not the truth...as far as personal relationship with God, that could mean many things to many people, however covenant relationship with God is not to be confused with the whims of man...

.the bible teaches covenant relationship, and of course its God that establishes the conditions of the covenant...personal relationship is invisible scripture, and usually means whatever is pleasing to the flesh, according to man;s conditions, such as the unbiblical term "accept Jesus": as if He needs to be somehow worthy of our acceptance? No, but rather we are commanded to repent and come clean with God that He might accept us..Jesus doesn't need our approval, however He desires and commands our obedience...............

I do not wonder why you bear false witness.

so that I am not misunderstood, the bible does speak of receiving the engrafted word that can save ones' soul through repentance and faith proven by deeds..However, the biblical definition of receive as it pertains to salvation; such as the seed that feel on good repented soil is much different than the common cliche' "accept Jesus", spoken of by many professed Christians today......Be blessed

Scripture says that Abel obtained righteousness because of his deeds/works done in faith. Paul didn’t say Abel was righteous because of God’s righteousness. It says that he was righteous because of his works…again; a simple child like story in the bible…probably most, if not all, could understand this when they were 5 years old, but somehow cannot today……Abel was indeed able,…..……be blessed

Amen! John 17:3 - And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent: which is an intimate, experiential knowledge, found only in a relationship. The term "know" implies intimate, experiential knowledge, through a personal relationship with Him, not merely theoretical knowledge.

Abel was considered righteous because of the lamb which gave its life.

Cain tried to be righteous by honoring God with the work of his labor, and it was rejected.

Abel knew he was not able. Cain thought he was. We see Gods answer.

The problem I see in the original statement said months ago is that, "God fills in for us." This is only half the reality Spiritually. He actually employs our will to act according to His will and thus we are co-workers in Christ. But the premise to our lives is indeed first wrapped in Christ as our life. Thus, it is our "operational-procedures-relationally" that speaks of righteousness (after regeneration). From the Spirit of God (via the Holy Spirit), to the spirit of man now enlivened again in us thru Christ and the Cross, to our soul which is where the spirit now employs our will in heart, mind, and action, to the body who we need to put under guard and employ it to do God's will according to aligning our will to His. That then means we are righteous. We are first seated (in Christ), not yet walking in the world, in heaven, and we are asked to be His Ambassadors and light to the world so as to invest in Eternal life for all people on earth; this is then walking after Spirit to body relationally works itself out in Christ..

In the area of rebuke and correction of the Word, we must guard our hearts not to bury that option; in other words, we must give God elbow room to work as He pleases). Its not about lifting men up, it is about lifting Jesus up in order for Him to lift men to Himself; this is the greater love, rather than appeasing man.. And yet as such, He asks us to respect and be gentle in our demeanor even to our enemies to reflect His own demeanor as His Children. Yet, we must never ignore God's purposes regardless of the cost if He asks us to be loyal to the Word in His timing..humbly listening to God as He asks us to serve Him is an immediate needed response; otherwise He cannot use us in many ways, for He cannot trust us..

Gods reality and truths are in the the Word, and we must be loyal to all of it. We must not dam that reservoir. We will become righteous as the relationship of righteousness proceeds not in our perfection yet but in onward and upwardness without sinful interruptions, but even as God finishes His workmanship in us God offers mercy in forgiving our confessed sins nonetheless. But that is not the highlight reel, it is the exception to the steadfastness of Christ in us; and never the acceptable premise of maturing in Him..Righteousness never grieves the Spirit of God; we forget sometimes that it is not only that we are in Christ, burt thats Christ is also in us, thus when we sin, we also grieve the Spirit of God. Ouch! Righteous on my friends, righteousness on ...

Amen! By faith Abel offered a sacrifice (Hebrews 11:4). Abel offered a sacrifice by "out of" faith that "he already had" and confirmed his faith by what he did. Cain demonstrated an evil heart by his evil deeds, while Abel demonstrated a righteous heart by his righteous deeds (1 John 3:12); and that Abel offered his sacrifice by "out of" faith and Cain did not.

Because of Cain's faith, God accounted him as righteous. His faith was evidenced in obedience to God's requirement for sacrifice by which he obtained witness that he was righteous. That sacrifice did not make his righteous, but through it he was shown to be righteous. Abel's offering proved something about his faith that was not demonstrated by Cain's offering.

Typo in second paragraph..lol

but yes, cains lack of faith was proven by his disobedience to God, had more faith in his own work, than God, he tried to offer god human righteousness and God rejected it,

abel showed faith
cain started religion

NO ONE IS RIGHTEOUS...
Romans 5.17 says you are made positionally righteousness through Christ when you get saved....

[SUP]17 [/SUP]For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

I'm a christian because God saved me by allowing his son Jesus to die for me. How could I not be righteous?
Not trying to be offensive or anything, but after all Jesus has done for us, wouldn't be insulting to Him to say no one is righteous?

no one is righteous apart from the cross, that is what we mean, even the most mature Christian, apart from th cross, would b condemned because of not living up to Gods standard.

Exactly! Many times I've insulted Jesus without even meaning too. Thinking I was being honoring to Him I was actually insulting Him I took the old testament verses and the other verses that were meant for us BEFORE we got saved and applied them to myself today. But after Jesus..... we are righteous now. We have the righteousness of Christ on and in us. And the Bible says we are the righteousness of God IN Christ. How stunning and amazing is that!!!
