By my own works there is no hope for me, Ephesians 2:8-9. So no by my own works i am not saved. Yet Ephesians 2:10 does state that after accepttimg Christ Jesus as my Redeemer, His Spirit will produce His Works in my life. For God has ordained that we should walk in good works or we should in the Holy Spirit.

This why James states faith without works is dead. Because a believer who will not allow the Holy Ghost to lead his/her life can't do the work we are ordained to do, by His power.
Amen.....saved UNTO works not BY........at the end of the day we are eternally salved, sealed, justified, sanctified (positionally) and sealed in Christ eternally by faith thru grace ALONE.......any work of fruit produced is the result of being in the VINE by faith and the direct result of the salvation and faith we already possess in Christ....JESUS is the source of any and all work in ANY believer............

I eat tomato, onion and mayo sandwiches with salt and pepper all the time. It NEVER occurred to me to put dill pickle or relish on them...stupendous, just by hearing it you can tell it would be good.

I make a combination sandwich - fried egg, bacon, mayo, dill relish and a touch of catsup. It's gooood! On toast.

Darlin', it isn't a "prize". Eternal life with Jesus is a GIFT, not a prize.. Heaven isn't a carnival where you can earn prizes..lol
Yes, I don't view it as a prize. I view different types of hats to wear as a prize.
I don't like talk about different hats to wear as a reward in heaven. It sounds to me exactly as you describe - a carnival atmosphere.

We had Chinese take-out for lunch :D

My boss treated us  Ginger beef brisket, roasted piggie, sweet and sour breaded chicken, egg plant with peppers and carrot, fried rice noodles, pork and shrimp fried rice with diced veggies, a couple of chow mein type dishes, broccoli and beef, and balled melon in a hollowed out melon. It was yummy! A good thing I do not eat like that very often :)

I'm now officially starving. That sounds awesome!!

It's okay, it's refeed day according to Bruce.

I am laughing right now because I've never heard you describe a mound of food but always see you just post pictures of it. Camera broke? ;)

Ya know I don't think I've posted to this thread yet so here it goes....

My sons and daughters weren't always on there best behavior. And being typical kids to teens and even young adults made many wrong choices, got lazy, back talked, didn't do all that was asked. You who have kids know what I'm talking about...lol. Anyway through it all they remained my sons a daughter. O we've had our go around but never did I reject them or write them off. I never loved them less , sometimes I didn't like them but never stopped loving them. Ya see that's why we're blessed with relationships to understand scripture more.
Jesus said if you being a good father know how to give good gifts then how much more is your heavenly father compared to this?

Just some food for thought.

Potter.

How does Jesus fail and I succeed?..........if I walk away?
1. he did not finish what he started, he could not hold you or work enough in you to keep you from falling
2. He aloud you to overpower him and pull away from him
3, he predestined you falsely because he thought you would have faith, when in the end you did not
4, he did not know you would pull away, so he gave you promises, and you made him look bad because he was notable to keep those promises
5, he gave you eternal life, based him his promise, and had to take it back making his promise look bad.

How many more more do you want?

We should start a food thread, and we could tie it to how one can be saved by the dietary laws (joke)

By this logic God failed in creating man, because Adam fell and many will be destroyed
in hell.

God has allowed His creation to walk away or choose to walk in love.

The view being presented here is fatalism, where one is dragged to ones fate whether
you want to or not.

The whole point of the gospel is it is a free offer which you are allowed to take or leave,
try out and then decide it is not for you. God never forces Himself on others, it is the
proving that love works and is the foundation of eternity that He desires us all to discover.

It does not work if it is forced because that in itself is a denial of love, as is love has to
force itself to prove it is right. Once you understand the true nature of God and of free will
and what the eternal testimony is, there is no other way, and it by itself brings praise to His
name.

He who could force all to bow the knee chose to allow all to find their path, and reap the
just rewards each gains from listening or otherwise to the King of Kings. Amen, Glory to His
name.

We are not dragged into salvation against our will.

How is it you fail to grasp elementary concepts?
