GaryA: where do you go to buy computers that you can buy a new computer, already assembled, but with no operating system? I have never heard of such. Where I live they are always assembled and with a system already installed, ready to go.

Wait. You said - no way - you are not going to tell 'none' of us...

Does that mean it is certain that you will tell all of us...?

Yeah - well - okay - maybe not...

I just wrote a two paragraph post about this and accidentally deleted it.
It was about something I was thinking about Jennie Mar (all good, no negative stuff) before I even read her post. Coincidentally her response was related to what I was thinking.

Anyway, here is my rant.
Ya'll need to leave good ole Jennie Mae be.
She is a down home fine woman who has more smarts then ya'll.
Fellow Christians, be nice!

So what I was thinking before I read Jennies post.
I was quite amused by her post considering what I was thinking.

I saw she left s post in the rant and said to myself let me read what she ranted about, that woman had personality.
I said to myself maybe I will reply making a good natured hick comment based on a exchange we had about a year ago.

Then I read her post and go, wow, it was related to what I was thinking.

Thanks CC for the amusement.

The only place I know of where you can get such as that is on the internet; albeit, I have not looked lately at any of those. For several years now I have been building my own computers from individual 'components' bought off of the internet and / or from computer super-stores in Dallas, TX. But, there have been times when I was looking for a "quick solution" ( for me or for someone else ) for obtaining a new computer without Windows on it. So - I believe that you may be able to find a pre-assembled no-OS new computer on the internet; however, it will be a rare case for sure... ( no pun intended )

I don't think the manufacturer is conspiring with Microsoft to get Windows in every home. I think they're just trying to sell computers. Most people won't buy a computer with no OS. But from what I recall, every computer I have seen even online that has no OS has been cheaper than the ones with Windows.

Ever tried installing a system on a stick? I have been running from a USB flash drive install for years. This laptop I'm on has a low-profile 64GB clip with Linux Mint on it. I don't even care what's on the internal hard drive. I think the Windows that came with the computer is still there, but I wouldn't swear to it. Also I don't have to carry the whole computer around, I just turn it off and take the flash drive out. Plug that chip into another computer and boot from USB and that is now my computer system - just running on different hardware.

Lynx. A man of my liking.❤️ A Linux missionary❤️❤️❤️

If you hadn't been a feline and I wouldn't live across the ocean and if I wasn't who I am and you would by a miracle notice me, I think we could be a match. Nah. It would just be too much ranting.

All you need is a flash drive and a Linux install medium. Format the flash drive as ext4. At install, direct it to use the flash drive as though it were a hard drive.

Be sure to install the boot loader on the flash drive, not the computer's internal hard drive.

Actually if you want a guaranteed safe way to do it, just pop the hatch and remove the internal drive for a moment. When you install Linux the flash drive will be the only storage available. You won't even have to format, just go the auto-config way.

I don't think I have ever seen a no-OS machine cheaper than an equivalent Windows-loaded machine. Windows-loaded machines always seem to undercut no-OS machines - at least, every time I have looked for them.

Change your diet, the allergy will completely disappear.
I know this to be true from experience.

This is a rant for my high school best friend who only talks to us when she has troubles but would never spent time to us whenever she's happy. At least, treat us equally. We're here for you in times of your need but you often forget us when you're happy. :\

Why do I think driving home in the middle of the rush hour is a great idea? And all those electric cars, thinking they can drive and park wherever just because they are electric. And why does it have to rain? And why can't just people be friendly for a change.

My ranting is over. I found my peace.
